  • Closer Look at FX’s ‘Y: THE LAST MAN’s Yorick Brown Released

Closer Look at FX’s ‘Y: THE LAST MAN’s Yorick Brown Released

Just a few days after getting an official premiere date for the Y: The Last Man adaptation, we now got our first look at the series lead, Yorick Brown. It was shared by series producer Eliza Clark to showcase a somewhat iconic shot taken straight from the comics. He is even holding his Ampersand’s, his pet monkey, carrier. When we find Yorick donning this look, at the beginning of the series, he’s on his way to Washington DC, looking for his mother, Representative Brown. He keeps his identity hidden since being the last representative of the male gender would be something that would draw a lot of attention to himself. A plan that, as most plans in post-apocalyptic times go, doesn’t really hold up for long.

Yorick’s true identity is rapidly revealed, in what proves as the catalyst for his globe-trotting adventures, looking for a cure that would guarantee a future for the human race. Moved by his own self-interest of traveling to Australia, to meet up with this girlfriend who was there conducting research when the plague hit, instead of going in search of a Boston geneticist who could study him and possibly discover the reasons behind his survival, Yorick must navigate a world where he is no longer seen as a person, but a means to an end.

Warcraft’s Ben Schnetzer is playing the titular character of Yorick with Diane Lane portraying his mother, Congresswoman Jennifer Brown, a member of the U.S. House of Representatives. The mainly female cast will also feature Ashley RomansDiana Bang, as well as Dredd‘s Olivia Thirlby. It will premiere on September 13th, 2021, on FX.

FX’s ‘Y: THE LAST MAN’ to Release in September

After what seems like an eternity, the Y: The Last Man adaptation finally has a set premiere date over at FX. It will officially premiere on September 13th. What could very well turn out to be one of the biggest hit series of 2021 is based on the comic series of the same name penned by Eisner Award-winning Brian K. Vaughan and Pia Guerra. It was published through Vertigo and ran from 2002 until 2008, spanning over 60 issues. Its storyline focuses on the aftermath of a cataclysmic event that ends up killing every single mammal on planet earth with a Y chromosome. In layman’s terms, only females survived.

Enter Yorick Brown, who mysteriously manages to survive with no idea of how that came to be. With his pet monkey by his side, he becomes involved in a world of governmental espionage, international intrigue, with the backdrop of humanity possibly being on the verge of extinction for simply not being able to reproduce. We’re led in a globetrotting adventure, across multiple continents as Yorick, the Last Man, fights not only for his own future but also for his race.

  • FX’s ‘American Horror Story: Double Feature’ Set to Premiere in August

FX’s ‘American Horror Story: Double Feature’ Set to Premiere in August

The last time we visited the world of American Horror Story, we found ourselves transported back to the 1980s. We got a new take on the slasher genre that flipped many notable tropes on their head in a throwback of a season. Since then, the series has been on a bit of hiatus due to the ongoing pandemic that caused filming to be drastically delayed. With this delay, the show decided it was time to try something new with the upcoming theme. “Double Feature” will revolve around two separate and shorter storylines that take place in one season. We’ve yet to learn just what these stories will entail, but we won’t have to wait too much longer to figure that out.

Just a day after series creator Ryan Murphy confirmed a July release for the upcoming AHS Spin-off, FX has confirmed that the upcoming tenth season of American Horror Story will premiere on Wednesday, August 25th. One season will focus on the sea and the other will be by the sand. Set photos have teased a quaint seaside town for the first story but have not given much away as to what’s going on. The reveal for the release date came from FX’s official Twitter channel.

The second storyline is a bit more of a mystery right now. The first tease led many fans to speculate that it could have something to do with Aliens, one of the show’s most interesting loose ends following Asylums’ confirmation of their existence. The whole idea of it being set around “sand” has people believing it could even take place in a desert. There is a noticeable one near Area 51. While nothing has been confirmed, time will tell just what Murphy has in store for us this time around.

  • Hiroyuki Sanada and Cosmo Jarvis Join FX’s ‘Shogun’

Hiroyuki Sanada and Cosmo Jarvis Join FX’s ‘Shogun’

It looks like FX found its leading duo for the upcoming adaptation of James Clavell‘s Shogun novel. Variety reports that Hiroyuki Sanada and Cosmo Jarvis will play the lead roles for the adaptation that’ll see two ambitious men come together in feudal Japan. English sailor John Blackthorne shipwrecks in Japan and meets the land’s daimyo Lord Toranaga. The only casting missing is for the mysterious female samurai Lady Mariko, whose casting may be revealed in the coming weeks.

The series was announced during Disney’s Investors conference and was confirmed to also release on Disney’s Hulu streaming service. It was described as Game of Thrones in feudal Japan, which is an interesting concept. Tim Van Patten, the producer behind Boardwalk Empire, is producing the series that will be developed by Counterpart‘s Justin Marks. His wife, Rachel Kondo, will serve as a supervising producer. Marks might be better known for his work on Disney’s live-action Jungle Book.

The series originally already entered a phase of pre-production before getting halted. With the casting underway, it seems nothing is stopping the production from heading to Japan to bring the mini-series to life. The casting is a good sign for the series’ work, as Sanada has recently been on a hot streak with his work on Army of the Dead, Mortal Kombat, Westworld, and many more. Jarvis might be familiar to fans of Raised by Wolves and Peaky Blinders but also appeared in Lady Macbeth and Calm With Horses. It’ll be interesting to see how they bring this iconic book to the small screen.

  • New ‘American Horror Story’ Spin-Off Set Video Reveals Cast Members and a Familiar Rubber Man Suit

New ‘American Horror Story’ Spin-Off Set Video Reveals Cast Members and a Familiar Rubber Man Suit

American Horror Story has always been one of TV’s most curious properties. Its potential in rebooting the storyline each season with a new set of cast members was the perfect recipe for a never-ending pool of potential. The show is now entering its tenth season, and it won’t be alone. It wasn’t until early last year that series creator Ryan Murphy announced a spin-off titled American Horror Stories would enter production. The series would kick the anthology premise into overdrive as each episode is its own self-contained story. It would see the return of old and new characters. We’ve received little to no casting on the project, aside from setting pics that revealed the return of Evan Peters Tate Langdon, but more footage from the set has revealed a few new cast members.

The footage from the set, currently filming at Rammstein manor, better known as the Murder House from the first season, has revealed actresses Sierra McCormickKaia GerberParis Jackson, and Ashley Carter. Plot details for this episode seem to revolve around Halloween if we go by the set decoration. The actresses also seem to be in costume to celebrate the season. We have to highlight that McCormick‘s character is wearing the infamous Rubber Man suit. It got previously worn by Tate Langdon in the first season. American Horror Stories currently has no set release date and has only just begun production, so it may be a while before we get yet another return to the murder house. It’s unclear if these actresses will be returning for further episodes as well.

  • ‘American Horror Story’ Spin-Off Recasting Season 1’s Rutger Twins

‘American Horror Story’ Spin-Off Recasting Season 1’s Rutger Twins

It looks like the American Horror Story spin-off is actively exploring past seasons in creative ways. We just got our first look at the return of Evan Peters‘ Tate Langdon. It is starting to point that American Horror Stories is going to revisit the place that started it all, as we also saw the team return to the iconic Murder House from the first season. They are still keeping most of the stories’ plot under wraps, but it will certainly be a trip down memory lane. It looks like the first season will see a few more returning characters, as the twins Troy and Bryan.

It Looks Like The Creepy Twins From The Very First Episode Of 'AHS' Are Back

The first hint came from the AHS fan page on Instagram, where they hinted at the return of the red-headed twins. Now, the actors that originally portrayed them have aged since the original first season premiered in 2011. So, we can confirm that they are actively looking to recast the two. Yet, they are active only looking for one actor with twins being a plus. Their description matches the original appearance. The character is described as a “mischievous teenager, who is always playing pranks and wreaking havoc.”

It seems they are taking into account the difficulty of finding twin actors that would match Kari and Bodhi Schultz‘s description. So, if they only manage to find one actor to fit the bill, they may reshoot the scenes with him playing the other twin. We’ll see how they play into the story and if this tale will offer a new perspective on the original first season of the series, or maybe visit a brand new victim of the murder house once it airs.

  • ‘American Horror Story’ Spin-Off Set Photos Reveal the Return of Evan Peters’ Tate Langdon

‘American Horror Story’ Spin-Off Set Photos Reveal the Return of Evan Peters’ Tate Langdon

American Horror Story has been quite the hit for a long time. After nine seasons, it was bound to get some sort of spin-off. Last year, series creator, Ryan Murphy, announced the anthology series was in works at FX and would see self-contained stories taking around an hour each. The series would explore old and new locations. The first season would consist of sixteen episodes diving into “horror myths, legends, and lore” while also featuring familiar faces from AHS‘s past. With little to no casting details on the upcoming series, a set photo confirms the return of a fan favorite.

New set photos from the spin-off’s set, which is currently filming at the Rammstein Mansion. It is probably better known as the Murder House. The set photos offer our first confirmation that Evan Peters will return in the role of Tate Langdon, one of the many spirits that haunt the home. It’s currently unconfirmed as to who else from the original cast but Violet would make a lot of sense.

American Horror Stories is set to release on FX on Hulu but currently has no set release date and has yet to reveal an official cast. It’ll be interesting how many other storylines might get explored in the spin-off, as they seem less restrained with an overarching plot throughout the season. They could have a connecting theme, which is a staple of the franchise. We cannot wait to see what other familiar faces might make their grand return in the near future.

  • Denis O’Hare Joins The Cast of ‘AHS: Double Feature’

Denis O’Hare Joins The Cast of ‘AHS: Double Feature’

Fans are eager to get their first official look at the upcoming season of American Horror Story. As per tradition, the latest season takes on a new theme to switch things up. This year, the show hit a wall when the pandemic messed with its production plans. It caused things to change and dates to shift back. The series creator, Ryan Murphy, revealed the upcoming theme was indeed a double feature. As such, the season would see two storylines with two different casts. We are still waiting for the casting announcements for the second part of the season. Murphy recently took to Instagram to confirm the return of a fan favorite amongst AHS fans, one that’s awaited for a while now.

Recent rumors began to swirl that AHS alum and fan-favorite Denis O’Hare would be returning for the upcoming season, as he began sharing a lot of the material surrounding the new theme. On the above rumor post about the actor, Murphy confirmed that O’Hare will indeed return for this upcoming season. Considering that Denis was not apart of the initial cast reveal for this season, it’s easy to assume that he’s the first addition to the second cast for the other storyline we’ll be seeing this season.

American Horror Story: Double Feature currently has no set release date. The cast for this season continues to feature more and more alum such as Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Lily Rabe, Adina Porter, Frances Conroy, Billie Lourd, Finn Wittrock, and now Denis O’Hare.

  • ‘American Horror Story’: Frances Conroy May Have Replaced Kathy Bates in Season 10

‘American Horror Story’: Frances Conroy May Have Replaced Kathy Bates in Season 10

American Horror Story is yet another production that suffered from the ongoing pandemic. It usually debuts around October, but the upcoming tenth season will be set back well into 2021. While no new date has been given, the series was able to begin filming last October in Province Town, Massachusetts. The main issue that production faced was this season’s theme, which is still unknown, requiring very specific weather conditions. It obviously would be available around a certain time of year.

What we know so far is that the season has a coastal town setting, with seems to have nautical influences stemming from the image teasers provided by the creator, Ryan Murphy. Fans were absolutely ecstatic when he took to social media to announce the cast of the upcoming season. The star-studded lineup will include some of the show’s best recurring actors and actresses. It also is the debut of Macauly Culkin, who will be joining returning AHS vets Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Angelica Ross, Leslie Grossman, Billie Lourd, Finn Wittrock, Lily Rabe, Adina Porter, and Kathy Bates.

The addition of Kathy Bates is especially essential to note, as the show’s creator was able to get Culkin to join after pitching “crazy, erotic sex” with the famous actress. Suddenly, rumors began to swirl that the fan-favorite AHS alum may have departed the upcoming season due to health concerns resulting from the pandemic. For those who do not know, Bates is a two-time cancer survivor. She beat ovarian cancer in 2003 and then breast cancer in 2012. Due to the ongoing pandemic, it would make it tough for Bates to work on the project, especially if she would risk contracting the virus.

While these rumors went around for a while they didn’t have any weight to them. It wasn’t until rumors stated that another AHS alum would be joining the cast, who ended up being none other than Frances Conroy. This rumor ended up getting confirmed by Ryan Murphy, who sneakily revealed the casting in a comment from ahsfxnews before it started making the rounds officially.

Now, this is where I think things get interesting. Newcomer Ryan Kiera Armstrong has also joined the series and took to social media to post a lineup of the actors and actresses working on set. It featured a lineup of the. If you take a closer look, Bates is noticeably absent from the line-up. Instead, Conroy has a prominent spot even if she only joined later on. Now many would just assume that her picture wasn’t included, but why would anyone want to hide the fact that they’re working with such an icon. It’s not like they’ve kept her inclusion a secret, especially with her being the reason Culkin joined. Conroy was not present in the initial cast reveal and was only confirmed when rumors began to spread about her involvement. It sparked the theory that perhaps she was brought on board to replace Bates. It would add up with her late inclusion, especially with the production delays.

There is one more piece to this puzzle that was revealed in a teaser reel for FX’s 2021 line-up for the Hulu streaming service. We got a very brief first look at the upcoming season that offers a close look at Conroy. Now, people that have followed the series and the roles she has played might notice it’s quite a departure. Bates and Conroy aren’t far apart in age, so that wouldn’t be an issue if she jumped in for her. What is presented seems to match the kind of role that Bates is known for, especially the hairstyle.

News has dried up on the series, so we won’t know anything for sure until it is officially revealed. Yet, there does seem to be some kind of connection between the rumors and Conroy‘s casting. It would be understandable for Bates to have some health concerns, but nothing was finalized due to the pandemic’s uncertainty. Once they were able to film, they may have decided to move forward without her. Strangely, there has been no mention of her exiting the project, as we’ve seen in some cases in the past. Her role was an essential one in getting Culkin to join, so perhaps she might still be involved. At the moment, it seems to be hinting at her

  • ‘Alien’ Series In Development for FX

‘Alien’ Series In Development for FX

It has been announced that Alien will get its own series on FX. While we sadly could not see the first footage, it seems that they will be continuing the story alongside Ridley Scott. A part of the story will take place on earth, so we can expect the Xenomorph to finally make his appearance on our planet. It will be exclusive on FX, but that brand will fall under the STAR banner internationally. Noah Hawley of Legion and Fargo fame will be the series’ showrunner.
