  • ‘Doctor Strange 2’s ‘Assembled’ Episode to Release in July on Disney+

‘Doctor Strange 2’s ‘Assembled’ Episode to Release in July on Disney+

We’re only a few more hours away from Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness finding its way to Disney+. While the film will still be available in theaters, it does seem like people will be given Marvel’s first true trip into horror another shot from the safety of their home. Well, it seems that fans will get a little extra, as on July 1st we’ll also get the Assembled entry from the latest Marvel Studios film.

Disney Plus Informer has shared the release date, which will follow a week right after its Disney+ premiere. The timing is also perfect to build up some momentum for the release of Thor: Love and Thunder which is also set to fire up the box office. The entry will be titled Assembled: The Making of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Sadly, it seems the future episodes will remain as individual episodes rather than summarized under the Assembled banner. It does continue to imply that they simply draw in more viewers individually rather than as a continuing series. Who knows they might get combined in the future, but it’s great that they are continuing the tradition of adding new entries once a film is added to the streaming service.

  • Disney+ Delays Release of ‘Moon Knight’s BTS ‘Assembled’ Special

Disney+ Delays Release of ‘Moon Knight’s BTS ‘Assembled’ Special

It looks like one of the Assembled episodes has been delayed, as Moon Knight’s was originally going to release today. Still, Disney has seemingly made the decision o postpone it to 25th May 2022. This delay marks the second time it has happened for any Marvel Studios shorts that take a peek behind the curtain on how these projects are done. The same happened with their last Disney+ series Hawkeye, which was delayed into February instead of its initial January release. Surprisingly, we also never got a poster release for the series, which has also been a tradition up to this point.

There’s been a surprising development of these projects being turned into individual episodes rather than having them as part of the initial Assembled series. The change was made with Hawkeye, which may have seen a spike in viewership as a standalone episode rather than bundled with the series due to the sporadic release schedules depending on when the films and series are released.

Here’s hoping that they do eventually fold them back into the Assembled series at a later date for those wanting to catch up on everything they missed. The upcoming episode on Moon Knight also will include a particular “roundtable discussion” featuring the directors of the series. We initially saw the Disney Gallery: The Making of The Mandalorian, which kicked off the idea of mini-documentaries based on the popular series. We’ll see if they start promoting the special as we near its new release date in a few weeks.

  • ‘Moon Knight’s ‘Assembled’ Episode Eyeing a May Release

‘Moon Knight’s ‘Assembled’ Episode Eyeing a May Release

As is tradition, every new Disney+ show will also come bagged with a new entry in the Assembled series. Disney+’s offering to those that want a look behind the scenes and get a feel for how their new favorite series was made. They also made some for the film was well, which made it the go-to for those wanting to know what exactly is happening over at Marvel Studios. Moon Knight will also get its own episode and it seems that the release will be the week after its finale.

As such, you can expect a behind-the-scenes look at Moon Knight as of May 11th. It’ll be great to see just how they brought this series to life, especially with the filming taking place in the desert where they shot Lawrence of Arabia, as well as turning Hungary into Egypt due to them not being able to shoot on location as a result of permit issues.

There’s also the potential of getting to know just how Oscar Isaac created his take on DID, especially with how complex they try to showcase it as two personalities are fighting for the same body. Episode 3 included quite the seamless transition from Marc Spector into Steven Grant, which may be something the actor can talk about in the project and how he conducted his research on bringing it to life. Whatever that may be, it’s going to be exciting to see what the latest entry in Assembled has to offer when it releases in May.

  • ‘Assembled’: ‘WandaVision’s Episode is the Most Watched Entry of the Marvel Studios BTS Series

‘Assembled’: ‘WandaVision’s Episode is the Most Watched Entry of the Marvel Studios BTS Series

Disney+ doesn’t actively share any viewing data. So, we are dependent on external analysts to figure out how successful a show may be on the streaming service. Luckily, the latest analysis by Samba TV has revealed that WandaVision‘s Assembled episode is the most-watched episode of all three.

They shared the statistic on Twitter which showcases how many viewers the episodes got in their first five days. WandaVision led with 98K US households followed by Loki with 65K as well as Falcon and the Winter Soldier‘s 61K. It seems that the premier Marvel Studios series had the most momentum, as people wanted to uncover how they brought the iconic sitcom eras to life throughout each episode.

It’s an interesting insight into how many viewers are interested in the BTS episodes. It seems that this additional one-episode format per Disney+ series is paying off and has earned a considerable audience in the US. We’re still questioning if we potentially get the release of a Black widow-focused episode. There was never any announcement if they are actively including it in the series. So, it seems likely they might be utilizing this exclusively for the Disney+ series.

Yet, they might also time it with the digital release, as they also include various looks at behind-the-scenes and cut scenes. Plus, the Disney+ series run for several weeks and it only gets released once the series’ finale got released. It’ll be interesting to see how many viewers the BTS episode on What If might garner, as we get a closer look at the animation process of his unique series. Here’s hoping Assembled has a long history ahead.

  • A Version Of ‘Loki’ Could Have Seen Him Wield the Infinity Gauntlet

A Version Of ‘Loki’ Could Have Seen Him Wield the Infinity Gauntlet

It’s crazy to think that Loki ended last week. The series started with an emotional journey of self-discovery and ended with the birth of the multiverse. Luckily, Marvel Studios started a great new tradition with Disney+, as the end of one show means we’ll get a little extra. Marvel Studios’ Assembled started as a special documentary series after the release of WandaVision and continued to be the center of our first glimpse behind their Disney+ show productions.

The latest one focusing on Loki offered a little extra glimpse into what the series could’ve been. In a blink-and-you-miss-it sequence, head writer Michael Waldron is standing in front of a whiteboard full of ideas. If you look closely, there’s a listing of eight points that tease a very adventurous episode for the God of Mischief. The list to its left follows the structure of the episode we ended up watching.

It’s not easy to make out, but it involves Loki visiting different time periods. He gets into various mischievous situations, which a specific highlight on sex. He starts collecting the Infinity Stones and even gets his hands on the gauntlet. Yet, after all that, he questions if it is even real and returns to the TVA. There, Mmobisu shows him their true power.

It certainly sounds like a very different episode from what we got. It also seems this was set up before the Sacred Timeline was established. Loki gathering all the Infinity Stones would’ve caused a massive Nexus event. It shows how many ideas they must’ve gone through before the show even entered production. Interestingly enough, the travel through different eras was the original pitch of the series some time back. So, it’s always great to get some insight into seeing that original idea almost made it into the Disney+ series.

The first episode of the ongoing series gave fans a 60-minute look into the making of WandaVision and we can probably expect something similar here for The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. As it stands, Marvel Studios looks to have episodes planned for Loki, Black Widow and Hawkeye. Given how well the WandaVision episode was received by fans, it wouldn’t be surprising to see the series expand beyond the original plan and continue giving fans the opportunity to peek behind the curtain of their productions.
