EXCLUSIVE: Description of Hawkman’s Ship in ‘Black Adam’

Back in March, a couple of images of a Black Adam set being built led our own John Sabato to speculate that the production might be building Hawkman’s Thanagarian Star Cruiser. I can now confirm that it was indeed the set-piece that was being built in those pictures. In addition, here’s an exclusive and detailed description of the finished Hawkman ship set!

“It’s awesome. It’s sleek… has this curved look to it…  a raised circular sitting area in the back and a big set of long red lights that curve from the back up across the ceiling. There’s a medical bay nook (reclined bed with instruments around it) and something that looks like a bar with glass chairs. Hawkman symbol in gold on the floor in the center. Also one of the hallways has a Hawkman logo in red glowing at the end of it. Pretty cool.”

    A Murphy’s Multiverse exclusive

Unfortunately, we weren’t able to attain any pictures of the finished set. However, this information comes from a long-time trusted source of Murphy’s Multiverse, so we are confident in this description’s validity. What do you think? Are you excited to see Hawkman’s ship on the big screen?

Alongside Dwayne Johnson’s starring role, and Pierce Brosnan as Doctor Fate, Aldis Hodge will play Hawkman in Black Adam. The DC film, currently filming in Georgia, is scheduled to hit theaters on July 29, 2022.

  • Zack Snyder Offers First Look at Wayne T. Carr as Green Lantern

Zack Snyder Offers First Look at Wayne T. Carr as Green Lantern

It has been a long uphill battle for Zack Snyder but he was able to finally complete his work on Justice League. After initially leaving the project, he was given the chance to bring his original vision to life in a four-hour cut featuring all unused footage. He even got the chance to add some of the missing pieces he wasn’t able to shoot originally. The title Zack Snyder’s Justice League confirmed that the project was fully in his hands, but that didn’t mean that Warner Bros. didn’t influence the project. Sadly, one aspect that got scrapped was the inclusion of Wayne T. Carr as Green Lantern at the end of the film. It looks like Snyder didn’t want to leave that part forgotten and shared the first look at a Q&A event in Cinemark Playa Vista. Twitter user @IshaanShangha shared the first look:

It is uncertain if we might get an HD image of the character in all its Green Lantern glory, but it is good to know they did prepare a visual. If you look closely, you can see that it is closer to that of the comics, unlike the body-suit style the Green Lantern film went with. We did get a brief member of the intergalactic police joining the fight against Uxas when he initially tried to invade Earth. Carr would’ve played John Stewart, who was a prominent member of the Justice League in the comics and the animated series. It is uncertain if he might have a chance at playing the character in the upcoming HBO Max series, but it is great that Snyder is open to showcase the actor in full Green Lantern gear so this final piece of his full vision sees the world.

  • James Gunn Teases a Potential ‘Peacemaker’ Season 2

James Gunn Teases a Potential ‘Peacemaker’ Season 2

James Gunn is slowly expanding the DC universe in interesting ways. We’re about to get a darkly twisted incarnation with his adaptation of The Suicide Squad that will see the misfit team face an unlikely challenge. He will introduce some of DC’s most obscure yet creative characters. It includes the addition of Charlton Comics’ icon Peacemaker, who will be played by John Cena. The character was first introduced in Fightin’ 5 #40 back in 1966. The creation by Joe Gill and Pat Boyette will soon become a household name, as James Gunn also started working on an original HBO Max series that explores his story before the events of the upcoming film. It looks like Gunn has some plans for a future season, as he teased on Twitter that there is one more character he didn’t get a chance to include in this season.

    https://twitter.com/JamesGunn/status/1392683838619410432

Of course, Gunn doesn’t reveal which character he is thinking of, but there is a likely chance it might be another one from Charlton Comics. Some of the bigger additions come from the iconic publishing company that ran from 1945 until 1986. peacemaker season 2. It would be interesting to see which characters Gunn wants to explore, as there are some really interesting candidates. We could see him add Captain Atom or Question into the series. He could even explore the original Blue Beetle, Dan Garret. He would be an interesting contrast to Peacemaker. Whatever the director has planned, t is great to see HBO Max and DC explore these minor characters and give them the spotlight to tell stories, we’d otherwise miss out on.

  • ‘The Flash’: Set Photos Offer First Look at Jordan Fischer as Impulse

‘The Flash’: Set Photos Offer First Look at Jordan Fischer as Impulse

The Flash has been a staple in the comic book community since it first premiered back in 2014. The series follows the story of Barry Allen as he works to save the city from all sorts of meta-human or otherworldly threats. For the past seven seasons, The Flash has explored the speed force in many ways. It has introduced different speedsters including Jay Garrick, Reverse-Flash, Zoom, Jesse Quick, Kid Flash, and even Barry’s daughter, XS. In the upcoming 150th episode, the series will introduce Bart Allen, the wildly rambunctious descendant of Barry and Iris. As such, he also goes by the appropriate name of Impulse. Luckily, it seems the first images of his costume have found their way online.

The character of Bart Allen will be played by Jordan Fisher. It looks like the suit is quite accurate, as it even sports the white and red color scheme with his iconic goggles. The series has taken a bit of departure with this interpretation of Bart, as he’s mostly known as the grandson of Barry. In the comics, he was from a doomed future and tried to make a new life. However, in this version of the character, he’ll be the second son of the couple alongside his sister Nora. Jessica Parker-Kennedy will reprise her role as XS in the upcoming 150th episode.

Noticeable in the background is yet another appearance of Godspeed, a character whose been recurring since he first made his debut. We were first introduced to the character as XS faced off against the mysterious speedster. It’s possible the pair have come from the future to help Barry uncover the truth behind their Godspeed problem, who constantly leaves duplicates behind.

  • ‘The Flash’: Tom Cavanagh and Carlos Valdes Leaving the CW Show After Season 7

‘The Flash’: Tom Cavanagh and Carlos Valdes Leaving the CW Show After Season 7

It looks like the seventh season of The Flash will end with quite a bit of change, as Deadline has just reported Tom Cavanagh and Carlos Valdes are leaving the show. The show will return for an eight-season but the cast will be cut down. Cavanagh played the show’s main antagonist Eobard Thawne, or better known as the Reverse-Flash. He did end his tenure as a series regular at the end of the sixth season but continued to make guest appearances. It seems that he has hinted at his exit in an Instagram post in February. Valdes played the character of Cisco Ramon, who was a series regular up until this point. Executive producer and showrunner Eric Wallace had the following to say on their exit:

Tom and Carlos have been an integral part of our show for seven seasons, and will be greatly missed. Both are incredible talents who created beloved characters that fans and audiences around the world have come to love. Which is why we are happily keeping the door open for return appearances.

They were part of the original six cast members alongside Grant Gustin, Candice Patton, and Danielle Panabaker. It seems that they are still actively negotiating their deal with Gustin signed up for the next season. Of course, losing these two is a major shift for the series and it’ll be interesting to see how the finale addresses their absence moving forward. There is always a chance that they could make an appearance later down the line, but it also depends on how many more seasons we can expect from the Scarlet Speedster’s run on CW.

First ‘The Flash’ Set Photos Reveal ‘Batman 1989’s Wayne Manor

After years of delays and rewrites, production on The Flash has finally begun. It has lost quite a few directors and writers along the way. It wasn’t until the film finally found its footing with writer Christina Hodson and director Andy Muschietti that it would finally get the ball rolling. It is set to feature the return of Ezra Miller‘s Barry Allen, as he begins to further understand his abilities and connection to the speed force. This newfound understanding would lead to the hero unraveling the multiverse. On the journey, the Flash is set to team up with one of the most iconic characters in comic book film history, Michael Keaton’s Batman. Luckily, the first set of photos have found their way online by @DCverso1 revealing an iconic manor.

These set photos reveal the iconic Wayne Manor from the 1989 film. It seems they are once again filming at the Knebworth House in Hertfordshire. It is uncertain if this is purely for an exterior shot, but Warner Bros.’s presence is certainly eye-catching. The film is currently set to release in November of 2022. We’ve known for a while that Michael Keaton would make a return in the titular role for quite some time. Ben Affleck will also make his return in the upcoming film after reshooting some sequences for HBO Max’s Zack Snyder’s Justice League. It’ll be interesting to see if we get to revisit any other familiar Batman locations, such as Batman Begins‘ Wollaton Hall in Nottingham as Barry travels through the multiverse.

  • ‘Young Rock’s Uli Latukefu Joins The Cast of ‘Black Adam’ In Undisclosed Role

‘Young Rock’s Uli Latukefu Joins The Cast of ‘Black Adam’ In Undisclosed Role

Production on the long-awaited comic book blockbuster, Black Adam, has finally kicked off after spending years in development hell. The film is set to star Dwayne Johnson in the titular role of Black Adam. It will tell the origin of the hero from the old days of Kahndaq up until his battle with the Justice Society of America. Most of the cast seemed to be locked in, but Deadline just reported one new addition is joining the Black Adam family.

Deadline is reporting that actor Uli Latukefu will join the cast of the upcoming comic book adaptation in an undisclosed role. The actor previously worked with the Rock on his NBC comedy Young Rock. Latukefu portrayed the actor’s teenage and college years. It’s stated in the article that they aren’t exactly sure what role he’d be playing, but it seems very likely he’ll be a young Theo-Adam. The film will take us back to the anti-hero’s origins, as he grew up in Kahndaq. So, it’s a safe assumption, but they could still surprise us.

Black Adam is currently set to hit theaters on July 29th, 2022, and will be directed by Jaume Collet-Serra. The film sports a stacked cast with Quintessa Swindel as Cyclone, Aldis Hodge as Hawkman, Pierce Brosnan as Doctor Fate, Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher alongside, James Cusati-Moyer, Mo Amer, Bodhi Sabongui, and Marwan Kenzari.

  • ‘Mad Men’s Vincent Kartheiser Joins ‘Titans’ as Scarecrow

‘Mad Men’s Vincent Kartheiser Joins ‘Titans’ as Scarecrow

It looks like HBO Max’s upcoming season of Titans has found its Dr. Jonathan Crane. The official Twitter account has unveiled that actor Vincent Kartheiser will be taking on the role of Scarecrow. The actor is known for his work on the WB series Angel and AMC’s Mad Men. He also just recently appeared on Netflix’s The Social Dilemma. The character of Scarecrow has been a mainstay in Batman’s rogue’s gallery for a long time. He’s appeared in the original animated Batman series, The Lego Batman Movie, Harley Quinn, Gotham, and was famously played by Cillian Murphy in Christopher Nolan‘s The Dark Knight Trilogy. It’ll be interesting to see how Kartheiser reinvents the character for the third season of Titans.

Interestingly, the tweet points to his influence from within Arkham Asylum. He may be the mastermind behind many villains that’ll make the life of the Titans a living nightmare. He will be joining a stacked cast that consists of Brenton Thwaites, Anan Diop, Teagan Croft, Ryan Potter, and Conor Leslie. The addition of Scarecrow was first teased during DC FanDome alongside Barbara Gordon and Red Hood. We don’t know how big his role will be, but he might have a larger role as the mastermind pulling the strings. The strong focus on Gotham might also see other iconic Batman villains making an appearance in the upcoming season.

  • ‘Doom Patrol’ Finds Its Sisterhood of Dada

‘Doom Patrol’ Finds Its Sisterhood of Dada

For a while news on this upcoming season of Doom Patrol was scarce, and many began to fear the worst when we didn’t get an initial green light for the third season on HBO Max. Fans were clamoring for some sort of confirmation when the second season found fans on one mighty cliffhanger. The team was at the mercy of the Candlemaker, a foe who’d been casually fighting to break free from Dorothy’s imagination. The third season is now well into production, it looks like they’ve found their villains for this upcoming season.

Deadline is reporting that actors Micah Joe Parker, Wynn Everett, Miles Mussenden, Anita Kalathara, Gina Hiraizumi have joined the cast of the upcoming third season in recurring roles as members of the Sisterhood of Dada. Parker will play Malcolm, Everett will play the role of The Fog, Miles Mussenden as Frenzy, Anita Kalathar as Sleepwalk, and Gina Hiraizumi as The Quiz.

Doom Patrol third season has no set release date but will be made available through HBO Max. The season will feature the returns of Jovian Wade, Brendan Fraser, Diane Guerrero, April Bowlby, Matt Bomer, Timothy Dalton, alongside newcomer Michelle Gomez as Madame Rogue. It is unknown if the Sisterhood of Dada will be the main antagonist throughout the season, or they might just give our unlikely heroes a temporary distraction. Alan Tudyk was a member of the comics’ Brotherhood of Dada, but there is no word if he might make a return.
