  • Rita Moreno Officially Joins ‘Fast X’

Rita Moreno Officially Joins ‘Fast X’

Fast X has added a legendary actor to its roster.

On Tuesday, Fast and the Furious leading man Vin Diesel took to social media to announce that Rita Moreno has joined the cast of Fast X. Moreno’s casting comes after Diesel teased the actress wanted to join the franchise ahead of the release of F9 last year. Moreno will play the role of Dom’s grandmother in the film.

In the video, which you can see below, Diesel says he has dreamed of working with Moreno and is thrilled to see her join the cast. “It’s been my dream forever to work with Rita Moreno, and the fact that she’s here playing my grandmother makes my soul smile,” Diesel said. “I’m so blessed.”

As Diesel pans the camera over to Moreno, the actress exclaims, “The answer is yes, I’ll do it.” She continues, “And yes, not only do it, but I’m tickled. I’m tickled to hell to do it. I’m so thrilled. It’s going to be such fun!”

Moreno is the latest legendary actress to join the franchise after expressing interest. Helen Mirren first expressed her interest in joining the family back in 2015 before finally joining the long-running franchise for F9 as Queenie.

Production on Fast X is currently underway. Despite a bit of a setback after Justin Lin exited the project over rumored differences with Diesel, Louis Leterrier stepped in as the director and production has since gotten back on track.

Fast X does not yet have a release date.

  • ‘Bob’s Burgers’ Director Explains Pandemic’s Impact On Movie

‘Bob’s Burgers’ Director Explains Pandemic’s Impact On Movie

Bob’s Burgers, the incredibly popular animated sitcom that began it’s run all the way back in 2011, has yet to show any signs of slowing down. Next up on it’s long list of accomplishments will be a theatrical installment, The Bob’s Burgers Movie, set to release later this month. Franchise creator Loren Bouchard wrote and co-directed the film based on a story he devised way back in 2018, before the movie’s release was delayed multiple times by the global COVID-19 pandemic. With all that’s happened in the world since then, it seems impossible that the script for The Bob’s Burgers Movie would still be exactly the same as it was when Bouchard turned in his original draft.

During a recent press conference promoting the project, Bouchard addressed just how much of the script was tweaked in the four years between conception and the film’s release. His answer revealed The Bob’s Burgers Movie actually never stopped changing:

We worked on this movie until just, it feels like last week.  We were determined to take every moment they gave us and keep working on it.  So yeah, it changed.  It wasn’t like it drastically changed, it was more like any time we had, we were excited to take advantage of. Tweak jokes, change, you know, picture, fool around with thesound.  It was not just the script, just everything was in our hands until they tore it from our little fingers.

    Loren Bouchard

One perk of animated shows such as Bob’s Burgers is a moving timeline that allows for freedom in storytelling. One might assume the story of the film would have to be altered dramatically to accommodate whatever was happening in the show, which continued to be produced throughout the pandemic. Luckily, animated worlds don’t necessarily have to play by realistic rules. The pandemic did, however, provide the creative team time to improve upon jokes and the film’s visual appeal. Bouchard’s answer is sure to make fans wonder what bits would and wouldn’t have made the cut had the film released as originally intended.

The Bob’s Burgers Movie hits theaters on May 27th.

  • ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ Trailer Features Some MAJOR Cosmic Entities, Including the Watcher

‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ Trailer Features Some MAJOR Cosmic Entities, Including the Watcher

We know that Thor: Love and Thunder will see Christian Bale’s Gorr the God Butcher on a mission to end all the gods. You’d think that kind of mission would catch the attention of some pretty powerful beings, and as it turns out, a scene from the new trailer hints at the potential inclusion of some of Marvel’s major Cosmic entities

While we can’t be sure exactly WHERE Jane Foster’s Mighty Thor is in the scene below, we sure can identify the busts in that location.

Mistress Death, Eon and Infinity look to line the wall to the left of the shot, while Uatu the Watcher and the Living Tribunal, who has made quite a few brief appearances in the MCU as of late, line the right.

It’ll be interesting to see if this is some sort of meeting area for the major Cosmic entities and if Jane goes there for help, or if this is some sort of elaborate trophy room for Gorr. We may well have to wait until July 8th to find out!

  • ‘The Bob’s Burgers Movie’ Director on Adjusting to Working on a Film

‘The Bob’s Burgers Movie’ Director on Adjusting to Working on a Film

The Bob’s Burgers Movie is the next cinematic expansion of a popular TV show heading to the big screen. Of course, the series has kept its original staff from the series to bring this story to life on the biggest screen possible. Naturally, it’s not the same as producing a TV series, but it seems that the creative team behind the project always took a cinematic approach when tackling their series from the get-go during the press conference to promote the film’s release.

The first thing we did: we always say with every episode we do, we would love to make it look like a movie. But the problem is, we do 22 episodes a year. It’s 11 hours of Bob’s Burgers. So, we’ve only got a few weeks at a time where we can focus on each episode. It wasn’t actually that big of a stretch on the movie, it’s just we had four years for an hour-and-a-half.

    Bernard Derriman

So, it seems like they made the best of the additional time to further build up the When they approached the film, Derriman also highlighted that “it was all stuff that we’ve always wanted to do on the show, we were able to now, in the movie.” The extra time to focus on a smaller timeframe certainly gave them the freedom they were hoping for to create the kind of story that was probably been in the back of their minds for some time. So, it’s going to be exciting to see what the film has to offer and how it may twist a story with the Belcher family.

  • ‘Jurassic World: Dominion’s Colin Trevorrow Talks How He Approach Dinosaurs Co-Existing With Humanity

‘Jurassic World: Dominion’s Colin Trevorrow Talks How He Approach Dinosaurs Co-Existing With Humanity

The ending of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom unleashed dinosaurs unto the rest of the world, as they escaped an underground black market. When we first heard of Dominion, the sequel seemingly teased that humanity is starting to co-exist with the prehistoric creatures that are now no longer trapped in a theme park or on an island, but rather actually living in the current world.

In an interview with Total Film, director Colin Trevorrow talks about how he approached the concept and highlighted how he tried to simply replicate how animals co-exist with us currently rather than twisting the concept that would make it seem too unrealistic. Dinosaurs are animals and we still co-exist with them, even have some as pets, which opens up a lot of potential.

But it was important to me that we try to at least approach it from a place of reality: what if this insane thing actually happened? The rule that we made was, we tried not to have dinosaurs do anything or interact in any way that animals wouldn’t in our modern world. You know, we have bears and tigers and lions and things that will eat you if you go into their territory, or mess with their young. We have animals in zoos. We weaponize them. We put them in our homes as pets. We sell them in markets. So all of these different realities are in this film in different ways.

    Colin Trevorrow

Trevorrow also goes on to highlight how Malta plays into the story, as it once again has dinosaurs trapped on an island. In a way, the sequence pays tribute to the original franchise with how they were trapped on Isla Nubar but this time without the rebuilt natural habitat to keep them at bay.

There is one city. There’s a sequence in Malta. The dinosaurs didn’t come there by choice. Malta is really the hub for the dinosaur underground black market. It’s where they’re imported and exported, bought and sold. And that’s part of our world, too – the animals are displaced from their natural habitat, as they were in the last movie, and brought to other places where they don’t necessarily belong. And chaos can easily ensue there…

    Colin Trevorrow

The concept is going to be quite interesting to explore, especially as it opens up what it means for the future of the franchise. Its selling point was the initial Jurassic Park that was swiftly left behind as the dinosaurs continue to find a way to escape their encapture after the first film. Yet, if they continue with the franchise going into a fourth, we may see more of a world where people learned to live with dinosaurs.

  • Letitia Wright Talks ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ And How it Honors Chadwick Boseman

Letitia Wright Talks ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ And How it Honors Chadwick Boseman

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is still a few more months out, as Thor: Love and Thunder remains in the spotlight for its upcoming July release in theaters. Yet, we’ve lately seen a few curious teases of what’s to come on the November film. While we’re still waiting for details, a seemingly first blurry look at Namor may have found its way online. We even got some crew merch that teased some Aztec influences in the sequel’s depiction of Atlantis.

Variety had a chance to interview Letitia Wright and asked her if she could offer any teases for what’s to come in Wakanda Forever. While she didn’t give away any specifics, outside that it’s going to be “jam-packed,” she did highlight that the sequel will definitely pay tribute to Chadwick Boseman‘s legacy.

It is an incredible honor for Chadwick Boseman. It’s Jam-packed with exciting stuff. November couldn’t come sooner.

    Letitia Wright

It did hit many by surprise when the actor tragically passed away in 2020. It definitely caught everyone by surprise and put the creative team in a challenging position. There are many discussions that they should recast the role online, but Black Panther‘s team decided to honor the actor by continuing the franchise without recasting him. It couldn’t have been an easy decision for Ryan Coogler and the rest of the team, but it looks like the sequel will definitely pay tribute to the character as well as the actor.

  • Chris Hemsworth Calls ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ the “Greatest Thing” He’s Ever Worked On

Chris Hemsworth Calls ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ the “Greatest Thing” He’s Ever Worked On

Thor star Chris Hemsworth took to social media ahead of the release of the Thor: Love and Thunder official trailer to hype up fans for the drop on Monday, May 23 during Game 4 of the NBA Eastern Conference Finals. Not only does the veteran Marvel Cinematic Universe actor tell fans that the trailer itself will “blow your mind,” but he goes on to say that Love and Thunder is the “greatest thing” he has ever worked on. In his video, he states:

This trailer is going to blow your mind! It is something that I am so so proud of… [the film] is the greatest thing I have ever had the pleasure and honor of working on.

    Chris Hemsworth

That is high praise coming from a prolific actor who—just in the MCU—has starred in 7 major movies between the Thor and Avengers franchises. So, Hemsworth is hyping up Love and Thunder as, in his experience, greater than films like Thor: Ragnarok, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame. Of course, the marketing push for the fourth Thor film is ramping up, so naturally, the stars and creators are going to say things to get fans interested. Still, it is poised to be quite an interesting film that could live up to Hemsworth’s praise. Check out the actor’s full video below:

Fans will soon be able to decide for themselves whether the official trailer blows their minds, but here are some of the things we hope to see in it.

Thor: Love and Thunder is set to release in theaters on July 8, 2022.

  • Mike Myers Would be Down to Voice Shrek Every Year

Mike Myers Would be Down to Voice Shrek Every Year

Mike Myers has been quite busy lately with his new Netflix series, The Pentaverate. Surprising everyone, we got the, technically, first live-action Shrek in the series once again voiced by Myers. In an interview with Variety, the actor reflects on his history voicing the character and excitement to do more in the future.

The Euro-centric form that is the fairytale is really about classicism,” Myers said. “When I was approached to do ‘Shrek’ I originally did it as a Canadian and then I re-recorded it as Scottish because that seemed to be the most working class [accent]. I also I love the Scottish people. I have Scottish ancestry. I’m mostly English but Liverpool is the pool of life between Scotland, England, and Ireland.

    Mike Myers

While it seems that a Shrek revival is potentially in the works, there’s still no official word on it. Still, it seems that Mike Myers would be down to play the character every year if he could.

There’s an emotional center there. You know the old joke: I wouldn’t want to be a member of a club that would have me as a member. I have always felt that way. The concept of going from a self-loathing ogre to a self-accepting ogre was meaningful to me. I love playing ‘Shrek’. If I had to do one ‘Shrek’ a year I’d be thrilled.

    Mike Myers

Not only was the original franchise quite a financial success, but it also put Dreamworks on the map. Even if we haven’t had an entry for years, the franchise definitely became a milestone for the mem community, which have had quite a lot of fun using the character in whatever way they could. So, no matter what, the franchise will remain a strong one.

  • New ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ Crew Merch May Further Hint at Mayan Influences on MCU’s Atlantis

New ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ Crew Merch May Further Hint at Mayan Influences on MCU’s Atlantis

It looks like some more things are finding their way online from the upcoming release of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Not only did it seem like a blurry image of what might be Tenoch Huerta‘s Namor leak online, but now some crew merchandise has also surfaced online. Now, what stands out is that besides the iconic Wakandan language, you can see a baseball cap with what seems like Tepeyollotl on it, who is the Aztec Jaguar God. Further highlighting the potential Mayan and Aztec influences on the MCU’s Atlantis.

The fact that the Jaguar God is focused on is quite an interesting direction to take the concept. In a way, it would hint that perhaps Atlantis has a similar origin that Wakanda had. A chosen warrior by their feline god gives them the power to protect their kingdom, perhaps a misunderstanding of how the mutation works that Namor inherits. Both cities stayed hidden and developed in a way that the rest of the world could not keep up with.

Whatever may lead to a potential conflict between Atlantis and Wakanda may also be played into their origin. Perhaps knowing that they both went through similar things, the eventual conflict could be ended through some form of diplomacy. Of course, it also raises the question if Atlantis’ attack may also be echoed by their beliefs. Fun fact, a panther is commonly referred to a Jaguar or Leopard with black fur.
