Eagle-Eyed Fans Notice ‘Star Wars’ Tease in New ‘Kingdom Hearts 4’ Trailer

After a long wait, Kingdom Hearts 4 has finally been confirmed. Not only that, but we even got a first teaser trailer that reveals Sora stuck in Quadratum. The location is strongly inspired by real-life Shibuya, which was teased in the Kingdom Hearts 3 DLC. It looks like a new direction for the franchise with a more hyper-realistic design moving forward. goofy and Donald do make an appearance, but it seems like the franchise is heading in a new direction. Yet, some eagle-eyed fans may have noticed a tiny detail that might be part of an AT-ST from the Star Wars franchise.

As the following tweet from @dallin1016 highlights, it seems that the leg of an All Terrain Scout Transporter, better known as an AT-ST, is hiding in the background. Some believe that the location might even be part of Endor. While the trailer teases an open-world concept, perhaps we’ll see multiple worlds connected to one world. While most of us hoped to see more Square Enix representation after their absence in Kingdom Hearts 3, it does seem that Disney will still have a role of some kind.

Influencer JSkeleton has also highlighted this connection, as many more notice this detail in the trailer. Of course, this also opens up theories that we might even see Marvel make an appearance in the upcoming fourth entry. While most of the franchises focused on Disney, and most recently Pixar franchises, it does make sense for them to expand as Marvel and Lucasfilm are Disney subsidiaries. Plus, an open world with many franchises connected could create a very unique experience for Kingdom Hearts that also unshackles them from some of the restrictions we saw in the previous entry. Here’s hoping they continue to tease it moving forward.

  • ‘Sonic the Hedgehog 2’ is Paramount’s Best Opening Weekend Since 2014 With $71M

‘Sonic the Hedgehog 2’ is Paramount’s Best Opening Weekend Since 2014 With $71M

Sonic the Hedgehog 2 has beaten expectations by a longshot, as it now stands tall at a $71M opening weekend at the domestic box office. It’s a strong win not only for the family market, which has suffered the most during the pandemic, but it also is the biggest opening weekend for Paramount since 2014. Not just that, it now also holds the title of biggest opening for any video game adaptation.

Paramount must’ve predicted how strong the film would perform, as they not only announced the sequel ahead of its release but even planned a spinoff series for Paramount+ focused on the newly introduced Knuckles. So, it seems that the company has quite the franchise on its hand that manages to find a distinct market within other cinematic universes going for all four quadrants.

Globally, the film now stands at $141M, which isn’t too bad for a film that may have a stronger domestic audience. Its only challenger will be the next Fantastic Beasts that’ll open next weekend. For now, it looks like they definitely have another hit on their hand. Sadly, it seems Michael Bay‘s new Ambulance was struggling at the box office, as the film opened with $8.7M over the weekend. Globally it stands only at $31M.

Morbius took a harsh drop with 74% in its second weekend, even if it still managed to hold on to the second spot. It now stands at $126.3M worldwide but a far cry from what Venom: Let There Be Carnage accomplished a few months prior. The Lost City stuck to the third spot with $9.2M over the weekend.

The Batman is also noteworthy this weekend, as it currently stands at $735.1M worldwide for which it made $359M domestically. While a billion doesn’t seem realistic after all, it should still manage to near $800M once it ends its run in theaters. Of course, it is going to be available on HBO Max rather soon, which could also leave a dent in that.

  • ‘Kingdom Hearts 4’ Announced During 20th Anniversary Event, New Key Art Released

‘Kingdom Hearts 4’ Announced During 20th Anniversary Event, New Key Art Released

It’s been a long wait for fans of the Kingdom Hearts franchise, but the big event has finally taken place. Many were hoping to see some kind of announcement on the franchise’s future after it took a vow of silence in 2021. Once the doors opened to the Japan-exclusive event, some have been sharing pictures from the event and it seems that the key art of the event gave us our first tease of a fourth entry in the franchise.

While some doubted if the visual is actually teasing the fourth entry, even if the placement and showcase of Sora counting down with his various costumes seemed like an obvious hint. Luckily, it seems an announcement was done behind closed doors, but luckily @aitaikimochi shared some insights into what the announcement included.

Shortly after, the official Kingdom Hearts account dropped the full trailer including all the announcements for the event, which offers our first glimpse at a very different version of the franchise taking place within Quadratum.

It looks like quite the departure from what we’ve seen from the franchise so far, especially with a completely revamped art style and the modern setting hinted at by the Re:Mind DLC’s secret boss. We even get a glimpse of combat that remains a bit flowing but with more interactive elements. It also seems like it might be moving away from visiting multiple worlds but focusing on one singular location. So, perhaps Kingdom Hearts 4 is an open-world game. For now, that is sadly all we know.

  • More ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ Marvel Legends Leaks Offers Closer Look at Christian Bale’s Gorr

More ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ Marvel Legends Leaks Offers Closer Look at Christian Bale’s Gorr

While we’re still waiting for any sign of life for the upcoming fourth entry of the Thor franchise titled Love and Thunder, merchandise dropped to offer our first look at the various additions to the franchise. We got our first look at Jane Foster’s transformation into Might Thor, and only a few hours ago the first look at Christian Bale‘s Gorr the God Butcher.

While the toy itself only offered a glimpse of a very different interpretation of the character, the side covers of the Marel Legend collection have also leaked with our breast look yet, as provided by @lovethundernews. The line also includes Star-Lord’s updated design and even Thor’s rock-inspired outfit that seemingly has the Nine Realms printed on the shirt.

There are some curious details with Gorr that stand out. He does have some seemingly scaly skin. So maybe we’ll see him transform throughout the film, as he becomes more and more inhuman as time goes on. His fingertips are also black, which could hint at some magic being involved with his ability. Who knows if it’s connected to Chaos magic as well.

We know the Venom symbiote now exists in the MCU, but it seems unlikely that he’d already created the All-Black blade based on a little being from a different dimension. Speculation is going to be quite interesting going forward, as we get more from the upcoming release, which is still eyeing a July release without a trailer having been released so far.

  • RUMOR: Arden Cho May Have Joined Netflix’s ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’

RUMOR: Arden Cho May Have Joined Netflix’s ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’

Netflix has been busy developing its live-action adaptations of popular animated series from all over the world. One of the biggest on their list is the upcoming adaptation of Avatar: The Last Airbender, which will once again revisit the story of Aang, as he travels through the world to embrace his future as the Avatar while mastering all four elements. We got a good glimpse of the upcoming adaptation of the first season, but it looks like one more actress may have joined the production.

According to Knight Edge Media, actress Arden Cho may have joined the production in an unspecific role. There have been theories about her potentially joining due to her being in Vancouver for a month filming an unnamed project. She shared this information on her official Twitter back in March.

The actress made her big splash in the industry as Kira Yukimura on Teen Wolf, where she recently refused to return due to being only offered half the salary as her male co-stars. She’s gone on to have various guest roles on Castle, Hawaii Five-0, and even got a recurring role with Chicago Med.

With it being unclear who she might be playing, there are quite a few roles to fill for the first season. We know that it’ll likely adapt Book 1 from the original animated series. So, she could have a role as part of the Fire Nation, who’s going to face off against the Northern Water Tribe. She may also be part of the Earth Kingdom and is a tease for what’s to come in the future. We’ll see if this rumor turns out true once we get a first look at the series.

  • ‘Sonic the Hedgehog 2’ Speeds Past Expectations to Potential $70M Domestic Opening

‘Sonic the Hedgehog 2’ Speeds Past Expectations to Potential $70M Domestic Opening

It looks like Sonic the Hedgehog is a bonafide box office draw now, as the sequel has become the first true giant family film to release at the box office. At this rate, the film is on its way to $67M, but could even pull in around $69M at the domestic box office. It nabbed an impressive $26.5M on Friday in 4,234 theaters across North America, which also includes its still impressive $7M from Thursday previews. As such, it is currently already $10M ahead of its predicted income and if it keeps up the momentum could go even further.

It’s also one of the few films to manage to top its predecessor, which managed to open to $58M back in 2020. The benefit was that they managed to roll out the film right before the pandemic hit. While the Ben Schwartz-led project wasn’t able to keep up the usual momentum, it still performed quite well and it’s great to see that the success carried over into the latest entry. As of now, Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is definitely taking the top spot for the weekend.

Other films struggled a bit this weekend, as Michael Bay‘s Ambulance didn’t quite muster enough energy, as it pulled in $3.2M on Friday. It currently is on its way to making $8.1M over the weekend even with its strong push via IMAX and premium formats. Morbius wasn’t doing much better, as it faced a massive 70% drop in its second weekend and seemingly lost all momentum after the negative word-of-mouth with it getting one of the lowest CinemaScore for a Marvel film.

  • First Look at ‘Jurassic World Dominion’s New Dinosaur “Giga”

First Look at ‘Jurassic World Dominion’s New Dinosaur “Giga”

Every new entry of the Jurassic World franchise comes with some fun additions, such as a brand new dinosaur that makes the life of our favorite character’s a living nightmare. When the first film was released back in 2015, we met the Indominus Rex. We even got the next evolution of that species in the sequel Fallen Kingdom with the Indoraptor. The third entry, Jurassic World Dominion, will continue that very tradition with the introduction of the new Giganotosaurus, or “Giga” for short.

Unlike the genetic hybrids, this dinosaur is based on one that existed during the late Cretaceous era. Director Colin Trevorrow shared his approach with this new dinosaur and what inspired the way it’ll play throughout the story. And, in a surprising take, it seems that the Giga is meant to be Jurassic World‘s Joker.

I wanted something that felt like the Joker. It just wants to watch the world burn.

The design looks great, and it seems that it’s going to cause a lot of trouble for our extended cast of new and veteran actors in the franchise. Fallen Kingdom ended with the dinosaurs being sent out into the open and escaping their island, which was being destroyed by an active volcano. It’s unclear if this might end the franchise as they capture all dinosaurs once more, or perhaps a new park is established on the mainland to keep them in check. It’ll be interesting to see how the franchise comes together in the upcoming third entry.

  • First Set Photos of CW’s ‘Gotham Knights’ Leak as Production Starts

First Set Photos of CW’s ‘Gotham Knights’ Leak as Production Starts

CW has recently fast-tracked production on a project to adapt the Gotham Knights storyline, as Gotham struggles after the death of Bruce Wayne and a void is left in his wake. Batman’s protégé–surprisingly not Nightwing as initially expected–is forced to team up with the children of his father’s long list of rogue’s gallery. Production has finally kicked off and it didn’t take long for photos to leak from the Toronto set. While we don’t get a first look at any of the actors, we do get a good look at a sequence featuring the GCPD transporting someone, as shared by @Dew_u_c_me:

Luckily @TOFilming_EM also shared a video from the set confirming that the police escort is for someone. There’s a chance that one of the iconic villains might be hidden there, or maybe transferring someone to bring them to safety. We know Mischa Collins has been cast as Harvey Dent and he might be the one in the transport vehicle.

It’ll be interesting to see how they bring this series to life, especially with the concept of the children of Batman’s iconic villains teaming up. They might have multiple seasons in the plan, which opens up the question of what exactly the conflict will be throughout. Either they must team up against the villains pushing Gotham to the brain after the loss of Batman, or maybe an external threat arrives forcing the team-up to keep Gotham from whatever is trying to take over.

  • America Chavez’s Co-Creator Speaks Out on “Insult” of a Compensation Ahead of Live-Action Debut

America Chavez’s Co-Creator Speaks Out on “Insult” of a Compensation Ahead of Live-Action Debut

There has been an ongoing debate surrounding the compensation for creators of iconic characters that make out the ever-growing Marvel library. While you’d think that those that brought these characters to life would find some form of compensation for their work, the live-action adaptations have not been kind to these creators. America Chavez co-creator Joe Casey has now joined a group of creatives to speak out on the live-action compensation offered by Marvel.

He speaks out that this isn’t a topic about the ownership of the character, but rather their work being respected with a correct compensation, as he points out that he was offered a “pittance” ahead of her appearance in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, where America Chavez will be played by Xochitl Gomez. He gives the following statement:

The fact is Marvel owns America Chavez. That’s not in dispute on any level, but there are still systemic flaws in the way that creators are neither respected nor rewarded.

When Casey found out that they are adapting his character, he inquired the publisher, Marvel, for paperwork to see her previous appearances. It seems they tried to offer a cash offer, which he declined due to a special character agreement, which other creatives have pointed out as a way for Marvel to ensure they keep all rights. Supposedly the range of this offer is around $5,000 but that has been disputed. Supposedly, the conversations with Marvel are still ongoing. He’s not the only one discussing this issue which is also an issue with other comic
