  • Leaked Set Footage From ‘Thor: Love & Thunder’ Reshoots

Production on Marvel Studios’ Thor: Love & Thunder wrapped principal photography in June. Now, it appears as though reshoots may be underway. Twitter user @dustmar23 posted photos of what appears to be the crew from Love & Thunder readying for additional photography. While no cast is visible the Love & Thunder logo is visible on the back of a crew member’s chair.

The lucky fan was also able to capture some video footage from the set. For those fearful of spoilers, no need to be concerned as there are no apparent spoilers.

The only thing visible is the apartment building where reshoots are occurring.

When it comes to large blockbusters, reshoots are usually planned for upfront. So, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that Love & Thunder is undergoing additional photography.

Thor: Love & Thunder was one of the few Marvel Studios films not to see its release date adjusted earlier this month. As it stands, the highly-anticipated film is slated to hit the big screen on July 8, 2022. It will see Chris Hemsworth reunite with Natalie Portman, who returns as Jane Foster.

  • ‘WandaVision’ Actress Kathryn Hahn Plays Coy on ‘Agatha Harkness’ Spinoff

‘WandaVision’ Actress Kathryn Hahn Plays Coy on ‘Agatha Harkness’ Spinoff

Earlier this month, it was revealed that actress Kathryn Hahn would reprise her role as Agatha Harkness from WandaVision. However, Marvel Studios not only put an Agatha series into development from WandaVision head scribe Jac Schaeffer, but it also confirmed the actress would return for other Marvel Studios films and series.

Hahn, of course, stole the show as Agatha in WandaVision, with many fans questioning if and when the actress would return in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. If fans are to believe Hahn regarding Agatha’s return, though, nothing looks to be set in stone. Marvel Studios, on the other hand, clearly has plans for her.

While the spinoff is in development, Hahn is opting to play coy regarding her involvement. While walking the carpet for The Shrink Next Door, Hahn was quick to sidestep any questions regarding the project. “I don’t even know if there is such a thing as a WandaVision spinoff, Honey,” she says to the interviewer. “I have to be honest… All I can say is I love Agatha, and as we know, anything can happen with Marvel. So, who knows?”

All episodes of WandaVision are currently streaming on Disney+.

As it stands, the planned Agatha Harkness series is still in development with no release date planned.

  • Kevin Feige Seems to Confirm ‘What If…?’ Live-Action Crossovers

Kevin Feige Seems to Confirm ‘What If…?’ Live-Action Crossovers

Marvel Studios’ fourth Disney+ installment, What If…? was noteworthy for several reasons. On one hand, it was the studio’s first dive into animation which showcased shorter, mostly standalone stories that remixed movies from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In other cases, the series managed to tell almost entirely new stories as well. But What If…?’s most important aspect may have been the fact that it was also the MCU’s first look at its own multiverse.

Even though the animated form of the series tends to lessen the perceived importance of the What If…? stories to the greater MCU, it has been rumored before that its characters and concepts may find their way into live-action in the future. Now, it seems as though What If…? crossovers are confirmed.

In the new Marvel Studios: Assembled episode that showcases how What If…? was created, Producer Brad Winderbaum states:

What If…? gives us an opportunity to tell stories with a whole new idea of what the physical reality of the universe is. That is something that’s gonna be explored in other ways moving forward in our films.”

    Brad Winderbaum

The President of Marvel Studios himself, Kevin Feige also added:

“I really believe the deepening fictional mythologies is a way to appreciate them more, is a way to understand them more, look at them in a different way. They’ve got now two seasons of What If…? ideas underway that’s some of the best storytelling we’ve ever had that you may see spin into other mediums. It’s really the most uniquely beautiful animated series I’ve seen in a long time.”

    Kevin Feige

It is safe to say that down the line, some of What If…?‘s characters, or even storylines, from episodes like What If…Zombies!? will almost certainly appear in some form in the live-action MCU Universe. Whether these are brief cameos or total animation-to-live-action transitions remains unknown. Either way, we will continue to see more What If…? content as Season 2 of the series is confirmed and its episodes are already written.

  • REPORT: ‘Okoye’ Set To Begin Production in 2023

REPORT: ‘Okoye’ Set To Begin Production in 2023

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is growing faster than it ever has before, with so many new characters bringing a ton of new stories to tell. Disney+ has given the cinematic universe a whole new playing field to expand and develop more projects with some of the most beloved characters in comics. Smaller characters with overflowing, with potential such as Agatha Harkness, and even Okoye, are scoring solo projects that’ll be able to explore their characters better than their mothership projects were ever able to.

Back in May, we learned that actress Danai Gurira would reprise her role as Okoye, leader of the Dora Milaje, for her very own solo project. It was reported that this series would be separate from the previously announced Wakanda project from Ryan Coogler, most likely diving into Okoye’s origins and upbringing as she trained and climbed the ranks of the Dora. In a new report from GWW, the site has revealed that the spin-off series is currently set to begin production sometime in 2023 alongside projects like Fantastic FourNova, and the highly anticipated sequel to Shang-Chi and the Legend of The Ten Rings.

The project is currently believed to be a streaming series on Disney+, yet another series in the ever-expanding slate that will hit the streaming service. There isn’t much known about the project aside from Gurira reprising her role and Ryan Coogler most likely developing it as part of his five-year overall deal between his production company, Proximity Media, and Disney.

  • James Gunn Confirms the Guardians of the Galaxy Were Originally Set to Debut in Marvel One-Shots

James Gunn Confirms the Guardians of the Galaxy Were Originally Set to Debut in Marvel One-Shots

Marvel Studios’ Guardians of the Galaxy introduced a brand new cast of characters to the Marvel Cinematic Universe with immense success, but it looks like debuting all of the titular characters at once wasn’t the original plan. In an excerpt from the new book, The Story of Marvel Studios, famed Marvel boss Kevin Feige reveals each Guardian was going to debut in individual Marvel One-Shots.

    He explained:

We toyed with the idea of doing short films on Drax, on Rocket and Groot, and on Gamora, leading up to Guardians. This One-Shot series would have led into the Guardians movie proper – which would have also been directly preceded by a fourth self-contained short film about a mysterious kid who loved fantasy things. Then you’d start Guardians. And half-way through, we would reveal that big space hero is the kid from the short. We thought that would be clever, but it was too much.

Taking to Twitter, the franchise’s helmer James Gunn confirmed the information and elaborated on it further. The filmmaker revealed he had been set to write and direct the shorts. In fact, he had even gotten as far as storyboarding and filming scenes for a Rocket & Groot One-Shot.

    https://twitter.com/JamesGunn/status/1452764256311578624?s=20

The above Twitter thread reveals that Gunn also wrote a part for fan-favorite nerd actor Alan Tudyk in Rocket and Groot’s origin story. Gunn even goes on to say the shelved shorts are still canon in his head.

Of course, much of what the One-Shots would have entailed ended up being included in Guardians of the Galaxy. In the end, it’s likely the shorts not seeing the light of day may have been for the best. However, that doesn’t seem to have stopped Gunn from feeling hopeful about a potential resurrection of the One-Shots in the future.

Marvel Studios’ Kevin Feige Talks the Reshuffling of Release Dates

On Monday morning, Marvel Studios and Disney surprised everyone when multiple release dates were shifted. Unfortunately, at the time of the press release, the reasoning behind the changes was not made apparent. During the premiere of Eternals, though, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige briefly touched upon the release date changes, citing production shifts for the change.

While on the blue carpet for Eternals, Feige was asked about the release date shuffling and indicated there’s no reason for fans to worry. “It’s production shifts and changes,” he explained. “Because we have so many slots, we can just shift spots, so… we’re just shifting the movies coming out.”

As it stands, the new release dates are as follow:

    November 5, 2021: Eternals

  • Tom Holland Calls ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ a Conclusion to the Trilogy

Tom Holland Calls ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ a Conclusion to the Trilogy

Every story has an ending and for actor Tom Holland, Spider-Man: No Way Home will serve as an ending to the trilogy to director Jon Watts‘ trilogy. In a new interview with Entertainment Weekly, Holland recalls what it was like to film No Way Home, revealing that the cast and crew treated it as an end to the franchise. “We were all treating [No Way Home] as the end of a franchise,” he said.

Holland then followed up his comment by suggesting there’s still plenty more of Spider-Man to come, but perhaps with a different vision next time. “I think if we were lucky enough to dive into these characters again, you’d be seeing a very different version,” he explained. “It would no longer be the Homecoming trilogy. We would give it some time and try to build something different and tonally change the films. Whether that happens or not, I don’t know. But we were definitely treating [No Way Home] like it was coming to an end, and it felt like it.”

Holland has been working on these films for five years now. Over those five years, he has built a close relationship with Watts and his co-stars. While filming on one of his last days on set, Holland became emotional alongside Zendaya and Jacob Batalon. “We’ve done every single film, every single press tour,” he stated. “So this one scene, [we didn’t know] if this would be the last time [we were all working together.] [It] was heartbreaking but also really exciting because we’re all moving into the next chapter of our careers.”

Holland’s comments, of course, should not be too surprising. Watts has already been announced as the director for Fantastic 4 for Marvel Studios, an indication his time with Spider-Man is done. As for Spider-Man, his story can continue with a new director. For now, though, we’ll have to see what will happen.

Spider-Man: No Way Home hits theaters on Dec. 17.

  • Jonathan Majors Talks Transitioning From He Who Remains to Kang the Conqueror

Jonathan Majors Talks Transitioning From He Who Remains to Kang the Conqueror

Actor Jonathan Majors is set to play the villainous Kang the Conqueror in the upcoming Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Majors is in an interesting position after having indirectly introduced his character in the season finale of the Loki series. Having portrayed a variant of Kang known as He Who Remains, a burning question is how the two characters will be different from one another. Asked by Variety how he will handle the transition between his portrayals of the two characters, Majors said:

Well it’s a different script, so there’s that…different writers and I’m shooting in a different country, so there’s that. And you know, He Who Remains is in the world now, so there’s so much we know about him…there’s [] 40 minutes of that guy and that narrative, and so it really set me up to tell a story and get another canvas with more players this time. It’s not the incredible Tom Hiddleston…I’m dealing with Paul Rudd and Evangeline and the likes of the Ant-Man family.

    Jonathan Majors

Ant-Man himself Paul Rudd has praised Majors’ work and performance for the upcoming film. It looks like Majors has some praise for Rudd as well, as Majors also stated:

Paul’s a veteran. And you know, we don’t have the Avengers without Ant-Man. He’s our leader on set…He’s been instrumental in allowing me to kind of land, you know, in the world. It’s his set, it’s his franchise, and he’s been beautiful.

    Jonathan Majors

Just going off of the words of the two actors, it looks like Ant-Man and Kang the Conqueror are set to be quite formidable characters and instrumental to the growing Marvel Cinematic Universe as well as its new multiverse. The upcoming third installment of the Ant-Man franchise is currently in production in London and is on track to hit theaters on Feb. 17, 2023.

  • Paul Rudd Praises Jonathan Major’s Kang in ‘Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantamania’

Paul Rudd Praises Jonathan Major’s Kang in ‘Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantamania’

The finale of Loki left fans with so many burning questions as to what comes next for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as the shadow of Kang the Conquerer looms over the now branching multiverse. While we have yet to only met He Who Remains, Jonathan Majors will make his return to the MCU in Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantamania. Majors will finally don the mantle of the Conquerer, setting up a new era of chaos for Earth’s mightiest heroes.

In a recent interview for Ghostbusters: Afterlife, with Ant-Man himself, Paul Rudd praised Jonathan Major‘s performance as Kang The Conqueror. Obviously, Rudd remains quite silent on just what’s happening within the film but made sure to prepare audiences for what Major’s is about to bring to the MCU.

“I’ve loved everything he’s done, and I see what he’s doing in this, and I’m knocked out by it. It is really fun to bring new people into the fold, and the enthusiasm that people have is palpable.”

It’ll be interesting to see just how Kang makes his way the main timeline and why he chose that specific one. It’ll also be exciting to see how different Majors plays the role compared to how he did with He Who Remains. The upcoming third installment in the Ant-Man trilogy is currently in production in London. Most of the main cast from the first two films is returning, including Corey Stoll, who did not appear in Ant-Man and the Wasp. The film will hit theaters on Feb. 17, 2023.
