  • Don’t Expect Miles Morales in ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’

Don’t Expect Miles Morales in ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’

We just got the trailer for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse that teased Miles Morales continued story meeting other spider-themed heroes across the multiverse. Of course, with No Way Home also taking a similar theme it opened up the question if we might see a potential crossover especially with Morales’ existing in the MCU being teased since the release of Homecoming. Well, it looks like Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, the producers of the latest animated film, have seen the threequel and can confirm Miles isn’t included but does add a curious tease of everyone being “part of the Spider-Verse.”

Of course, the question remains if they mean their take on Miles Morales or the character in general. It would be too much if they also introduce Morales in the film that is rumored to feature multiple Spider-Men from the multiverse. So, it’s best to keep him for a potential new trilogy as Parke takes on a more mentor role. He was mentored throughout this trilogy. So, it’s time for him to take on that role and open a path for a new kid to take on the mantle potentially.

  • Every Dimension To Have a Unique Art Style in ‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’

Every Dimension To Have a Unique Art Style in ‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’

After a long wait, the first trailer for Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse has finally dropped. The biggest surprise was not only that the upcoming release of Across the Spider-Verse is just the first part but also our glimpse into other dimensions. As Miles Morales fights the Spider-Man from 2099, we see that the dimensions don’t follow the same art style. Spider-Gwen’s animation style was also distinct when we got a glimpse of her world and it seems they will continue that by including a new animation for each dimension as confirmed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller in an interview with Entertainment Weekly.

This is a fantastic idea, as every dimension will stick out through its unique style of animation. It makes you wonder if we might get to see some familiar ones like the original 90s series or even Spectacular Spider-Man. It could let them revisit these storylines and voice actors to bring their interpretation of Pete Parker to life one more time. Here’s hoping we get some teases in the coming months ahead of the film’s release that offer a glimpse into what parts of the multiverse we’ll see.

  • Tom Holland on How ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ Leads Into ‘No Way Home’

Tom Holland on How ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ Leads Into ‘No Way Home’

It’s hard to believe we’re so close to finally watching Spider-Man: No Way Home. Even with all the rumors making the rounds, who knows at this point what is true and what isn’t. The trailers did tease that we can expect the storyline to pick up directly where Far From Home left us off, but it looks like we never realized just how close these two entries will be connected.

In an appearance on the Graham Norton Show, Tom Holland was promoting the upcoming film and even offered a little glimpse into how exactly the film will lead into the next. Well, it turns out that we’ll pick up directly where the previous one left us off, as Peter Parker was about to end it with a WTF.

What’s cool about this film is it picks up right after the second one finishes. So the second one finishes with a freeze-frame of Spider-Man, the third one starts with the same freeze-frame

    Tom Holland

It’s clever that they would continue exactly where that scene left us off. To many moviegoers, it probably was one of the biggest twists in the film and there’s a great concept to build upon. We’ll likely open the film with Spidey on the run alongside Zendaya until he gets captured or finds a hiding spot from the police. So, I wouldn’t expect the fanfare from Marvel Studios until that very moment.

  • EXCLUSIVE: ‘Morbius’ Filming Additional Scenes Involving Michael Keaton’s Vulture

EXCLUSIVE: ‘Morbius’ Filming Additional Scenes Involving Michael Keaton’s Vulture

Recently, during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Michael Keaton told the host that he would soon be reprising the role of Adrian Toomes, a character he first played in 2017’s Spider-Man: Homecoming and then again in Sony’s Morbius, which is set to release late next month. Keaton’s nonchalant, matter of fact delivery of the news set fans abuzz as they began to speculate on what property he might be working on. Fans began to wonder if we was doing some additional photography on Morbius or if he might be joining Spider-Man: No Way Home or if he was joining some unknown, mystery project.

While I have yet to hear Keaton’s name attached to Spider-Man: No Way Home, we can exclusively reveal that his work on his role in Morbius is still ongoing with just 7 weeks until release. Though we don’t have details on whether Keaton was working on reshoots or additional photography, the work isn’t done quite yet as scenes with the character will be filmed next week.

To this point, Keaton’s appearance in the footage that’s been released for Morbius point towards the character making what amounts to an extended cameo. However, if Sony has been filming scenes with the character for the past two weeks, it would seem like an attempt to beef up the role in the upcoming film. With Venom: Let There Be Carnage opening a way for character’s from Sony’s Marvel films to crossover into the MCU and with Amy Pascal indicating that Sony and Marvel Studios are continuing their collaboration, anything is possible in terms of what to expect from Keaton’s role in the future.

  • ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ Still Working on VFX Ahead of Release

‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ Still Working on VFX Ahead of Release

Just after breaking the final runtime for Spider-Man: No Way Home, Collider’s Steven Weintraub shared some additional information on Twitter which adds a curious detail to its current development. There were earlier reports about a potential runtime circling around, but big-budget films sometimes cut it close with releases. Turns out, No Way Home is in no way different from other blockbusters as its final VFX shots aren’t expected to get released until next week. The latest trailer did tease quite an effects-heavy film which will require an extensive bit of work.

Of course, as Weintraub points out, this isn’t uncommon in the industry and doesn’t mean the quality will suffer. Of course, it’s not great that the people involved with the project are probably doing quite an extensive amount of overtime to great the project finished in time. Here’s hoping that the team manages to find time to take it easy afterward and can be proud of the work they put in to bring the threequel to life on the silver screen.

  • ‘No Way Home’s Will Have the Longest Runtime for an MCU ‘Spider-Man’ Film

‘No Way Home’s Will Have the Longest Runtime for an MCU ‘Spider-Man’ Film

Not too long ago, first reports have found their way online about Spider-Man: No Way Home‘s runtime. It was hinted that it would run for two hours and 28 minutes. There is the chance they are still adapting parts of the film ahead of its release in a few weeks, and a new report by Collider has found its way online highlighting that it’ll be 2 hours and 30 minutes. So, it seems that they may have extended the cut slightly. So, it stands at 150 minutes which is ahead of Homecoming‘s 133 minutes and Far From Home‘s 129 minutes.

Collider highlights that the 150-minute mark does include the credits and it’s not known how many post-credit sequences might be included. To keep a tight lid on any eventual spoilers, there won’t be any press screenings until December 13th, which is the same day as its Los Angeles premiere. There are rumors of an early screening taking place for the initial 40 minutes of the film that offered a first taste of the upcoming release.

  • Benedict Cumberbatch on Doctor Strange’s Future Beyond ‘Multiverse of Madness’

Benedict Cumberbatch on Doctor Strange’s Future Beyond ‘Multiverse of Madness’

We still have some time before Doctor Strange gets his first sequel, Multiverse of Madness next year. Yet, Benedict Cumberbatch will be on the silver screen as the Sorcerer Supreme in just a few weeks, as he’ll appear in Spider-Man: No Way Home. He’ll help guide Peter Parker through the multiverse, as he faces an unlikely future with his identity out there. Of course, it does open the question of what does the future has in store for our favorite sorcerer. Seems that question was also nagging USA Today, as they asked the actor about it in a recent interview while he was promoting Power of the Dog. It looks like he is open to sticking around quite a bit longer, as he says that:

As long as the character is interesting and challenging and doing fantastic things in the MCU, why not.

    Benedict Cumberbatch

It’s always great to see an actor as talented as Cumberbatch committed to bringing these characters to life and even willing to stick around for a longer period of time. Chris Hemsworth famously wanted to leave the franchise after a certain amount of films until Taika Waititi came along and added a breath of fresh air to his franchise, reigniting that spark. We’ll see if a third or even fourth entry in the Doctor Strange franchise can add something new for the actor to dip his toes in and keep the enthusiasm going.

  • ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ LEGO Box Set Offers Closer Look at Scarlet Witch

‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ LEGO Box Set Offers Closer Look at Scarlet Witch

Just a few days ago, a Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness LEGO set has found its way online featuring a first look at Gargantos. It gave us a small glimpse at the packaging with a closer look at Xochitl Gomez as Miss America. Well, it seems that the box set has found its way online in higher quality thanks to @RPK_NEWS1, which also gives us a closer look at Scarlet Witch’s design for the upcoming film, as she stands alongside America, Strange, and Wong even as she was missing in the LEGO Set.

It looks like her design has remained mostly the same from when we saw her in WandaVision. Perhaps it highlights how the various Disney+ shows also help prepare costumes and designs ahead of their appearance in other projects. Adds a nice level of synergy, such as Abomination having a role in Shang-Chi ahead of his return in the She-Hulk series. Of course, there’s a chance they did make a few small changes, but we’ll only find out once we get a closer look at the full design.

  • Mahershala Ali’s Introduction to Blade was the 1998 Wesley Snipes Film

Mahershala Ali’s Introduction to Blade was the 1998 Wesley Snipes Film

Blade is technically the grandfather of Marvel’s cinematic ventures. When the Stephen Norrington-directed film was released in 1998, it revolutionized not only superhero films for many years to come, but also played an integral role in representation within cinemas. Soon, Mahershala Ali will take on that very role as part of a wider universe, the fittingly titled Marvel Cinematic Universe.

While still professionally avoiding questions on the project, Variety’s Awards Circuit Podcast got a chance to ask the actor how he was introduced to the character. It seems, he went through the same story as many of us, as he states that:

Well, only what I discovered like everyone else in the 90s with Wesley Snipes. […] I don’t think the guy even notice how at that time I was just accustomed to there not being black superheroes. The best you got was, like, He-Man, there was, I forget the character’s name in that, there was supposed to be a black character. At least, he was voiced by a black guy and modeled after a black guy, […] but you just weren’t seeing anyone. Once Spawn came out and Blade, then it was really exciting just to have some superheroes that look like you.

    Mahershala Ali

It once again highlights how rare it was back in the day for kids of any age to feel represented in media. While downplayed, many kids from different backgrounds look for heroes they can look up to. So, there’s an important reason why Ali is tacking on the role and its importance of carrying on the torch that was lit by Black Panther, as he also briefly discusses in the podcast.

  • ‘Quantumania’ Crew Merch Includes Cracked Ant-Man Helmet and Popular Kang Fan Artwork

‘Quantumania’ Crew Merch Includes Cracked Ant-Man Helmet and Popular Kang Fan Artwork

Just recently, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania wrapped production. Everyone has kept an eye out on the Internet if some crew merch might find its way online and luckily exactly that happened. Ace Ruele shared a t-shirt the stunt team used that had quite an interesting tease. What sticks out is that Paul Rudd‘s Ant-Man helmet is heavily damaged and cracked, which may not bode well for our favorite size-changing hero. If you look closer you’ll see Kang in the helmet’s reflection that may be familiar to people.

If you look closely, it turns out its fanart from artist spdrmnkyxxiii that you can find online based on what Jonathan Majors could look like as Kang. It’s not uncommon for these to find their way online and crew merch is commonly not created by official sources but brought to life by the teams. They sometimes tease elements of the film or TV show but don’t include actual artwork. Still, it’s a great design.

    https://twitter.com/AceRuele/status/1462806940053028869

Here’s the original design as shared by the artist back in September of 2020 that seemingly was used in the stunt team’s crew merch:

It’s still a great tease and highlights once again that Kang the Conqueror will have quite a large role in the upcoming story. We know very little about Quantumania and the usual comedic Ant-Man franchise might face quite the shakeup. The cracked helmet is quite foreboding especially with how involved the stunt team is in the action. We’ll see what the future has in store for Scott Lang.
