  • RUMOR: First ‘Ms. Marvel’ Costume Tease Could Hint at Her Gaining a New Ability

RUMOR: First ‘Ms. Marvel’ Costume Tease Could Hint at Her Gaining a New Ability

Here’s a rather interesting coincidence. One of Ms. Marvel‘s directors, Bilall Fallah, shared a drawing of the young superheroine on his Instagram. He is taking over directing duties for at least one episode alongside his Bad Boys for Life co-director, Adil El Arbi. Now, the design of Ms. Marvel is pretty iconic and is easily recognized by many fans. So, we were rather surprised when the character is sporting a purple scarf in the latest image rather than her usual red one. Luckily, user @sayyidbentley was able to grab the Instagram Story image before it expired.

Now, purple is a rather curious choice that is new to her usual color palette in the comics. It could be a visual decision that might tie to something in their story. We also see that she has her golden bangle on the arm. It just seems to be slightly smaller than the usual designs, but that could be out of practicality. Now, a recent rumor in combination with this purple scarf may be hinting at a considerable change for the character and add some validity to it We have to take every rumor with a grain of salt, but it hints at Kamala gaining a new ability. She will use a variety of constructs that connect to her bangle in some form or another.

Canadian actress cast as Muslim hero Ms Marvel

Now, Kamala doesn’t have these abilities in the comics, and it would be in addition to her Inhuman Embiggen powers. We do see the mentioned bangle in the design. Her purple scarf could add to the rumor, as these constructs supposedly also have the same color. Its validity is a bit questionable, but the director’s tease of the costume could give it some credence.

There is one more hint that purple will play a key role in the Disney+ series. During Disney’s Investors Day, we got a brief sizzle reel for the project. If you pay close attention, you’ll notice that the newly designed “S” in the logo switches from purple to gold at the end of the sizzle reel. She also actively wears the color during some of the footage.

Everything We Know About MS. MARVEL on Disney+ - Nerdist

Ms. Marvel will release in 2021. So, we might get our first look at the series in the upcoming months, which will hopefully offer a glimpse of these new abilities and how they might tie into the character. It would be a rather daring move to move away that far from the character’s comic depictions. For now, we can only take it as a rumor and see if we get more hints in the future.

  • First Look at Azie Tesfai as Guardian on ‘Supergirl’ Set

First Look at Azie Tesfai as Guardian on ‘Supergirl’ Set

There’s a massive change coming to the Arrowverse. A while back, it got announced that CW would be ending multiple series within its superhero slate, including shows like Supergirl and Black Lightning. After establishing their equivalent to the Justice League, it begs the question of how that roster will be affected. The futures of Kara Zor-El and Jefferson Pierce up in the air, we might see quite a few new faces take over their respective seats. The final season of Supergirl may offer a glimpse at a future member.

A few seasons back, we got our first look at Jimmy Olsen as The Guardian, the newest vigilante to hit National City. Following Jimmy’s Departure from Cat Co. and Mehcad Brooks‘s exit from the show, Azie Tesfai took over his role as his sister, Kelly Olsen. Co-showrunners Jessica Queller and Robert Rovner confirmed that Kelly would be picking up the mantle of “Guardian” in the upcoming season. Now, we got our first look at her costume courtesy of @canadagraphs.

Supergirl‘s sixth season is currently airing on the CW Network and is currently in its final season. The series is led by Melissa Benoist along with Chyler Leigh, David Harewood, Katie Mcgrath, Nicole Maines, and Jesse Rath. It is uncertain if any characters from this show or Melissa Benoist‘s Supergirl will appear on other shows in the franchise. It’ll be interesting to see how the season ends and teases the future for Kara Zor-El and her wide cast.

  • RUMOR: ‘Wolverine’ Anthology Series in Development for Disney+

RUMOR: ‘Wolverine’ Anthology Series in Development for Disney+

It’s been a few months since the Illuminerdi revealed that the X-Men are potentially making their return under the title, The Mutants. We haven’t heard anything about the franchise and Marvel Studios’ plans for them since. Well, the latest rumor may be hinting at the return of one icon, Wolverine. Hugh Jackman made Logan one of the central figures of 20th Century Fox’s franchise. It was uncertain if Kevin Feige would try to take a unique approach and leave him out since the character has become synonymous with the actor. Well, That Hashtag Show reports that Marvel Studios is in early development on a Wolverine-centric Disney+ show.

Now, the thing that makes it rather interesting is that they claim that the series will be an anthology series. The first season aims to adapt the iconic Weapon X story and generally act as his origin within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The project is in the very early stages of development. So, there is no talent attached in any way. That Hashtag Show believe they might be aiming to reveal something during this year’s D23 event, which is interesting given that it has been cancelled.

It is a rumor for now. So, we have to take it with a grain of salt. Still, it would be a creative approach. Wolverine has lived a long life, as teased in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. They could use this format to introduce the character and explore parts of his history that weren’t the spotlight of the X-Men franchise. We’ll see if Wolverine will continue to keep the spotlight in future ventures, or if he might take a backseat for some time.

  • EXCLUSIVE: ‘AMERICAN HORROR STORIES’ Looks to Be Revisiting the Freak Show

EXCLUSIVE: ‘AMERICAN HORROR STORIES’ Looks to Be Revisiting the Freak Show

We recently learned that FX’s AHS spinoff anthology, American Horror Stories, would be taking us back to the Murder House for an episode. Now a new casting call for the series might indicate that Ryan Murphy and crew might have another story to tell that’s somehow linked to Season 4’s Freak Show theme. American Horror Stories is currently casting for trained circus or carnival performers with an emphasis on sword swallowers, contortionists, fire breathers, scare lookers and more that would fit in nicely in the Freak Show!

The circus performers are expected to be working on the episode from late April through early May; with prep on the Murder House being done now and shooting expected to take a couple of weeks per episode, the potential Freak Show episode could be next up for Murphy and his crew. Murphy announced American Horror Stories last year and noted that it would likely feature familiar characters from different seasons of AHS. There’s no word on when American Horror Stories is expected to premiere but with filming taking place over the next several months, we might be waiting until 2022 to see what Murphy and company have in store.

  • Job Listings Hinting at an Open World ‘BioShock’ Sequel in Development

Job Listings Hinting at an Open World ‘BioShock’ Sequel in Development

It looks like some job listings at the developer studio Cloud Chamber may have given us our first glimpse at the next entry of the BioShock franchise. At the tail-end of 2019, 2K Games founded the studio to tackle the first-person gaming franchise. Kelley Gilmore took over the studio and is spearheading the next project. Bloody Disgusting noticed something rather interesting in their latest job listings that may offer a glimpse at the next entry’s direction.

They are currently looking for a Senior Writer, who is required to ha e a talent for weaving stories in “an open world setting.” The job details also include the fact that they will be required to brainstorm primary and secondary mission content. Now, the position of Senior World Designer also points to a game concept, where players are encouraged to explore the world rather than the franchise’s usual straightforward storytelling. Cloud Chamber is also actively looking for someone to create an urban crowd.

This information would also hint at the game moving closer to 2013’s BioShock Infinite, which had a living world throughout specific sections. It is uncertain if we might even be returning to the underwater city of Rapture or the city above the clouds, Columbia. It is likely that the story will be a self-contained story that pays tribute to those that came before. Still, the concept of an open-world BioShock game sounds intriguing.

  • Mo Amer Joins DC’s ‘Black Adam’

Mo Amer Joins DC’s ‘Black Adam’

Production on Black Adam kicked off just a few days ago, with the project set to feature The Rock as the titular anti-hero Teth-Adam. While details on the project are scarce, we know the film will see Black Adam go up against the likes of the JSA and liberate Kahndaq and its people from enslavement. The project has been in the works for some time now, with the Rock initially being cast as Black adam all the way back in 2007, for what was supposed to be the original Shazam! film. Recently the project has added actors James Cusati-Moyer and Bohdi Sabongui in mystery roles, and they don’t seem to be the last additions.

Confirmed by Deadline, Stand-Up Comedian Mo Amer has joined the cast of the upcoming anti-hero epic in an undisclosed role. Amer is most known for his work on the Hulu original series Ramy, as well as a stand-up special on Netflix titled Mo Amer: The Vagabond. While the extent of Amer’s role is also being kept under wraps, it’s not hard to imagine he’ll do a good job of stealing scenes.

Black Adam is currently set to release on July 29th, 2022, and will be directed by Jaume Collet-Serra. Starring alongside Johnson will be Aldis Hodge, Pierce Brosnan, Quintessa Swindell, Noah Centineo, and Sarah Shahi.

  • RUMOR: First Character Descriptions for Upcoming CG ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ Films Revealed

RUMOR: First Character Descriptions for Upcoming CG ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ Films Revealed

Nickelodeon and Paramount have been busy preparing a brand new CG reboot of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Seth Rogen‘s Point Grey Pictures will be producing the project, as Gravity Falls director, Jeff Rowe, will be tackling directing duties. The screenplay is being written by Brendan O’Brien, who is known for his work on Sorority Rising as well as Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates. It looks like Illuminerdi may have gotten their hands on the descriptions that offer some insight on the upcoming adaptation of the four brothers.

    • Leonardo will remain the strictly business type but is hiding his biggest fear. He doesn’t want his brothers to know how much he depends on them, as he tries to keep them focused on finishing the missions.
    • Of course, the goofball Michelangelo will keep his relaxed attitude. He continues to enjoy life and has a habit of talking to strangers for long periods of time due to his innate curiosity. The always optimistic Mickey might also be hiding something deep down.

Turtle power outage: Three of the four Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have died | GamesRadar+

    • Ralph remains a hothead, who loves to break things. They even tease his brooding side, as he s trying to hide his sensitive side from the others. We might also see some strife between him and Leo, as he doesn’t like authority. Even though he wants to become the team’s leader, he understands that he “wouldn’t know how to lead the team if it ever came to it.”
    • Interestingly enough, Donatello is given a comparison, as he “feels like he’s Matt Damon in Goodwill Hunting.” While he may seem arrogant and cold, it is simply the result of his intellect making him think many steps ahead. Yet, he still “finds himself paralyzed with indecision.”

It sounds like they are sticking to the characters’ personalities that have been around since the 1987 animated series. The original TMNT release in 1984 by Peter Laird and Kevin Eastman defined their iconic weapons and names, but their personalities were very similar. We’ll see what the upcoming CG film adds to make these character interpretations stand out from the previous incarnations.

  • ‘Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade’: Daman Mills To Voice Weiss the Immaculate

‘Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade’: Daman Mills To Voice Weiss the Immaculate

Final Fantasy 7 Remake surprised fans when they suddenly revealed that its upgrade to PlayStation 5 was just the beginning. The next generation of consoles will also offer a brand new DLC storyline focusing on Yuffie Kisaragi. It will be titled Intergrade. We’ll get a brand new look at Midgar and how the rest of Avalanche operates. It will include a variety of new characters.

The new DLC will also keep us busy until the next entry in the Remake franchise is released. At the tail end of the trailer, we got the reveal of a very familiar face. Weiss the Immaculate will make an appearance in the story, and his voice actor, Daman Mills, took to Twitter to share his excitement and a brand new look at the iconic character.

It is our closest look at Weiss in his Remake outfit. He is also standing in a familiar stance to players of Dirge of Cerberus. There are some hints that Weiss might have a bigger role than we initially expected. The character made their debut in the 2006 spin-off that explored the story of a secret organization known as Deepground. They planned on reawakening the Omega creature. Weiss was one of the main antagonists you faced in the game.

If you look closely in the first trailer you can see some soldiers in the Deepground uniform. He had close ties to Vincent Valentine, who was a no-show in the first trailer. They could be setting up his character as well through this additional story DLC. He and Yuffie were optional characters to unlock in the original game, which may be a reason they get the focus through additional DLC before they join the rest of the gang.

  • ‘American Horror Stories’ Returning to Fan Favorite Location

‘American Horror Stories’ Returning to Fan Favorite Location

Last year, Ryan Murphy shared that FX had given the green lit to an anthology spin-off of the popular horror series American Horror Story. The series is set to include 16-one hour episodes that share solo storylines contained to that episode. Further details given by Murphy confirmed that the series would dive into “Horror, myths, legends, and lore” as well as the return of familiar faces from AHS past. While no details on casting or any of the episode themes have been shared yet, some recent activity at a familiar setting from AHS past may lead to some answers.

Production on the series seems to be kicking off with crew setting up around Rosenheim mansion and even putting the black fence that surrounded the house in season one back up. It’s unclear what exactly we’re going to see happening at the mansion but considering its long history, we could see an episode surrounding its previous owners. Considering that AHS season 10 is currently filming, it’s possible we could see multiple stars from that season return such as Evan Peters as Tate Langdon, or even Frances Conroy as Moira O’Hara in what could be flashback episodes diving deeper into their characters. Maybe we could even see the return of Sarah Paulson’s Billie Dean Howard, as she returns to the murder house for a special, sorta like her brief appearance in Hotel where the ghost of serial killers’ past scared her away.

American Horror Stories currently has no set release date and has yet to officially add anyone to its cast but as production ramps up, casting will follow. In the meantime production of AHS season ten titled Double Feature has begun and will feature two separate and smaller storylines. The cast for the upcoming season is star-studded with the highly anticipated returns of Evan Peters and Sarah Paulson alongside Frances Conroy, Macaulay Culkin, Leslie Grossman, Billie Lourde, Adina Porter, and Angelica Ross.

  • Official Look at the CW’s ‘Powerpuff’ Girls New Outfits and First Character Details Revealed

Official Look at the CW’s ‘Powerpuff’ Girls New Outfits and First Character Details Revealed

We’ve just recently got a glimpse at the upcoming CW live-action adaptation of the Powerpuff Girls. In a recent set video, we saw the trio of Chloe Bennett, Dove Cameron, and Yana Perrault filming the pilot. They were wearing costumes that seemed heavily inspired by the original Cartoon Network show. Well, it looks like CW wanted to tease their new outfits as the girls grow up in the newly titled Powerpuff series. The newly released image confirms that the girls will not be running around in their cartoon dresses, but they will be adapting their clothing style to fit their new lifestyle as they left their superheroics behind.

They also include some first descriptions of how these incarnations of the crime-fighting trio are going to be betrayed in their late 20s. Bennett‘s Blossom is facing her anxiety and trying to become a leader again on her own terms after a life of being a superhero and a Little-Miss-Perfect. Cameron‘s Bubbles seems to have changed the least and still retain her bubbly personality. However, she now has an obsession with recapturing her fame as an adult. In contrast, Perrault‘s Buttercup has been trying to live her own life away from any attention. An uncertain event will force the three to reunite and embrace their destiny once again after trying to leave it all behind.
