  • PlayStation’s ‘Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic’ Remake Delayed Indefinitely

PlayStation’s ‘Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic’ Remake Delayed Indefinitely

Now, this is rather troubling news, as one of the upcoming Star Wars games a remake of 2003’s popular role-playing game Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic has seemingly been delayed indefinitely. According to industry insider Jason Schreier, he shared that the company Aspyr Media, who was spearheading the project, abruptly fired its art and design directors sometime this month. It seems that studio heads have hinted the project is currently on pause and they might be looking into “new contracts and development opportunities.”

The game was announced back in September and was seemingly being worked on for almost three years. It was set as a PlayStation-exclusive release that would reimagine the classic RPG for modern audiences. They once adapted the original game for iOS and seemed like the perfect choice, especially as a demo of the game was showcased just last month to the excitement of Lucasfilm and Sony. Going by the piece, it seems they weren’t expecting the development either.

Art director Jason Minor and design director Brad Prince were fired from the project with no official statement in regards to why. Only Minor hinted on Social Media that it was unexpected. Supposedly, the project wasn’t seen as sustainable due to a lot of investment going into the vertical slice, the before-mentioned demo, and was eyeing a 2022 release but really wouldn’t make it until 2025. We’ll have to see if an official statement is made on the project’s future soon. There is some belief that Saber Interactive may take over the project moving forward.

  • RUMOR: ‘Black Panther’ Game Potentially in Development

RUMOR: ‘Black Panther’ Game Potentially in Development

Marvel has been expanding in many ways. Not only are we getting an onslaught of movies and TV series, but there’s also their gaming division. Marvel’s Avengers is still adding DLC with the new characters here or there, but that’s not all. We also have the upcoming releases of Midnight Suns, Spider-Man 2, and Wolverine. As it turns out, there’s one more heading our way.

Jeff Grubb, who is quite well-known for dropping leaks in the past has just calmly revealed that there might be a Black Panther-focused game in development while commentating on the latest trailer drop from Marvel Studios. He doesn’t give away any details but seems to hint that more details will follow in an upcoming stream.

As he doesn’t really confirm any details we’ll take this with a grain of salt but given the character’s popularity, it would only be a question of time before he’d get his own game. Black Panther was a big focus of Marvel’s Avengers marketing campaign with Kratos himself, Christopher Judge voicing the character. It’s also unclear how far along this project might be if it turns out to be true.

There is one more aspect that should be considered and that is how they might approach that kind of game. An open-world game based in Wakanda and the forest surrounding it would be quite an experience. Though, they could also go for a more straightforward narrative game as you have to tackle various missions throughout the world and in his hometown. We’ll see if more comes of this with the upcoming streaem.

New ‘Fall Guys’ Leak Offers First Look at ‘Sonic the Hedgehog’ Crossover Map

Fall Guys has recently found its way to consoles as free-to-play, which gave many the opportunity to check out what the insanity is just all about. With its loveable bean-like characters, we get a chance to join many other players in a unique take on the popular trend of battle royale games. Part Wipeout and Takeshi’s Castle, it has stood out for just the sheer amount of chaos each game comes with.

Now, it seems that they have a crossover heading our way, as Fall Guys‘ leaker, Pancake, leaked an entire level that is part of this cooperation. The level will be titled Bean Hill Zone as a cute word play on the iconic Green Hill Zone, the level offers the usual Fall Guys insanity with some Sonic-inspired flair. The iconic bumpers are here and you’ll have a lot of fun jumping around on theem.

The design looks great and coin collecting is a fitting combination for a Sonic the Hedgehog tie-in. We don’t know if we might see some more get added as well, but if this is a recurring map it’ll definitely make for a fun map people will look forward to. The game has certainly been an adventure for many who just want some fun and insanity. If you’re a Sonic the Hedgehog fan and enjoy Fall Guys, be sure to keep an eye out for it.

  • No Sequels to ‘inFAMOUS’ or ‘Sly Cooper’ In Development

No Sequels to ‘inFAMOUS’ or ‘Sly Cooper’ In Development

Here’s some depressing news, Sucker Punch has just recently shared a statement in regard to their 25th anniversary. It’s something to celebrate but it sadly looks like they have no interest in continuing some of their most iconic franchises. No exact reasoning is given but in a statement on their official website, they have shared that there are currently no plans to revisit the inFAMOUS or Sly Cooper franchise. Not only that but they also highlighted that no other studio is working on a project that includes these franchises either.

As our games continue to grow in scale and complexity, they require the full attention of our studio. With our focus on our current project, we have no plans to revisit inFAMOUS or Sly Cooper right now, and no other studio is currently working on projects related to those franchises either. These characters are very special and near and dear to our hearts, so while we’d never say never to re-opening those doors down the road, for now there are no inFAMOUS or Sly Cooper games in development.

Now, the good news is that they aren’t closing the door on them, but with new franchises like Ghost of Tsushima and whatever they may have in their pipeline next. They do confirm that Cole’s Legacy DLC for inFAMOUS Second Son will be made available on PlayStation Store for those that missed out on it. So, we’re still getting something from those franchises. Though, considering how much time is required to develop projects, we may not see these two return for quite a few years at this rate. Perhaps some studio finds that spark to bring these iconic franchises back.

  • RUMOR: Ubisoft’s ‘Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora’ Game Eyeing November Release

RUMOR: Ubisoft’s ‘Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora’ Game Eyeing November Release

There hasn’t been a lot of news on the teased open-world game that’ll take place on the world of Pandora, which we were first introduced to in the 2009 film Avatar. James Cameron‘s sci-fi epic revealed a new race of humanoid cat-like aliens known as the Na’vi. The Ubisoft-developed game was first revealed a year ago in June but never got an official release date, which may have changed.

Leaker Tom Henderson has released a tweet in regard to when God of War: Ragnarok may find its way to PlayStations. Supposedly there was a reveal planned for the day to confirm a 2022 release, which hasn’t come together. While speculating on its release, he revealed that the game Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora will potentially release on November 18th.

The game will let you explore pandora as a Na’vi from a 1st-person perspective. The only other detail that is known is that the game will be open-world but we haven’t heard from the game in over a year. So, a new trailer has been long overdue and hopefully, we may find out more in the coming weeks, which is being developed by Ubisoft.

As this is a leak, we’ll have to take it with a grain of salt. If it is indeed released in November, we may get an official trailer confirming the release in the coming months. The timing also works to build into the release of Avatar: The Way of Water which will be the first sequel of the original film since 2009. So, the franchise is making a comeback in a big way.

  • ‘One Piece Odyssey’ Started Production in the Middle of the Whole Cake Island Arc

‘One Piece Odyssey’ Started Production in the Middle of the Whole Cake Island Arc

When the first trailer dropped for One Piece Odyssey, a new RPG game set in the world created by Eiichiro Oda, many had started to wonder where the missing Straw Hat member Jimbei was. He joined the crew during the Wano arc but has been built up as a member of the crew ever since they entered Fishman Island. Well, his absence actually connects to when production started on the new One Piece game.

In a new developer diary from Bandai Namco, producer Katsuaki Tsuzuki shared some insight into how they brought the game to life. In it, he reveals that they started work on the project in the middle of the Whole Cake Island Arc. Now, it stands out that Jimbei hasn’t joined the crew officially until the final arc before they were forced to split up. Plus, it implies that they’ve started work on this project all the way back during the arc’s run. So, they approached Oda in 2019 to help out with designs, but they may have been working on the game for around five years now.

So, it’s no wonder that later additions from Wano aren’t also appearing. While they do typically plan things in advance, game production is very time-consuming. They are also working with ILCA to create the JPRG, which offers an island that has its own little world to offer that includes elements from across One Piece‘s long history. There is a chance they might add some newer members to join the Straw Hats through DLC, which would open up the possibility of Jimbei or maybe even characters like Carrot or Yamato to join their cause. So, we’ll see what the game may have to offer.

  • New ‘Marvel’s Avengers’ Leak Offers First Look at ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ Inspired Armor

New ‘Marvel’s Avengers’ Leak Offers First Look at ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ Inspired Armor

Just recently, Marvel’s Avengers has released a brand new character in the form of Jane Foster’s Mighty Thor. Perfectly timed with the release of Thor: Love and Thunder, her addition offered those hoping to try out a slightly new character will offer exactly that. Now, it seems that this isn’t the only connection it’ll have with the Marvel release, as well-known Marvel’s Avengers leaker @mmmmmmmmiller has shared the first look on his Twitter account.

The armor in question getting added is sadly not Jane Foster’s but rather that of Thor. It looks like they’ve recreated the blue-gold armor that the God of Thunder will don at some point in the film. The latest Marvel Studios release will include a good variety of new costumes for the Thunderer. So, we’ll see what else may get added.

He’s also revealed a new skin that ties into the previous Taika Waititi release, Thor: Ragnarok. The skin is from earlier in the film that also includes a great little addition, as you’ll play Thor that is holding Surtur’s crown on his back.

These are some great additions to the game, especially for those that are big fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe tie-ins. We’re still waiting for the next addition that lets you play some new missions, as it’s been a while since the release of the first Raid back in 2021. So, here’s hoping that the game is at a point where it rolls out more content once again and we’ll also see what other heroes may get added in the near future. For now, it seems we’ll hav ea few skins to tie us over.

  • ‘Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater’ Remake Sequel Was Scrapped Due to Blizzard Merger

‘Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater’ Remake Sequel Was Scrapped Due to Blizzard Merger

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 was a surprisingly great adaptation of the original games, which not only felt like the originals but added slight tweaks for those wanting to have a more fresh experience. Sadly, there was no news on a sequel to the successful reboot and it looks like due to the merger of Vicarious Visions, the developer behind the game, into Blizzard, they didn’t move forward with a sequel that would’ve adapted the third and fourth entry of the franchise according to Tony Hawk on a live stream from Twitch streamer andyTHPS.

That was the plan. Even up until the release date of this, we were going 3 and 4. And then Vicarious got kind of absorbed and then they were looking for other developers and then it was over.

    Tony Hawk

He goes on to say that they did want to move forward with the project and were actively seeking pitches from other studios to adapt the sequel. Sadly, it just didn’t come together as they couldn’t find anyone that was the right fit to continue Vicarious Visions’ work.

They were trying to find someone to do 3 and 4, but they didn’t trust anyone the way they did Vicarious. So, they took other pitches from other studios. Like what would you do with THPS titles but they didn’t like anything they heard and that was it.

    Tony Hawk

So, it looks like we shouldn’t expect a sequel from the remake, which is an incredible shame given the excitement around the return of the franchise. The market is swamped with many mergers and acquisitions that projects are being left on the cutting room floor, which makes it even more bitter that Vicarious was fused with Blizzard in 2021. But, who knows if another opportunity comes to adapt the game.

  • ‘Final Fantasy 7’ Remake Will End With Third Entry

‘Final Fantasy 7’ Remake Will End With Third Entry

The Final Fantasy 7 25th Anniversary was quite an event. Not only did we get updates on the various mobile games but confirmation on a remake of the Crisis Core game, as well as the title for the next entry after the Final Fantasy 7 Remake. It turns out the game will be titled Rebirth and that is not all the announcements we got. It was also confirmed that the current “Remake” franchise will end as a trilogy.

The third title has not been named and is likely going to be in development for quite a bit longer. Rebirth’s first trailer seemingly hints at Cloud and Sephiroth working side-by-side, which hints at the classic flashback sequence from the game. Plus, they may twist these events, especially with the team being more aware of what’s happening. The “imposter” discussion could be a hint at that and further solidify the uncertainty of how the game may move away from the original.

So, for those that were wondering how they’d pack the entire original game into multiple entries, it does seem like the first game was the only true remake of the original Final Fantasy 7. As we saw at the end of the last entry, not only does it hint at Aerith potentially surviving but even our old friend Zack is seemingly alive due to the events changing. So, wherever the game is heading next, it’s not going to be what we’ve played through in the original.

  • ‘Kingdom Hearts 4’ Will Feature Disney Worlds

‘Kingdom Hearts 4’ Will Feature Disney Worlds

Here’s a rather curious surprise, as Tetsuya Nomura, the man behind Kingdom Hearts, has offered some insight into what the upcoming fourth entry has to offer. We were teased about the new world known as Quadratum some time ago, but it seemingly hinted at a very different game moving forward. Yet, it turns out that those worried we won’t get a chance to visit Disney Worlds.

In an interview with Game Informer, he reflected on his time with the franchise and also discusses some minor aspects of what the future has to offer. In it, he also confirms that we’ll definitely be visiting Disney worlds yet wouldn’t elaborate on which ones.

With regards to Kingdom Hearts IV, players are definitely going to see a few Disney worlds in there. I just want to mention that they don’t need to worry so much about this aspect of the game. It might feel slightly different from previous Kingdom Hearts titles, but once players have had a chance to play the game, I’m sure they’ll be relieved to find that it is definitely a Kingdom Hearts title. It’s the game series that they’ve come to know and love.

    Tetsuya Nomura

Of course, there’s been a lot of speculation that one of the “Disney” worlds they’ll visit might turn out to be from Star Wars. The new art style also seemingly hints at a possible Marvel inclusion, as the game has seemingly moved away from its more cartoon-inspired roots in its graphics. Well, it turns out that also played a key factor as they approached the project.

As far as the graphic qualities … since with each new title, the specs have been really increasing and there’s so much more we can do in terms of graphics, it kind of limits the number of worlds that we can create in a sense. At this time we’re considering how to approach that, but there will be Disney worlds in Kingdom Hearts IV.

    Tetsuya Nomura

They may have made some decisions based on the graphical challenges, as the more realistic the designs get, the more difficult it becomes to adapt some franchises to keep the design consistent. It’s a shame they didn’t keep a more stylized look, but the upcoming
