A New Rumor Potentially Reveals the Villain of Marvel Studios ‘Fantastic Four’

In 2019, Kevin Feige announced that Marvel Studios was developing a Fantastic Four film much to the excitement of fans of the property. Four years and two directos later, little is known about the upcoming project. No actors have been announced for any member of the First Family and only the vaguest of rumored details about the potential plot have made their way online. However, according to a new rumor, the film’s villain may have been revealed.

Twitter users My Time To Shine Hello and Tom Smith have indicated that Galactus will be the villain of 2025’s Fantastic Four.

The rumors kicked off during a Q&A with My Time To Shine Hello. When asked who the main villain of the project would be, she simply stated “Galactus.” A matter of hours later, Smith backed up the claim that Galactus would be involved.

Starting off the franchise with a threat such as Galactus would be a bold move for Marvel Studios. While the character is one of the most well-known antagonists of the team in the comics, it’s been generally believed Marvel would start out with a less enormous threat. It’s unknown what route director Matt Shakman‘s adaptation of the character might take, but hopefully, if the rumors are true, fans will get to see Galactus fully revealed as Jack Kirby intended and not a cloud of cosmic dust in the wind.

  • UPDATED: New Rumor Has James Gunn Eyeing Release Date, Star for ‘Superman’

UPDATED: New Rumor Has James Gunn Eyeing Release Date, Star for ‘Superman’

    ***UPDATE***

James Gunn has responded to the rumor by indicating nobody has been cast as Superman and that casting won’t happen until the script is complete.

As the new year marches on, fans are still eagerly awaiting word from James Gunn and Peter Safran on the first wave of films forthcoming from the newly formed DC Studios. With Gunn currently writing a script for a new Superman film–one that will not feature Henry Cavill returning to the role–it’s likely that project will be among that anticipated first wave and a new rumor indicates it might be happening sooner than you’d think.

Rumor mill generator deuxmoi has shared some info on Gunn’s Superman project that’s sure to get people talking. According to the individual, Gunn is targeting a Summer 2025 release date for the new film, which he will direct. Additionally, the rumor indicates that a frontrunner may have emerged for the role of Kal-El; though deuxmoi didn’t explicitly name an actor, the hints given (Australian…Netflix romcom trilogy…HBO Max teen show) would seem to point at Jacob Elordi. Elordi, who starred in the Kissing Booth and Euphoria, has been a somewhat popular choice for the role on social media and fits the bill for Gunn’s vision of a younger Superman.

Given Gunn’s track record with addressing rumors associated with his projects, fans may know a lot more about the veracity of this one soon.

  • ‘Vision Quest’ Series May Introduce One of Marvel Comics Champions

‘Vision Quest’ Series May Introduce One of Marvel Comics Champions

Paul Bettany‘s Vision has had quite a run in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. From weapon of mass destruction to family man to weapon of mass destruction again, Vision has often found himself a pawn. One thing Vision has not done much of, however, is to write his own story but that might be something the blank slate White Vision gets a chance to do in the upcoming Vision Quest streaming series and a new rumor points in that direction.

In a series of rumors from an anonymous source shared by the mods at r/MarvelStudiosSpoilers, there’s a compelling nugget of information about a potential plot point of Vision Quest. The rumor suggests that Bettany’s White Vision, last seen flying off from his battle inside the Hex in the final of WandaVision, will gain a daughter during the series: Viv Vision. In the comics, Viv Vision is a synthezoid created, along with her brother Vin and his wife, Virgina, by Vision to allow him to explore the complexities of the human family unit. Things did not go as planned for the Visions (as told in Tom King’s wonderful 12-issue run on Vision) but eventually Viv found herself a spot on a team of young heroes known as The Champions.

The adaptation and exploration of Tom King‘s excellent work on the comics would come as no surprise to those who have read it and the idea that the White Vision would be interested in starting from scratch to study the emotions associated with a family make sense. While he possesses the memories of the original Vision, the White Vision will certainly need to have his own experiences to understand the idea of a family unit given that Wanda and Vision’s Hex family would NOT be part of said memories.

Vision Quest is being developed by WandaVision and Agatha: Coven of Chaos showrunner Jac Schaeffer and currently has no release window.

  • ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ Rumored to Put Unique Spin on Key ‘Avengers: Endgame’ Moments

‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ Rumored to Put Unique Spin on Key ‘Avengers: Endgame’ Moments

Even though it’s still over 3 years away from hitting theaters, there’s no shortage of rumors out there about the plot of Avengers: Secret Wars. With the script still under construction by Michael Waldron and no director officially on board at present, it’s best to consider any and every one of those rumors as nothing more than fun discussion points for the time being, including a new one from Heavy Spoilers that establishes an interesting parallel to the events of Avengers: Endgame.

According to the YouTuber (via Twitter), Avengers: Secret Wars will put its own spin on the time heist that was central to the plot of Avengers: Endgame. The rumor alleges that rather than traveling to “key points” in the timeline of the MCU, as in Endgame, Secret Wars will see the heroes “traveling to key universes” within the Multiverse. Should this end up being accurate, it would seem to indicate that the 2026 saga-ender will be heavily inspired by Jonathan Hickman‘s 2015 comic book event of the same name.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness gave MCU fans a taste of a few alternate Earths, including Earth-838 which introduced John Krasinski‘s Reed Richards, Anson Mount‘s Black Bolt and Patrick Stewart‘s Charles Xavier as members of the Illuminati alongside Variants of Haley Atwell‘s Peggy Carter, Chiwetel Ejiofor‘s Mordo and Lahsana Lynch‘s Maria Rambeau. Dream walking Scarlet Witch made sure there wasn’t much there to go back to, so if the rumor pans out, it’s likely Waldron is busy populating some new Earths with some interesting new characters for 2026!

Of course, the Endgame time heist was all about collecting the Infinity Stones necessary to defeat Thanos, so could bopping around the Multiverse be about putting together the Multiversal Avengers that are rumored to be a key factor in Secret Wars? If so, who could be leading the Multiversal excursion!? Again, we’re in rumor territory here, which makes for some fun speculation as we wait for some sort of official word from Marvel Studios.

  • New Avengers and Multiversal Avengers Lineups Rumored for ‘The Kang Dynasty’ and ‘Secret Wars’

New Avengers and Multiversal Avengers Lineups Rumored for ‘The Kang Dynasty’ and ‘Secret Wars’

The MCU has gotten much larger since Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame wrapped up the Infinity Saga. Thanks in part to Disney Plus, new heroes and villains have quickly accumulated and with two years to go until the next Avengers double-feature kicks off with Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, those numbers will surely continue to grow. With so many new heroes joining those who survived Endgame, putting together a team of heroes to take on Kang the Conqueror shouldn’t be too hard. However, with Secret Wars set to follow up shortly after, are there too many heroes?

A new rumor from @MyTimeToShineH suggests that in order to keep the runtime of Secret Wars a little more manageable, Earth-616’s Avengers will be the main focus of The Kang Dynasty but kept to the sidelines for most of Secret Wars, which will “focus on the heroes from other universes.” It sounds like the events of the 2026 film will involve a group of Multiversal Avengers!

Those other heroes could be from Fox’s Fantastic Four or X-Men films, the Sam Raimi or Marc Webb Spider-Man films or other universes populated with versions of heroes that haven’t been visited yet. It’s an interesting rumor that also happens to fit most peoples’ wishes for the film. Given the previous rumor about Hugh Jackman and Tobey Maguire fighting alongside each other, it would seem that they’d be leading the squad. What characters would you like to see on the team of Multiversal Avengers?

  • ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ Rumored to Feature an Epic Marvel Team-up

‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ Rumored to Feature an Epic Marvel Team-up

Avengers: Endgame brought together heroes from every corner of the Marvel Cinematic Universe for one of the most memorable action sequences of all time. How can Avengers: Secret Wars top that portal scene? By bringing together heroes from every corner of every Marvel movie universe. And a new rumor suggests that’s just what will happen.

@MyTimeToShineH has shared that Tobey Maguire and Hugh Jackman are rumored to team-up and fight “alongside” each other in Marvel Studios big saga-ending event in 2026.

Maguire recently revisited the role of Peter Parker in Spider-Man: No Way Home, Jackman finalized a deal to return as Wolverine in Deadpool 3 and both actors have been rumored to make an appearance in Avengers: Secret Wars. Seeing their respective versions of these characters, who were the superheroes of the 2000s, come together on screen would certainly be the type of major crossover that would allow Secret Wars to feel “bigger” than Endgame. However, given that the script for the film is still being written and production is years away, don’t get too attached to any ideas about Secret Wars no matter how great they might sound.

  • New Rumor Reveals the Avengers Final Foe in ‘Secret Wars’

New Rumor Reveals the Avengers Final Foe in ‘Secret Wars’

As Phase 5 prepares to kick off soon with Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania, fans are just starting to get a sense of what Marvel Studios Multiverse Saga is going to truly all about. After the revelation that the new saga will conclude in 2026 with Avengers: Secret Wars, fans have been sure that someone other than Jonathan Majors‘ Kang would be the villain of the piece. It turns out they may have been right…sort of.

A new rumor from Twitter user MyTimeToShineHello has revealed that Secret Wars is set to introduce a classic Marvel Comics character and the entity behind the original 1984 Secret Wars event: the Beyonder. The rumor comes with a twist, however, in that the MCU’s version of the Beyonder will be yet another Variant of Majors’ character.

While a lot of online conversation about a potential villain centered on Doctor Doom, who was the primary antagonist of the 2015 version of Secret Wars, it seems, if the rumor is true, that Marvel Studios has chosen to make their big saga-ender a mashup of the 1984 and 2015 events with both incursions and the Beyonder playing roles.

  • Marvel Studios Developing a Pair of Follow-ups to ‘Werewolf By Night’ (Rumor)

Marvel Studios Developing a Pair of Follow-ups to ‘Werewolf By Night’ (Rumor)

Marvel Studios has had to learn and adjust on the fly over the past two years as they’ve rolled out streaming content onto Disney Plus. The first batch of streaming series was greatly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and the second wave of series was, according to social media, too long and too short all at once. Part of the adjustment to that criticism was the evolution of Special Presentations, two of which debuted to leave reviews late this year and, it seems, Marvel Studios is going with the old axiom of “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it” when it comes to those.

A new rumor from insider Daniel RPK indicates that after the howling success of their first Special Presentation, Werewolf By Night, Marvel Studios has two more Halloween-themed specials in the works. There’s no word on what characters or teams might be the focus of these two follow-ups but there’s also no shortage of intriguing possibilities.

One Above All Kevin Feige has been keen on bringing Marvel’s Spirit of Vengeance, Ghost Rider, to the MCU and a Johnny Blaze Special Presentation might help the head honcho speed up his rumored goal of getting Danny Ketch into the fray sooner rather than later. Another possibility could simply be a direct sequel to Werewolf By Night that follows up the continuing adventures of Jack Russell, Ted/Man-Thing and Elsa. Of course, outside of these two possibilities, there exists any number of new characters that the studio may wish to introduce ahead of a potential Midnight Sons team-up that Moon Knight star Oscar Isaac is championing or the must-see-TV that would be a Legion of Monsters series.

This is certainly one of the most reasonable and realistic rumors we’ve heard this week and while it’s hard to pin down who to expect, it seems a safe bet that a Werewolf By Night follow-up or two is on the way.

  • RUMOR: Marvel Studios Chasing Academy Award-Winning Actress for Major Role in ‘Captain America: New World Order’

RUMOR: Marvel Studios Chasing Academy Award-Winning Actress for Major Role in ‘Captain America: New World Order’

Captain America: New World Order has made more than its fair share of news lately as rumors of its plot have gotten fans excited about the possibilities for the 2024 film. The plot is heavily rumored to involve the discovery of Adamantium on the corpse of Tiamut, the Celestial who had been growing inside Earth and was killed in Eternals. If that’s the case, Sam Wilson’s first theatrical outing as Captain America is shaping up to be a wild ride as it will see Sam and a group of heroes foil some sort of villainous plot to obtain the Adamantium hatched by Harrison Ford‘s Thaddeus Ross, Julia Louis-Dreyfus‘ CIA Director Valentina Allegre de Fontain and Tim Blake Nelson‘s Leader. Now, a spicy new rumor sure to be a YouTube pundit pleaser has another villain joining the fray and Marvel Studios has an Oscar-winning actress in mind for the role.

Twitter user MyTimeToShineHello claims that Jessica Chastain, who as you all remember well played the memorable villain Vuk in Simon Kinberg‘s magnum opus, Dark Phoenix, is Marvel Studios’ choice for the “main villain” of Captain America: New World Order.

This is a spicy rumor, to be sure, given that whatever character Marvel Studios allegedly wants Chastain to portray is now the third character that’s been described as the main villain of the film. If the film’s plot does indeed revolve around the discovery of Adamantium on Tiamut’s body, which resides in the Indian Ocean, the rumor that the film would have multiple heroes and villains does make sense, however, as it would stand to reason that governments around the world would want to get their hands on the precious metal for their own ends. Given Chastain’s prominence and the number of juicy roles she could be up for, this rumor is one worth keeping an eye on as production on Captain America: New World Order draws nearer.

  • Marvel Studios Reportedly Shifts Gears in Development of ‘Nova’ Project

Marvel Studios Reportedly Shifts Gears in Development of ‘Nova’ Project

Marvel Studios is developing a Nova project, of this we can be sure. Originally thought to be a steaming series written by Moon Knight’s Sabir Pirzada, online chatter of it being developed as a Special Presentation in the mold of Werewolf By Night and The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special emerged a few months ago. To make sure all the bases are covered, a new rumor has the project now being developed as a feature film.

According to MyTimeToShine, Marvel Studios is keen on bringing the adventures of the Human Rocket to the big screen.

Ultimately, it doesn’t really matter how the studio brings the character into the shared cinematic universe, only that they do. With Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 set to be the final chapter for that particular iteration of Cosmic heroes, the MCU will need a new Cosmic champion and nobody from their expansive roster of comic book characters fits the bill better than Richard Rider.
