‘Wandavision’: Agnes Makes Sure You Learn Your Lines

The mystery has begun to unravel. Westview’s cracks are beginning to show. Wanda’s vision of a seemingly picture-perfect, all-American town is starting to fade. The previous two episodes teased Wanda’s hold on this town and that she may be the one in control. Her selfish motivation is leading her down a dark path. Last week, I theorized that the town could be a malformed version of New Salem and that the inhabitants were members of the coven residing within that town. As such, they quite possibly could be survivors of the Salem Witch Trials. It looks like this week’s episode might be adding to that very theory.

In a previous episode, a brief bit of banter from Agnes mentions that her husband Ralph would not remember their anniversary, which was June 2nd. For those that don’t know, that was the day the Salem witch trials began in 1692. If Agnes is indeed Agatha Harkness, which is the current assumption, that would make Agnes a survivor of those events. Perhaps to save the rest of her coven, she may have made a deal with the devil. The running theme surrounding children in the last two episodes could also connect to her. Any deal with the devil comes at a price. In the comics, her son’s name was Nicholas Scratch. It is the same name she refers to her bunny, who could be her son disguised as an animal. Going by the line from the previous episode, he might also be a sacrifice forced to take that form.

How does this all connect to the latest episode? It has become quite obvious that things are much more off than they were last week in Westview. It is because the episode reveals that Agnes might know much more than she’s letting on. Our nosy neighbor only has a brief appearance in the latest episode. Yet, it is one of the most memorable scenes. She seemed worried about leaving Wanda and Geraldine alone as if something might go wrong. She even interrupts Herb so he won’t reveal anything. I believe this could play right into my theory from last week that the townspeople are members of a coven. The worried look on Agnes’ face comes from the fact that there’s an intruder within their midst who could throw off their entire plan.

It seems to be following the storyline we’ve seen in the comics. Wanda’s children, Tommy and Billy, were shaped from shards of Mephisto’s soul. Mephisto could be crafting the perfect life and family for Wanda to tear it away from her. He wants to break her mind to make her his ally. Mephisto saw an opportunity in Wanda and used her grief to his advantage. I think the main point behind all these events is to misdirect the viewers. So, they make Wanda look like the one in control. In reality, someone else is sitting in the dark and is in full control. It’s just like how Agnes once again referred to her mysterious husband. We are slowly about to unravel the mystery, especially now that we saw how massive S.W.O.R.D.’s operation was around the bubble. We are inching closer to the story behind Agnes’ influence and if the devil is truly in the details.

  • ‘Tales of Dunk and Egg’ And Many Other ‘Game of Thrones’ Prequels’ In Development

‘Tales of Dunk and Egg’ And Many Other ‘Game of Thrones’ Prequels’ In Development

Game of Thrones was one of the most popular television series of all time. It redefined our understanding of the fantasy genre after spanning eight seasons. Yet, when the show came to an end, many fans were left with a sour taste in their mouths. Even after the last season’s reception, HBO was not going to miss out on continuing building the franchise. At one point, a prequel had been in development with Naomi Watts. It would take place a thousand years before the story we’ve witnessed across eight seasons. Although the pilot got filmed, the project did not move forward. Instead, they started development on the HBO Max exclusive House of The Dragon. It will focus on the reign of the Targaryens, as they conquered Westeros.

Now, it seems there is one more member of the family getting his series, as a recent report confirms that a second prequel series is now in the works titled The Tales of Dunk and Egg

It will follow the adventures of Sir Duncan The Tall (Dunk) and Aegon Targaryen (Egg), whose story was told in the George R.R Martin novels The Hedge KnightThe Sworn Sword, and The Mystery Knight. It will take place 90 years before the events of Game of Thrones. The project currently has no talent attached, but it seems HBO is fast-tracking it.

According to Entertainment Weekly, this is just one of the many projects they are working on. It seems HBO has been meeting with many writers to get multiple series of the ground. Even RomeBruno Heller has been in talks at one point. One potential series may focus on Robert’s Rebellion, which started the original story. They also confirm that there are no plans for spin-offs or sequels. The focus remains on developing prequels that explore the history of Westeros and its many corners. It’s an interesting development, as even the previously mentioned Watt‘s prequel was among five in development at the time. For now, we can look forward to a lot more Game of Thrones in the future.

  • RUMOR: ‘Godzilla vs. Kong’ Spin-Off ‘Monarch’ In Development at HBO-Max

RUMOR: ‘Godzilla vs. Kong’ Spin-Off ‘Monarch’ In Development at HBO-Max

After numerous delays, we finally got the first official poster for Godzilla vs. Kong. It has been a long wait after many delays, but we will finally get the simultaneous release on HBO Max and in theaters in March. For a while, there was nothing but radio silence on the project. Every once in a while, the director, Adam Wingard, would tease developments on the project. Now, the big question on everyone’s mind was what the future would hold for the Monsterverse franchise.

According to FandomWire, HBO Max is planning a Monsterverse spin-off. It will focus on the covert organization Monarch, which got first introduced in 2014’s Godzilla. 2017’s Kong: Skull Island offered a more clear backstory on their purpose within this cinematic universe. They were researching the various monsters that once ruled the planet. They returned in 2019’s Godzilla: King of Monsters, explaining the history of Rodan, Mothra, and King Ghidorah. The concept would make for a great series. It would allow Warner Bros. and Legendary to explore titans that wouldn’t get a film. There is also a chance they might tease future storylines for their films.

Godzilla vs. Kong will release in theaters on March 26th. It will be available on HBO Max for a limited time. Adam Wingard directed the film that features an all-star staff, which includes Eiza GonzalezMillie Bobby Brown, Brian Tyree HenryDanai GuriraKyle ChandlerAlexander Skarsgård. We will finally get the first official trailer for the film this Sunday, so we’ll finally get a good look at the clash of a century. The films have been building up to this moment, so we’ll see who will be the final titan standing.

  • ‘She-Hulk’ Adds Ginger Gonzaga in a Major Supporting Role

‘She-Hulk’ Adds Ginger Gonzaga in a Major Supporting Role

The upcoming She-Hulk series is one of the most anticipated projects coming to Disney+. Many fans are ecstatic to see Jennifer Walters make her live-action debut. It wasn’t until Disney’s Investors Day that Tatianna Maslany got confirmed as the Gamma-powered lawyer. The show will be Marvel’s first attempt at a half-hour courtroom comedy. So far, we only know that Mark Ruffalo’s Bruce Banner and Tim Roth‘s Abomination will reprise their roles in the series. Luckily, Deadline revealed that a supporting role got cast.

Ginger Gonzaga joins the production in the role of Walter’s currently unnamed best friend. Deadline doesn’t offer much info on what role she is playing specifically. She has worked on several comedy shows, such as Jim Carrey‘s KiddingMixology, and The Morning After. Gonzaga may be playing Jill Stevens, who briefly appeared in Savage She-Hulk #2. In the comics, she was Jennifer Walters’s best friend since childhood. Illuminerdi also reported they are looking into casting a character that fits the description of Angie Huang. She was Jennifer’s assistant in the comics. They may have combined both of these characters into one.

She-Hulk will reportedly begin filming its ten-episode count in the next few months. Currently, it seems likely it will release on the Disney+ streaming service sometime next year. The series tapped Rick and Morty writer Jessica Gao with Kat Coiro and Anu Valia directing the episodes. Illuminerdi also reported they are looking into casting Augustus Pugliese and Titiana, so we might get some news on their casting as we near the production start.

  • ‘Titans’: Savannah Welch Cast as Barbara Gordon

‘Titans’: Savannah Welch Cast as Barbara Gordon

Titans is among the many shows that were hit by the pandemic. The production got slated to begin in early 2020, but it got delayed until October of last year. Even with the delay, we still received some news about the show’s upcoming third season during DC FanDome. The team behind the series revealed that fan-favorites such as Scarecrow and Barbra Gordon would be coming to the show’s upcoming third season in a supporting role. We haven’t received any information since, so it has been a long wait. Luckily, that changes today, as Variety reveals that Titans has found its Barbara Gordon.

Savannah Welch was cast in the role. Some might remember her from History Channel’s Six, Tree of Life, and Boyhood. According to Variety, Barbara has taken over as GCPD Commissioner. She once was active as Batgirl until the Joker shot her. After the events, Barbara survived but ended up paralyzed in a wheelchair ever since. Upon the Titans return to Gotham City, she and Dick Grayson will spark up a long-gone romance. It also leads to them developing a new kind of crime-fighting partnership that will define the upcoming season.

Interestingly, there is no mention of her time as Oracle. She may take on this role later in the season, which may be why her description teases their new crime-fighting partnership. The addition of Barbara Gordon is also an essential step forward for inclusivity in TV and cinema. Welch is an amputee, as she lost her leg after an accident in 2016. So, it’ll be interesting to see how they handle this story. She is joining Brenton ThwaitesAnna DiopCurran WaltersTeagan Croft, and Ryan Potter as the series moves to HBO Max.

  • ‘WandaVision’ Running With The Devil

    ‘WandaVision’ Running With The Devil

Fans around the world have begun rejoicing in the fact that the Marvel Cinematic Universe has returned an unpredictable hiatus that saw many projects delayed due to the ongoing pandemic. This return was rung in with the premier of WandaVision, set within the town of Westview. Wanda Maximoff and The Vision have settled down to live out the perfect life in an ideal, all-American town that isn’t all of what it seems. Throughout the first two episodes, fans will notice that things are always slightly off, whether it be the fleeting feeling of reality slipping or the realization that no one knows just what is going on most of the time. Throughout the two-episode premiere, many sly and seemingly innocent lines and details are scattered throughout the episodes that may lead fans to believe there may be something much larger in play.

In the second episode, we see Wanda and Vision participate in the local talent show; throughout the episode one thing is consistently mentioned: the show is “For The Children.” On the surface level, you believe that it’s just a whole-hearted charity fundraiser, but towards the end of the second episode it’s revealed that Wanda is indeed pregnant. My running theory is that a grief-stricken and desperate Wanda, made a deal with the devil, commonly known as Mephisto within the Marvel Universe, bringing the Vision back to life in exchange for her firstborn. Wanda would soon realize that she’d made a mistake and is determined to keep her children and her Vision and live the perfect life, and in order to protect her family, she’d unintentionally created this false reality where life was like the perfect American family reminiscent of sitcoms past.

Witches of New Salem (magic New Salem residents)

Playing into this Devil’s deal theory, The citizens of Westview, who I believe to be a Coven that Wanda’s made a part of her reality, and while this may be a stretch, I believe we’re a big part in helping Wanda make this deal with the devil. The way Dottie makes a few mentions of the devil and how Agatha acts so careless around her leads me to believe the two could be leaders of the coven, specifically Abigail and Agatha Harkness in what could possibly be what was once New Salem before it was shifted to fit Wanda’s ideal life.

The long-awaited premier of WandaVision has left plenty of fans with a mind full of questions that will all be answered….in due time, but for now we’re left speculating as to what’s really going on in the town of Westview, above and below.

  • RUMOR: Gwendoline Christie Cast in Netflix’s ‘Sandman’

RUMOR: Gwendoline Christie Cast in Netflix’s ‘Sandman’

Announced back in 2019, Sandman is an adaption of the popular Vertigo comic book that tells the tale of Morpheus, also known as Dream or The Sandman, and his brothers and sisters. The project was dealt a hefty delay this year due to the ongoing pandemic but has indeed begun shooting, as confirmed by Neil Gaiman himself. While production steadily moves along, the cast for the series has yet to even be announced, with confirmation only on Tom Sturridge, who’s set to play Morpheus. The series may have added a friendly face to its roster, with recent news suggesting a past Gaiman collaborator may have joined the project.

Game of Thrones Emmy nominee Gwendoline Christie offers a lesson in advocating for yourself — Quartz at Work

A recent report suggests that Game of Thrones and former Stormtrooper captain, Gwendoline Christie, has joined the project. Although we don’t know who she is officially set to play, it’s almost certain she would be playing a member of the Endless, specifically Desire, the third youngest sibling of the child of Night and Time. Desire is exactly what her name entails: an exact personification of Desire itself. Each of her other siblings are embodiments of powerful and natural forces in all living things.

Sandman currently has no set release date but is currently in production at Netflix. The project was written by Allan Heinberg, who will also serve as showrunner for the first season’s 11-episode run, with David S. Goyer and Neil Gaiman serving as executive producers on the series.

  • ‘The Flash’ Season 7 Adds Jon Cor as Villain Chillblaine

‘The Flash’ Season 7 Adds Jon Cor as Villain Chillblaine

The Flash was another show that suffered multiple delays due to the ongoing pandemic. The show even missed its usual Fall premiere. As such, the last time we saw Barry Allen, he was facing off against Eva McCulloch, also known as the Mirror Mistress. Sadly, another casualty of the pandemic, the season came to an abrupt end. Along with many other shows, The Flash was unable to finish production in time to wrap up its season finale. Still, it won’t stop us from speculating what we can expect in the upcoming seventh season.

The upcoming season was rumored to feature multiple villains, such as the returning Bloodwork and Godspeed. It looks like one more is joining the fray. It seems that Jon Cor has officially joined the cast as the villain Chillblaine. The Flash has yet another icy foe to face. It also offered a breakdown of his character profile:

Mark Stevens is a charismatic bad boy obsessed with cryogenic technology. But when he’s not breaking into corporate safes, he’s busy breaking hearts with his irresistible charm and roguish style. Armed with his own cold weapons, he’ll become a new thorn in the side of Team Flash as the DC Comics villain Chillblaine.

He made his debut back in 1992. Lisa Snart recruited him as a replacement for Captain Cold. The character was armed with Snart’s Cryo Gun and began running with the Rouges. Cor seems to be playing a new version. According to the description, he may have various cryo-based weapons at his disposal to stand out from his cold predecessor. Lisa Snart is currently not listed for the upcoming season, so his origins might be detached from her and reinvented for the new season. We’ll find out more once the show finally airs in February.

  • ‘Zack Snyder’s Justice League’: Harry Lenix Confirms Martian Manhunter Appearance

‘Zack Snyder’s Justice League’: Harry Lenix Confirms Martian Manhunter Appearance

Zack Snyder’s Justice League is by far one of the most anticipated films of 2021. The film has risen to legendary status at this point. Many thought the rumored cut of the film would never see the light of day. Throughout the past few years, Snyder would take to Vero to tease aspects of the film that never made it into the version we saw from Joss Whedon. One scene, in particular, was the reveal of General Swanwick’s true identity. It seems he always intended for the character to be the Martian Manhunter in disguise. Now that the Snyder Cut is a reality, it opened up the floodgate on theories if we’d get to see Manhunter on the silver screen after all.

In a recent interview with Collider, Harry Lennix got asked about his thoughts on the upcoming mini-series and his character. He then revealed that he’d never actually filmed these scenes due to scheduling issues on The Blacklist. At the time, he knew nothing of his secret identity. He didn’t get a chance to read the script before Snyder left the production. However, Lennix stated that he met with Zack and his team back in October. As such, he was able to finish his scenes for the film via green screen.

With Lennix on set for Snyder‘s additional photography, it could be possible that Snyder may have included the Martian in the newest Knightmare scene. The timing would match when rumors hit that other actors shot some scenes for this sequence, such as Jared Leto and Joe Manganiello. It would be a great addition to Batman’s resistance and would give fans much more Manhunter than they initially expected. Zack Snyder’s Justice League will reportedly release in March as a four-part mini-series on the HBO Max streaming service. We are only a few months away before Snyder’s original vision of the Justice League is revealed, so who knows what else may be heading our way until then.

  • Joe Barton Joins ‘The Batman’ Spin-Off ‘Gotham Central’ as Showrunner

Joe Barton Joins ‘The Batman’ Spin-Off ‘Gotham Central’ as Showrunner

Fans are eagerly anticipating their next look at Matt Reeve’s upcoming film The Batman. It’s currently in production and should wrap-up within the coming months. Yet, even before this film hits theaters, Reeves is going all-in on his new version of Gotham. Last year, we got the confirmation that Matt Reeves had teamed up with Boardwalk Empire’Terrence Winter. They were working together on a prequel series titled Gotham Central. It will release exclusively on HBO Max. The project would focus on the corruption within the GCPD during Batman’s first year of crusading in Gotham.

A few months after this news broke, we got word that showrunner and writer, Terrence Winter, had departed the project over creative differences with Matt Reeves. It gave many fans an awry feeling towards the project, as it may have delayed it by quite a bit. It seems the project is back on as Joe Barton, creator of Giri/Haji, has officially joined the project as showrunner and executive producer.

The project comes from Reeve‘s With 6th and Idaho Production company and is the first spin-off set within this new Gotham City. It won’t connect to previous projects, as it will explore an independent storyline from the rest of the DCEU. Although no casting was announced, the project has assembled some familiar faces, such as The Batman producer Dylan Clark, who will also be serving as Executive producer alongside Daniel Pipski and Adam Kassan.
