RUMOR: ‘Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order’ Sequel Reveal Expected Ahead of E3

Here’s an interesting bit of news that has found its way online. Star Wars is finally entering its renaissance with new game announcements and the release of The Book of Boba Fett. 2022 is looking like a stacked year for the galactic franchise and it seems that a popular game is finally getting the sequel to reveal that many have been anticipating. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order explored the story of Cal Kestis after the rise of the Empire. The first game – while buggy – offered a perfect blend of Jedi action and Dark Souls-lite combat. There hasn’t been much information out there on the next entry, but luckily that seems like it’ll end soon.

In a new report by Grubb from Giant Bomb, he has shared that the Fallen Order sequel is likely to get a “significant” reveal ahead of this year’s E3, which is likely going to be around May or June. There are hints that it may potentially even be released at the end of the year, or in 2023 at the latest. It’s the first real information we are getting on the sequel, but it comes just as the game took over Amazon Prime games. As it’s still a rumor, for now, we can only hope that it turns out true once we near the E3 event.

  • RUMOR: ‘Marvel’s Avengers’ May Add Riri Williams as an NPC

RUMOR: ‘Marvel’s Avengers’ May Add Riri Williams as an NPC

Marvel’s Avengers is about to enter 2022, as we still await the next roadmap for the game. The first year may have started off bumpy, but we saw the additions of four heroes, Kate Bishop, Clint Barton, Black Panther, and the PS-exclusive Spider-Man. We don’t know quite yet what we can expect from this year’s content outside of rumblings surrounding She-Hulk, but there might be another familiar face joining the game as a non-playable-character.

@EddyZ115, who has been data mining the game for some time now, has shared that a file in the game includes the name, Riri Williams. Comic fans will instantly recognize Ironheart’s civilian name, who is also set to get her own Disney+ show in the near future. There have been rumblings about a mystery character to join the already rumored characters next year, as pointed out by @mmmmmmmmiller. As such, it was believed she might be the character in question, but was later highlighted that this file includes references to a character model that is possibly for an NPC.

We still have to take this information with a grain of salt, as the existence of the character in the game doesn’t mean they finalized anything. In August of 2020, there was a listing of 15 possible DLC characters heading to the game due to what was available in the game’s source code. Yet, the development on each character that has released so far varied and plans can always change as they continue working on the game.

Her inclusion as an NPC character wouldn’t be too surprising, as most of their latest offerings included some familiar faces that are mainly supporting roles in the respective stories. Black Panther’s expansion included Shuri as an NPC in the new hub world, and it’s likely that Riri might have a similar role for another character. Of course, we still have to take this information with a grain of salt until we get the actual roadmap for 2022.

  • ‘Arcane’s Krizia Bajos May Be Playing ‘Marvel’s Avengers’ She-Hulk

‘Arcane’s Krizia Bajos May Be Playing ‘Marvel’s Avengers’ She-Hulk

There have been many theories about what we can expect from Marvel’s Avengers in 2022. Throughout its first year, we got four additional characters, the game’s first Raid, and various events. There have been quite a few rumors about what the future has in store, especially with the leaks that hinted at the initial plans for the game. Well, leaker @mmmmmmmmiller has recently shared a new tidbit of info, as he claimed that Krizia Bajos of Arcane: League of Legends and The Loud House fame will be playing or voicing the game’s take on She-Hulk.

Of course, normally take this kind of information with a grain of salt, as there’s no clear confirmation by the developer’s Crystal Dynamics. Yet, what adds fuel to the fire is that Bajos herself to the tweet with a green heart, which may add some validity to the claim.

It still doesn’t confirm it officially, as we don’t know if or when the character might release. There has not been a new roadmap released yet, which is scheduled to arrive at some point in the new year. It might give us an indicator if She-Hulk is planned as the next character to release. There’s a chance they have other plans as things tend to shift around, but the actress reacting to the tweet does add something to the speculation.

  • RUMOR: ‘God of War Ragnarok’ Leak Hints at a Late September Release

RUMOR: ‘God of War Ragnarok’ Leak Hints at a Late September Release

We’ve all been wondering what the future holds for God of War Ragnarok, as we continue to await its release. The story of Kratos and his son Atreus continues, as Fimbulwinter has arrived to change their lives potentially forever. We were quite excited when we got a glimpse of the sequel’s gameplay and a confirmation it would end the franchise’s Norse storyline. Sadly, the game’s release did get pushed back into 2022 after originally eyeing a release this year, but it seems a new leak may have given us a hint at when to expect it.

In a post by PlayStation Game Size on Twitter, it seems that the PlayStation Database has accidentally leaked the release date slot for the game for September 30th of 2022. As they point out, there’s a chance it is just a placeholder, but it falls on a Friday which is in line with previous releases. If a placeholder is already set, it could be a hint that the next trailer would offer us a clear indicator of when it might release.

September seems like a fitting time to release the game, as it’ll be a big seller for Sony’s PlayStation. Of course, releasing closer to the holidays will make it on the top list for many. Plus, there’s something fun about playing a game that takes place during an endless Winter as of September. Of course, we still need to take this news with a grain of salt, and it’ll be interesting to see if we get an official release confirmation early in the new year.

  • ‘Final Fantasy XVI’ Delayed by At Least Half a Year Due to COVID

‘Final Fantasy XVI’ Delayed by At Least Half a Year Due to COVID

Sadly, it looks like the ongoing pandemic has caught another victim, as producer Naoki Yoshida has announced on Twitter that Final Fantasy XVI is facing delays by at least a half year due to COVID-19. The entire production is facing quite a challenge, which had allowed them to tweak quite a few important elements of the core game. Still, this means that we won’t get any updates on the game until Spring of 2021.

    https://twitter.com/finalfantasyxvi/status/1475335618905669635

We only got the initial trailer some time ago with our first real details back in October of 2020. So, we haven’t had any details for almost a year, which is why this update may be a bit of a dark surprise for some given how long we’ve already waited. It also means that other productions might be affected in similar ways, as we’re still waiting for news on the sequel to Final Fantasy VII Remake as well.

To be fair, that game hasn’t been given a trailer or official announcement which means it isn’t technically getting a “delay” but the lack of any updates has been a bit disheartening. Still, the health of the teams behind these games is important and here’s hoping they aren’t further affected by the ongoing pandemic.

  • ‘No Way Home’ Fortnite Tie-In Includes Spider-Man and MJ

‘No Way Home’ Fortnite Tie-In Includes Spider-Man and MJ

It looks like Fortnite’s Winterfest has just grown with one more iconic addition. Spider-Man was featured heavily in the latest season, and now they’ve announced that we’re also get Spider-Man: No Way Home-inspired skins in the game. Of course, they announced it in style with a new trailer celebrating the beginning of Winterfest, as well as confirming we’re not only getting Spider-Man but Zendaya‘s MJ as playable characters as well. The costume featured in the short sequence is the one he created in Far From Home, but will bring back in the upcoming sequel:

It looks like he’ll also receive the Black-Gold suit that has been featured in trailers and heavily through merchandise. @BRMarvelNews shared a first look at the various costumes. It seems that MJ will only receive a single design.

They join Insomniac, who have also included tie-in costumes for the latest Spider-Man entry, as they offered both the Integrated suit and the Black-gold version, as the Red-Black suit already was featured from Far From Home‘s release. Sony certainly has invested quite a bit of money to manage and reach every corner of the market, and Fortnite is one of the biggest gaming franchises out there. At this point, we’ve seen quite a few celebrities appear in the game, but it’s interesting that they added MJ. Perhaps we get some villain costumes to tie into the film as it finally rolls out across the world.

  • RUMOR: ‘Persona 3 Portable’ and ‘Persona 4 Golden’ Remasters In Development

RUMOR: ‘Persona 3 Portable’ and ‘Persona 4 Golden’ Remasters In Development

Persona is a series I hold near and dear to my heart, but I sadly never got a chance to play all the major entries. My introduction to the series was with Persona 4 its unique take on what it means to be a JRPG. The Golden edition, similar to Persona 5 Royal, added many new elements to make it stand out even from the original that already offered a lengthy experience. Sadly, it and Persona 3’s remake were made only available on PlayStation Portable and never found their way to consoles. Luckily, if a new rumor is to be believed, they might be rectifying that fact.

Zippo, who is a well-known leaker for Nintendo products, was one of the few to announce early on that Persona 4 Arena Ultimax was getting a remaster back in July. Not many believed it until the announcement subtlety appeared during the Video Game Awards. Now, he has shared that there are more remasters in the works including console versions of Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4 Golden.

There have been theories about these two games getting remasters since Joker joined Super Smash Bros. It was the first hint that Atlus was expanding, which was then highlighted when Persona 5 Strikers was released on Nintendo Switch alongside the other consoles. It was a strange decision due to the original only being available on PlayStation, but it was a motivating direction. So, here’s hoping these remasters turn out to be true and get announced in the near future.

  • Live-Action ‘Megaman’ Movie Heading to Netflix

Live-Action ‘Megaman’ Movie Heading to Netflix

It looks like the production company Supermarché, spearheaded by directors Henry Joost and Ariel Schuman, has accidentally revealed that they are developing a live-action adaptation of the popular superhero Mega Man for Netflix The project originally was announced back in 2018 as part of 20th Century Fox’s upcoming line-up but never picked up development. The updated website seemingly confirms the project, going by the title MEGA MAN for now, has moved to Netflix.

Henry, Rel, and their in-house producer Orlee-Rose Strauss maintain an active development slate. Features in the works include: an adaptation of Capcom’s MEGA MAN for Chernin Entertainment and Netflix […].

IGN confirms that this is the same project and that the Capcom video game is only in very early development. So, we might not expect any development on the project anytime soon, but the update may be a hint that an official announcement was originally intended to go out at some point. It’ll be interesting to see how they tackle this project, especially with how they tackle some of the goofier designs from the game.

Of course, it might be smarter to adapt a different corner of the Mega Man franchise to make the storytelling aspects easier. The original franchise had barely any story outside of the rivalry between Dr. Light and Wily. The X series had a much more interesting approach by exploring a very different future 100 years after the original Mega Man was created. They could even take the Mega Man Battle Network series to use digital avatars with humans. There are quite a few options for the franchise moving forward.
