  • ‘Gotham Knights’ Finally Gets an October Release Date

‘Gotham Knights’ Finally Gets an October Release Date

Before there is any confusion, the Gotham Knights in question is the game by Warner Bros. Montréal and not the CW series in production with the same name. It’s been quite the wait for the next entry in the Batman gaming franchise that was started by Rocksteady with Arkham Asylum. While Gotham Knights will take a different direction, many core elements from the teams’ experience on Arkham Origins will carry over. Players will get a chance to try it out when it releases on the 25th of October 2022.

The game, as far as we know, will let you play as Red Hood, Robin, Nightwing, and Batgirl. We got our first gameplay during the first-ever DC FanDome, which teased a brawler-style game where you can freely explore a neon-take on Gotham. There are elements from the original Arkham series that are included, but still, try to take a different approach that fits the younger members of the Bat-family. The only confirmed threats are Mr. Freeze and the Court of Owl, who might have closer ties to the sudden death of Bruce Wayne. This is our first real update on the game in quite some time. So, hopefully, they can stick to this new release date.

  • CW’s ‘Gotham Knights’ Adds Fallon Smythe and Tyler DiChiara

CW’s ‘Gotham Knights’ Adds Fallon Smythe and Tyler DiChiara

After the first casting hints teased what we may expect from CW’s take on Gotham Knights, it seems that the first castings have been finalized. Variety has revealed that Fallon Smythe and Tyler DiChiara have joined the project as series regulars. The one-hour drama will explore the Bat-family dealing with the supposed murder of Bruce Wayne, where his son has to band together with the children of Bat’s enemies to clear their names.

Smythe will be taking on the role of Harper Row while DiChiara will play her brother, Cullen Row. The casting confirms a report we shared earlier last month, where we shared that Dick Grayson, Spoiler, and Harper Row would headline the roster. This first casting is our hint that the others might follow in the near future as production is set to start in April. It’ll be interesting to see who they might announce and who’ll remain a secret.

The CW doesn’t have the greatest track record with their DC projects, which vary in quality. Yet, Arrow and The Flash defined the modern DC series before they started expanding an entire Arrowverse that interconnected. It’s unclear if Gotham Knights is its own project, but given its premise, it is very likely. Batwoman already introduced the series with Bruce Wayne having disappeared. Plus, we never meet any additional members of his Batfamily. So, a separate universe gives the creative team more flexibility.

  • CW’s ‘Gotham Knights’ April Production Start Confirmed Alongside New Logo

CW’s ‘Gotham Knights’ April Production Start Confirmed Alongside New Logo

The series Gotham Knights have been moving forward at quite the speed, as we first heard about the project back in December, as Natalie Abrams, James Stoteraux, and Chad Fivestash are joining the new Batman family-focused series after their work on Batwoman. We previously also shared some exclusive insights on the characters we’ll meet throughout the series’ runtime and that the series is eyeing an April production start.

Not too long after, it looks like director and writer Danny Cannon has shared a first look at the series’ logo and confirmed that the DC series will start production in April. It’s curious that it was shared without any casting confirmations so far. It’s a nice visual to confirm the production and the logo seems surprisingly simple for the series, but it may change as time goes by.

The series will explore the aftermath of Bruce Wayne’s murder, similar to what the game of the same name is exploring, and forces the unlikely family to work together. Unlike the upcoming Batman Arkham spinoff, we’ll get a wider cast that reflects how many people Batman has taken under his wing throughout his run as Gotham’s Caped Crusader. It’ll be fun to see these many personalities bounce off of each other and what chaos might ensue in the void left behind by Bruce’s death.

  • EXCLUSIVE: Dick Grayson, Harper Row and Spoiler Headline the Roster of CW’s ‘Gotham Knights’

EXCLUSIVE: Dick Grayson, Harper Row and Spoiler Headline the Roster of CW’s ‘Gotham Knights’

A decade after the premier of Arrow, the CW continues to expand its slate of live-action DC content. In the last decade, more than half a dozen series have made their way to the network and now production is close to beginning on the newest addition, Gotham Knights. The series just recently got a pilot order, meaning it’ll shoot its first episode before possibly being handed a series order. Since the initial report, fans have been in the dark on just who the series will follow with no details on its characters…until now.

Thanks to a friendly source, we’ve been able to put together a pretty good picture of the show’s core characters, the Bat Family. The series is currently looking to cast several series regulars ahead of an April start of production in Toronto.

Most notably, Gotham Knights is looking for an actor, 18 or older, to fill the role of a series regular that fits the bill of Dick Grayson, the first Robin and adopted son of Bruce Wayne.
Described as “athletic” and “sensitive”, the character remains resilient despite being vulnerable following the murder of his parents and subsequent adoption by Wayne.

Interestingly enough, it looks like Grayson won’t be the only former Robin on the show. It seems as though Grayson will be joined by Stephanie Brown, aka Spoiler, a genius-level hacker whose father, a DC villain called Cluemaster, raised her on a “steady diet of brain teasers and puzzles.” Gothman Knight is searching for an 18-year old actress to portray the “sarcastic and smart” character.

We can also deduce that Harper Row, aka Bluebird, is set to join Grayson on the team. The studio is searching for a female to play a “blue-haired bisexual” character who has taken to the streets to escape her abusive home life. Her brother, Cullen, also looks to be joining the series with the studio searching for a transgender actor who identifies as male for the role.

Gotham Knights will also feature “a quick-witted British attache” who sounds like she could be Julia Pennyworth, daughter of Alfred Pennyworth. In the comics, Julia came into the picture after her father was disabled following an attack from Hush. Following in her father’s footsteps, she helped the Bat Family coordinate their efforts.

Probably the most startling character headed for Gotham Knights is one described as the daughter of “the most dangerous man in Gotham.” First thoughts are that the series is going to introduce “Joker’s daugher”, Duela Dent, who claimed to be the daughter of the Joker and also claimed to be the daughter of about every villain in Gotham.

The CW is also searching for a handful of other series regulars, including one that could be Lucius Fox’s daughter, Tiffany, to join the team in addition to the already exciting number of characters listed here, many of whom will be making their live-action debut. There’s also room for plenty of guest stars and supporting members of the cast. Hopefully, with the scheduled start of production right around the corner, casting will start to trickle out soon.

  • ‘Gotham Knights’ Series in The Works at The CW

‘Gotham Knights’ Series in The Works at The CW

The CW just doesn’t seem to want to stop at this point and continues to expand its Arrowverse even after the death of the character that gave it its name. With new series like Superman and Lois, Naomi, and Stargirl releasing over the last few years, this multiverse just seems to be growing in every direction at this point. And they aren’t done yet, as there’s a new branch splitting off with another series set in Gotham focusing on the youth that will soon become Gothams newest protectors.

Some of the team behind Batwoman have banded together on an all-new project titled Gotham Knights, with no correlation to the upcoming video game, nor is it Batwoman spin-off. Natalie Abrams, James Stoteraux, and Chad Fivestash are the names behind the project with Stoteraux and Fivestash set to serve as executive producers on the project. No casting has been made on the project and all that is known is a brief synopsis provided in the initial report.

in the wake of Bruce Wayne’s murder, his rebellious adopted son forges an unlikely alliance with the children of Batman’s enemies when they are all framed for killing the Caped Crusader. And as the city’s most wanted criminals, this renegade band of misfits must fight to clear their names. But in a Gotham with no Dark Knight to protect it, the city descends into the most dangerous it’s ever been. However, hope comes from the most unexpected of places as this team of mismatched fugitives will become its next generation of saviors known as the Gotham Knights.

By the sound of that synopsis, the lead looks to be either Dick Grayson or Jason Todd, but the CW is notorious for changing things up drastically. As far as children of Batman’s most famous rogues go, we could be looking at characters like Cassandra Cain, Rose Wilson, or maybe even Helena Wayne. It’s currently unknown just how and where this series will fit into the overall Arrowverse as we await more details.

  • DC FANDOME: New Behind-The-Scenes Video Teases ‘Gotham Knight’s Court of Owls

DC FANDOME: New Behind-The-Scenes Video Teases ‘Gotham Knight’s Court of Owls

It’s been a long wait since we got our first look at Gotham Knights. WB Montréal will continue the Arkham franchise through a spinoff that explores a new kind of Gotham. Bruce Wayne is dead and the Court of Owls is starting their reign over the city he once protected. Of course, Gotham isn’t left without any protection, as Nightwing, Red Hood, Batgirl, and Robin will face off against the new threat. After a delay due to the pandemic, 2021’s DC FanDome gave us a new trailer and a look behind-the-scenes on their take of the Court of Owls.

Rocksteady’s upcoming Suicide Squad game will continue the storyline set up within the Arkham games while embracing a new direction for the game. It will combine the elements familiar to players from the iconic Batman gaming franchise, but takes more of a brawler direction. The first trailer gave us our first glimpse of the Bat-family working together and it looks like a promising addition to DC’s gaming line-up. Sadly, we still don’t have a release date for both, but they are continuing to eye 2022.

  • ‘Gotham Knights’ Producers Reveal Game Mechanics & Tease Franchise’s Future

‘Gotham Knights’ Producers Reveal Game Mechanics & Tease Franchise’s Future

DC FanDome has brought us some amazing surprises. We finally got our first look at Rocksteady’s Suicide Squad. The event even started with WB Games Montreal’s reveal of Gotham Knights. We still had a lot of open questions after the event. Luckily, IGN got a chance to interview Gotham Knights’ creative director Patrick Redding and senior producer Fleur Marty. They offered more insight into the game. Here’s a quick summary of what we learned from the interview:

    • This will potentially kickstart a new franchise. Redding teased something may already be development.
    • Gamestyle will be similar to third-person action-adventure brawlers.
    • Special abilities will be linked to an ability tree.
    • Characters play different and offer unique modifications and upgrade options. They point out Red Hood as a very unique character.
    • Gear is confirmed for the game. This is connected to melee and ranged weapons, as well as suit characteristics.
    • The city is open from the start. No level gating when exploring Gotham.
    • The game won’t be game-as-service.
    • The game can be played as a self-contained story or 2 player co-op.
    • The story takes place over multiple nights. Daytime is spent in the “Belfry” headquarter. During these sections, the characters will be out of costume, or at least show their face.
    • Alfred is confirmed to be in the game. Will appear in the Belfry.
    • Once again confirmed as a separate universe. This was planned since the beginning.

There is a lot to unpack in this short interview. It certainly is a departure from the Batman-heavy Arkham franchise. Gotham Knights will be quite a departure. I cannot wait to get my hands on the game. Already want to play as Red Hood. Also, Court of Owls is always a win.

  • FanDome: ‘Spider-Man’s Stephen Oyoung Playing Red Hood in ‘Gotham Knights’

FanDome: ‘Spider-Man’s Stephen Oyoung Playing Red Hood in ‘Gotham Knights’

Just today, we finally got the reveal for WB Games Montreal’s upcoming Batman game Gotham Knights. Surprisingly, it does not feature the iconic caped crusader as the main protagonist. You actually get to play as a variety of members of the Bat-family including Batwoman, Nightwing, Robin, and Red Hood. They teased that the game would feature co-op, so you’ll get to play alongside friends throughout the teased story. At the end of the trailer, they even confirmed that the Court of Owls will have an important role in moving forward. Shortly after the panel has ended, actor Stephen Oyoung, who many may remember as Martin Li from PlayStation’s Spider-Man, shared a tweet that he will be playing Red Hood.
