Renée Elise Goldsberry to Co-Star in ‘SHE-HULK’

Actress Renée Elise Goldsberry has joined the cast of the upcoming Marvel Studios Disney Plus streaming series She-Hulk. According to Deadline, Goldsberry is playing a character named “Amelia”; Amelia is a code name for a yet to be revealed character, but we can add that Goldsberry will portray a high-powered lawyer who keeps her private and work lives very separated.

Evil': Renée Elise Goldsberry Set For Multi-Episode Arc – Deadline

Though Deadline was unable to get comment from Marvel Studios, it is possible that Goldsberry is playing Mallory Book, a lawyer who worked with Jennifer Walters at Goodman, Liever, Kurtzberg & Holliway and is known as “the face that never lost a case.” First introduced in Dan Slott’s 2004 She-Hulk #1, Book had a very roller coaster relationship with Jennifer Walters and was also a victim of an attack by Titania, who is rumored to be the villain of the show, on the firm.

Goldsberry won several awards for her performance as Angelica Schuyler in Hamilton and can currently be seen co-starring alongside Tina Fey in the Peacock streaming series Girls5eva. She-Hulk, starring Tatiana Maslany as Jennifer Walters/She-Hulk, is expected to stream on Disney Plus early in 2022.

  • New ‘Hawkeye’ Set Photos Offer Closer Look at Alaqua Cox’s Echo

New ‘Hawkeye’ Set Photos Offer Closer Look at Alaqua Cox’s Echo

It has been some time since we got our last look at the Hawkeye set. A while back, we got our first look at the new supporting character of Maya Lopez, who is better known as Echo. Alaqua Cox will debut as the deaf Native American character in the series, which will then be the jumping-off point into her own Disney+ show. It is still uncertain how her character fits into the story that is set up, but her comic origins include her carrying the title of Ronin at some point, which may play a factor.

The newly released photos offer a better look at Cox. She isn’t wearing a comic-accurate costume and the iconic white handprint on her face is missing. Still, it looks like the show is taking a more grounded approach with her in motorcycle gear. After taking a closer look and with the help of our amazing Discord, she does have her comic symbol embroider in the leather jacket. If you look closely it also looks like she is joined by Fra Fee, who is playing Kazi in the series, which could imply them working together.

Check out the images on Just Jared by clicking here.

It’ll be interesting to see how her story intertwines with Clint’s, as he tries to teach a young Kate Bishop how to become the next Hawkeye. They may take the angle of her also wanting to take on his mantle, such as becoming the new Ronin. There are many different angles they can take with her character. The fact she is getting a spin-off show may also hint at a larger role moving forward. Her comic incarnation has close ties to Daredevil, which could be an interesting angle to work on with his potential appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Whatever direction they go, we will find out later this year when the show premieres on Disney+.

  • RUMOR: ‘The Mandalorian’s Din Djarin May Cameo in ‘The Book of Boba Fett’

RUMOR: ‘The Mandalorian’s Din Djarin May Cameo in ‘The Book of Boba Fett’

We’re going to wait a bit longer for the third season of The Mandalorian. Luckily, we’ll get a brand new series titled The Book of Boba Fett to tie us over until the return of Din Djarin. At least that was what we expected, as the iconic Bounty Hunter took over center stage. It seems that Cinelinx has heard from independent sources that Din will also make an appearance in the upcoming spin-off. So far, he would be the only familiar face from the first Disney+ series to join the show, which will focus on Ming-Na Wen‘s Fennec Shand and Temura Morrison’s Boba Fett.

They do point out that there are multiple reports on why the character may show up in the new series, but nothing concrete. He will most likely only make a brief appearance, as it may tie into his next adventure. We don’t know how they went their separate ways after the finale from The Mandalorian‘s second season. It could pick up from there and fill the gaps. There is a chance that other characters might also make an appearance.

There is a chance that the various shows that’ll spin out of the first might come together for a major story arc. So, The Book of Boba Fett might continue to build on that while he goes down his bingo book to take revenge on those that wronged him. Hopefully, it means that we’ll get more of Ming-Na Wen and Temura Morrison in the other spin-offs as well. It’ll be interesting to see how Din’s story continues after parting ways with Grogu. We might get a hint at his upcoming season once Boba’s ends.

  • ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’: Ewan McGregor Sighted With His Iconic Beard

‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’: Ewan McGregor Sighted With His Iconic Beard

With the Obi-Wan Kenobi Disney+ series getting ready to shoot, as the set video leak from the last couple of days made clear, Ewan McGregor is also starting to look the part. With shooting confirmed to be taking place in Los Angeles, McGregor was spotted hanging out in California with the Kenobi beard he famously sported in both Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith. It’ll be interesting to see if he’ll keep the longer hair as well or he’ll cut it before the production starts.

Obi-Wan Kenobi is set to take place in between episodes III and IV, at a time when Kenobi called Tatooine his home. If the show will be entirely set on that planet is still undisclosed, but the rumors that we will get a few flashbacks to the Clone Wars will most likely become a reality. We might explore his time before we were introduced to the iconic Jedi in The Phantom Menace.

The show is set to reunite McGregor with Hayden Christensen returns to the world of Star Wars to play Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader was confirmed at the 2020 Disney Investor Day presentation. As the production start date approached, Indira Varma and another 9 names were confirmed as being part o the cast, with Joel Edgerton and Bonnie Piesse reprising their roles from the Star Wars Prequels as Luke’s uncles. It’ll be interesting to explore this time that would lead to the moment that Luke started to explore beyond the desert planet he called home.

  • Gugu Mbatha-Raw’s ‘LOKI’ Role Revealed

    Gugu Mbatha-Raw’s ‘LOKI’ Role Revealed

Marvel Studios had been hoping to work with Gugu Mbatha-Raw for quite some time but things never quite lined up. The stars aligned and Mbatha-Raw landed a major role in the upcoming Disney Plus streaming series, Loki, and what a role it is. According to Disney, the actress is playing a character named Judge Renslayer and that almost certainly makes her Ravonna Renslayer, the great love interest of Kang the Conqueror!

    Image

The news comes via Fandango’s Managing Editor, Erik Davis, and seems like a pretty big reveal considering who she is. We’ve heard rumors that Jonathan Majors’ Kang would appear in Loki and if this Renslayer is indeed Ravonna, it erases almost all doubt that he’ll show up. The two have had a long and twisted history over the years as Kang’s love went mostly unrequited (and she may have even killed him once). Fans might be more familiar with Ravonna from her role in Kang’s arc on Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes where she was kept in stasis due to injuries sustained from the temporal anomaly caused by Captain America’s reemergence into the timeline. While she spent her entire time there on the shelf, be sure that Ravonna can handle herself and has proven to be arguably Kang’s most persistent and competent foe over the years. We’ll have to wait to see if Gugu’s character is Ravonna or a descendant or ancestor (time stuff, you know) but this seems like it could be a major ongoing role in the MCU.

  • ‘Loki’: Latest Trailer Offers First Look at Sasha Lane

‘Loki’: Latest Trailer Offers First Look at Sasha Lane

Marvel Studios surprised fans everywhere this morning when they dropped a brand new trailer for their upcoming Disney+ series, Loki. The series is set to follow the time-bending adventures of the titular God of Mischief. Of course, it isn’t the one we lost in Avengers: Infinity War. Instead, we’ll see what happens to the alternate timeline Loki, who appeared in Avengers: Endgame after he managed to escape captivity along with the Tesseract.

His shenanigans will land him in the clutches of the Time Variance Authority, and send him on a Dr. Who-like journey to correct his own wrongdoings. Somewhere on this quest, Tom Hiddleston’s fan-favorite Asgardian will come across a new character portrayed by Sasha Lane, and the new trailer has given us our first look at the mysterious new addition to the MCU. It confirms her involvement once again, which we reported on around six months ago when her stunt double Kelly Bellini was listed on IMDb.

    loki sasha lane

It seems unclear where Lane’s allegiances lay or whether or not she’ll be a friend or foe to Loki. While it would have been reasonable to assume she was a member of the Time Variance Authority, the new footage does seem to show her fighting off another member of the organization. Perhaps she is someone in disguise, or a TVA member manipulated by Loki to do his bidding? According to IMDb, the actress will only appear in three episodes, but that service isn’t always accurate and it certainly doesn’t mean Lane won’t play a large role in the series.

If Sasha Lane looks familiar, it’s probably because you saw her breakout role in 2016’s American Honey or 2019’s Hellboy reboot. She’s a very talented performer and her appearance in the MCU will hopefully help propel her further into stardom.

  • Leaked ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’ Set Video Teases Tatooine

Leaked ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’ Set Video Teases Tatooine

It looks like Ob-Wan Kenobi has started preparing for its upcoming shoot. Ewan McGregor confirmed that they were eyeing a production start in late Spring. As a guest on Eddie Izzard‘s A Run For Hope marathon, he confirmed that they will film in Los Angeles after Boston and the United Kingdom were rumored. Well, it looks like some videos have found their way of what looks like a recreation of Tatooine from the Kenobi‘s set. The TikTok video got shared by Twitter user @ewanskenobii. It seems that someone from the set filmed the video while adding the iconic Cantino music on it.

    https://twitter.com/ewanskenobii/status/1378638389092683776

It looks like the set isn’t quite done yet, as they are still preparing for the production start. The Mandalorian has used generic locations to film different scenes. It is uncertain how long the story will focus on Tatooine, as awe could see the iconic Jedi travel throughout the galaxy for one last quest. It makes sense that the iconic planet from A New Hope would make an appearance. It’ll be interesting to see a young Skywalker growing up on a farm.

They could also reveal how Obi-Wan Kenobi managed to age drastically in 19 years or how he became known as Ben Kenobi by the locals. There are a lot of plot threads that could be explored in the story. We know that Hayden Christensen is returning. It is uncertain how he might tie into the story either appearing as a young Darth Vader, or he might even haunt Kenobi as his biggest falure. It’ll be interesting to see how they continue his story.

  • ‘Falcon and the Winter Soldier’: Zemo Did It Again

‘Falcon and the Winter Soldier’: Zemo Did It Again

Nowadays, a good television show is not always defined by its main characters. Sometimes as a supporting act, one character can change the game. Baron Zemo strolled into the third episode of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier has given the show a jolt of swag. Once again, Zemo gets what he wants without having to get physical with an Avenger. Sam and Bucky need him. Plus, Barnes is desperate to atone for his prior sins that he breaks Zemo out. This episode is Daniel Brühl shooting from half-court like he’s Steph Curry.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier Actor Daniel Bruhl Teases Zemo's MCU Return - ComictaQ

As they’re going to Madripoor, we get a call back to Captain America Winter Soldier, when Sam and Zemo are ribbing Bucky for not liking the Troubleman soundtrack. We get the iconic line from the Baron that even Sam ends up agreeing to:

It’s a masterpiece, James. Complete. Comprehensive. It captures the African American experience.

Even in an episode filled to the brim with action and Sharon Carter’s return, Zemo was the main event. He revealed himself to be a Baron embracing his comic origins. We even see him don the purple mask that the iconic villain wore in the comics. Not just that, Zemo is rich with a collection of classic cars and a private plane. We get a hilarious scene of him dancing in the club like no one is watching. We have to say that it is villainy you have to respect. There is no doubt that he’ll betray Sam and Bucky, and we cannot wait to see it happen.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier' Episode 3 Review - Baron Zemo Rising | DiscussingFilm

Later, as the crew catches up to Wilfred Nagel, who is the creator of the new super-soldier serum, we know Zemo will probably try and kill the scientist. Zemo still hates the idea of powered individuals. True to form, the Baron shoots Nagel after the mad scientist reveals his work. Even with that happening, our heroes have no time to reprimand Zemo as bounty hunters from all over are coming for them. He provides the shots to get the squad free and the getaway car to freedom. His appearance gets summed up by the end of the episode, as Ayo of the Dora Milaje reveals she is here for him.

Baron Zemo provides both humor and zest. One can only wonder how much chaos Zemo will cause going forward. It opens up some questions regarding the next three episodes:

    • When is John Walker going to snap? We only briefly see John and Lemar hot on the tail of the Flag Smashers. The new Captain America gets all hot and bothered when he didn’t get answers. That dark turn is coming soon.
    • Is Sharon working for someone? Sharon has another agenda going on as she speaks to someone on the phone regarding Sam and Bucky. Is she involved with the power broker, or is she the power broker? One has to wonder.

The Falcon and The Winter Soldier: Zemo's Mask References Classic Marvel Villain

    • Did Karli Morgenthau just break bad? There was a sense earlier that Karli & co. were freedom fighters with a worthy cause. After their actions in episode three of blowing up and killing guards, how far are they willing to go to achieve their goal?
    • What is Zemo’s master plan? He states that he is looking forward to coming face-to-face with Karli. One has to assume Zemo wants all of these super soldiers dead. How does he get that job done? The Machiavellian Baron has to be up to no good for anyone involved but his ends.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier's Baron Zemo is Marvel's Next Meme Machine

    • Is Sam going to get a better handle on things? This episode felt like more of a backseat for Sam, literally. He drank some snake guts and dressed like a pimp. So, let us hope he has some more substantial scenes and moments next week.
  • Disney+ Unveils New ‘STAR WARS VINTAGE’ Branding for Classic Series and Films

Disney+ Unveils New ‘STAR WARS VINTAGE’ Branding for Classic Series and Films

Some time ago, Disney+ announced that Disney+ would be adding the original Star Wars: Clone Wars animated series alongside several Ewok properties. The time has finally come as the streaming service has now gone live with the collection. The curious thing is that they added an entirely new branding to make these stand out from the other films and series. It has now been titled the Star Wars Vintage CollectionIt looks like they are trying to distinguish between canon and non-canon features easier within the service while still offering both to viewers. They even added some unique visuals to make these series stand out in the service:

We can now access several long-out-of-print or previously unavailable movies and series such as Caravan of Courage: An Ewok Adventure, Ewoks: The Battle for Endor, Story of the Faithful Wookiee, Ewoks, and Clone Wars 2D Micro-Series (both volumes). The Star Wars: Droids animated series, although absent from the service at the moment, is set to become available later this year.

Disney continues to add this sort of legacy content to their streaming service as their previously signed contracts reach their end. They are getting one step closer to unifying the content under their streaming service, which offers a wide variety of properties that seemed long-forgotten. It will be interesting to see if they also start trying to add content that got scattered due to various deals. Here’s hoping we could see The Incredible Hulk or the Spider-Man series and films find their way home one day.

  • ‘The Falcon and The Winter Soldier’ Episode 3 Primer

‘The Falcon and The Winter Soldier’ Episode 3 Primer

We all really liked the latest episode of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. Sam and Bucky obviously are hurting after seeing John Walker become the new Captain America; they definitely don’t like the fact that he is taking over Steve’s job. Things get crazy when Sam and Bucky follow the Flag-Smashers and have an awesome fight scene! Sooner rather than later, Captain America and Battlestar show up and we realize that the government is tracking Sam through Redwing. Later on, Bucky takes Sam to meet Isaiah. This makes things a whole lot more interesting because it seems like the Flag-Smashers might only exist as a result of running tests on Isaiah whilst he was in jail. On another note, Sam and Bucky refuse to work with Walker building tension between them. As the episode ends, we learn Bucky and Sam are on their way to talk with Zemo to figure out if Hydra has anything to do with the serum getting out.

Them going to see Zemo is VERY dangerous because Zemo is the one who brainwashed Bucky and reactivated The Winter Soldier. Bucky’s mind is supposedly better and with the trigger words from Captain America: Civil War being cleared from his mind, Zemo shouldn’t seem like a threat. However, if the comics are any indication of what could happen in the show, there is one word that could cause some real commotion: Sputnik. Zemo is ALWAYS full of surprises. Additionally, Walker obviously got his butt kicked by the Flag-Smashers, could he possibly try to even out the playing field by trying to get his hands on the serum?

    Arlyn’s Assumptions

We have no idea how Zemo gets out of jail and goes to Madripoor with Bucky and Sam or why they go to Madripoor. They have to run into somebody there and my best guess would be Sharon Carter. Look at the facts, she hasn’t been in the show yet but has been in most of the marketing for it. She has to come on the show at some point in time. In the comics, Madripoor is a CRAZY place. My guess would be that Hydra is secretly alive and well in Madripoor.

The next episode of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier streams tomorrow!
