  • ‘The Flash’s Sound Mixer Confirms Production Wrapped on DC Movie

‘The Flash’s Sound Mixer Confirms Production Wrapped on DC Movie

The DCEU is expanding and will enter the multiverse with the upcoming film centered around Ezra Miller‘s Barry Allen. The film will reintroduce Michael Keaton as Batman, who will work alongside the young hero. In June, we got some set photos from the production that offered our first look at an older Bruce Wayne from another universe. Of course, he’s not the only Batman, as Ben Affleck is also set to return in the iconic role.

Just the other day, he shared his enthusiasm for working on the film and it seems they’re already winding down production. Colin Nicolson, a production sound mixer for the upcoming DC film, shared a post on Instagram confirming they’re wrapping up after 124 days of production. In it, he is standing proudly alongside his sound team for the film.

DC FanDome isn’t far and we might get a preview of the film to tie us over until its release in November of next year. It’s too early to get a full trailer, but the pandemic has changed things but any glimpse might say a lot about what the film has to offer. The multiverse is no easy feat and we’ll see if there are many more Batmen heading our way once the film releases. As they wrapped production, they’ll enter the post-production phase before figuring out some details to enter reshoots. Here’s hoping we get a glimpse at the film’s many universes and why Allen decided to enter it in the first place.

  • Ben Affleck Compares Working on ‘The Flash’ to ‘Justice League’

Ben Affleck Compares Working on ‘The Flash’ to ‘Justice League’

The upcoming film adaptation of The Flash has slowly evolved into the center point of the DC Extended Universe’s multiverse. Ezra Miller’s Barry Allen will somehow meet up with various incarnations of the popular vigilante Batman. We know that Michael Keaton will have a considerable role in the film, but Ben Affleck will also make his grand return in the role of Bruce Wayne.

Of course, he famously moved away from the franchise after the turbulent production on Justice League after Zack Snyder left the project. We only got teases of his Batsuit from set photos, but never a direct sighting of Affleck. While silent on his exact role, Variety lucked ou stand got a chance to ask him how it was like working on the film. In the interview, he ended up also opening up about how it compares to his previous DC project.

[The Flash] was a really nice way to revisit that as the prior experience had been difficult. This was really lovely. Really fun… I had a great time… I love Ezra and I had a chance to see Jason [Momoa], who’s over there making ‘Aquaman [and the Lost Kingdom].

    Ben Affleck

There’s been a lot of hope he can revisit his original Batman pitch before he ended up moving on from the project. While it’s exciting to see Matt Reeves bringing a gothic touch to the series, but there’s always curious about what Affleck‘s version would’ve looked like. A positive experience could interest him in giving it another chance. So, we’ll see if its success may kickstart a separate Batman franchise to exist alongside Reeve‘s adaptation.

  • CW’s ‘The Flash’ Leaked Set Photos Offer First Look of Osric Chau’s Atom in Costume

CW’s ‘The Flash’ Leaked Set Photos Offer First Look of Osric Chau’s Atom in Costume

In the crossover event, Crisis on Infinite Earths, we got a glimpse of the multiverse that was plunged into chaos by the Anti-Monitor. To stop the crisis, seven paragons had to come together. Among them was Ryan Choi, played by Osric Chau. The character would briefly show up in this event before going back to his normal life after many thought he’d be suiting up and replacing Brandon Routh’s Ray Palmer. Luckily, it seems they are making up for it soon, as revealed by a leaked set photo shared by @Themyscirabound.

Chau‘s Ryan Choi is sporting a very different look than the previous Atom. He’s finally ditching the exoskeleton and embracing the character’s original red and blue spandex. It’ll be interesting to see how Choi developed technology and if Palmer passed on the mantle. Brandon Routh is set to return as Ray Palmer in the Armageddon crossover event. The special will consist of eight individual and smaller crossover episodes between the heroes of the Arrowverse.

Chau and Roth will be joined by many fan-favorite characters. The list includes Cress Williams as Black Lightning, Catherine McNamara as Mia Queen, Javicia Leslie as Batwoman, Chyler Leigh as Sentinel, Tom Cavanagh as Eobard Thawne, and Neal McDonough as Damien Darhk. Hopefully, Chau will join the Arrowverse permanently. Perhaps there’s a future for the character as part of Team Flash moving forward.

  • First Look At John Wesley Ship in ‘Stargirl’ Season 2

First Look At John Wesley Ship in ‘Stargirl’ Season 2

Right off the bat, Stargirl threw us into a fight between the Justice Society of America and the Injustice Society of America. It left us with the question if we’d seen the last of the golden age heroes. The series would continue to explore a new generation of heroes, led by Courtney Whitmore. She picked up the cosmic staff in order and assembled a new JSA to defeat the ISA.

While brief flashbacks would give us glimpses at the heroes of the JSA in action, we’d never really see them in their prime. The second season of Stargirl seems to be giving fans a glimpse into the past with episode nine set to feature the return of not just the JSA, but Jay Garrick. It was announced a while back the John Wesley Ship would be reprising his role as Jay Garrick for the series sophomore season.

Ship is best known for portraying Barry Allen back in the 90s during the original Flash series. He would later play Henry Allen on CW’s The Flash, picking up the role of Jay Garrick of Earth-3 shortly after. This time around Garrick will be from Earth-2 following the events of Crisis on Infinite Earths in which the multiverse got a reboot. It lead to Earth-2 getting reshaped into the home of Stargirl and the JSA. The upcoming episode may tie into the overarching threat that is Eclipso and how he ended up imprisoned in the black diamond.

  • Andy Muschietti Teases an Unconventional ‘THE FLASH’ Suit

Andy Muschietti Teases an Unconventional ‘THE FLASH’ Suit

Batman is all the rage right now. Next year will see not one but three live-action Batmen on the big screen. The interesting part is that two of them will star in the same movie. Since production on The Flash began, director Andy Muschietti has been dropping emblem reveals for his film’s protagonist. Many fans are eager to see the return of Ben Affleck as Batman and assumed Batman Day would be the day, but to not avail. To catch us off-guard, Muschietti did indeed share a tease, just a day late.

In a new Instagram post, the director revealed another look at a costume for the upcoming film, but this time it’s sending some mixed signals. What we’ve got this time around is a Batsuit belonging to Keaton but seems to have been spray-painted red with a yellow lightning bolt over the bat. It seems this could be a look at one of Barry’s possible suits in the film. There are also some noticeable differences from previous teases.

In Justice League, it is revealed that Barry’s suit is made out of the same materials Nasa uses to protect its spaceships from burning up once they re-entered Earth’s atmosphere. To keep it from falling apart, it is held together with wiring. Barry used this suit to run around in as it’s the only material that can withstand his abilities. There’s a chance that his suit cannot withstand whatever leads him into the multiverse and is destroyed upon arrival. This old Batsuit acts as a replacement until he eventually gets his new suit revealed at last year’s Fandome, which we saw in some set photos. It’ll be interesting to see if we get a closer look at this year’s DC FanDome.

  • ‘The Flash’ Set Photos Offer First Look at Despero

‘The Flash’ Set Photos Offer First Look at Despero

Season 8 of The Flash is set to kickoff with a multi episode crossover over titled “Armageddon.” The crossover will see many popular and familiar faces from across the Arrowverse return for a team-up alongside Barry Allen. The five part crossover event will see the return of Brandon Routh as the ATOM, Javicia Leslie as Batwoman, Cress Williams as Black Lightning, and Kat McNamara as Mia Queen. The characters will return to help Flash face Despero, a galactic warlord who has made his way to earth.

New set photos from the set of Flash have given us our very first look at Despero, played by Tony Curran. While it isn’t exactly a full look at the villain, some tracking cut outs give us a look at his shoulders and up, sporting a classic pink look with elf like ears and a large fin. The only thing that seems to be missing is the third eye that allows him to use his Psionic abilities.

Despero is quite the foe. For those unfamiliar with the character he first appeared all the way back in 1960’s Justice League of America #1, and was created by Mike Sekowsky and Gardner Fox. Despero hails from the planet of Kalanor, which he rules with an iron fist as a tyrant. Despero made travels the galaxy looking for foes worthy of a fight, and may explain why so many past characters will return in this years crossover event to help defeat Despero and send him back to Kalanor.

  • RUMOR: ‘The Flash’s Villain Might Be an Evil Barry Allen

RUMOR: ‘The Flash’s Villain Might Be an Evil Barry Allen

It looks like we might’ve gotten some more insight into the mysterious multiversal plot surrounding The Flash. Not so long ago, we saw set photos featuring a stand-in for Ezra Miller next to the actor himself. It implied we’ll meet multiple versions of Barry Allen. It seems there’s more to this than we thought, as The Direct has shared some insight into the main villain of the film, an evil version of Barry.

They claim that the story will take inspiration from Flashpoint, but a doppelganger will take the place of Reverse-Flash.  So, it will remain that the Flash will go up against another speedster, but it’ll end up being a displaced Barry Allen. It’s uncertain if it might also echo the CW show’s this, where an alternative version of Barry turned out to be the villain Savitar. It’s not stated that they’d take inspiration from this version of the character, or it’s simply an evil Flash.

It’s a popular storyline in the comics as well, as Wally West faced an evil version of himself known as Walter West or the Dark Flash. He might be the cause for the multiversal rift or a showcase of what would happen if the character ends up down a darker path. The concept isn’t too bad, but it’s strange they’d replace such an iconic villain. There’s a chance they don’t want to introduce this new villain and somehow fit him into the story while exploring the multiverse. We’ll see if further details are teased as the film continues production.

  • Latest ‘The Flash’ Set Photos Offer First Look at Ben Affleck’s Batman

Latest ‘The Flash’ Set Photos Offer First Look at Ben Affleck’s Batman

The Flash has had quite a few set photos leak online, and it seems that isn’t stopping anytime soon. We got our first look at Sasha Calle‘s Supergirl through a set photo and even a test of Michael Keaton. Well, the latest offers our first look at Ben Affleck returning as the iconic Gotham Knight.

His return got announced eleven months ago, and the latest photos from the film’s set offer a look at his new suit and bat-themed motorcycle. It’s the first time we see one of the teased Caped Crusaders in his iconic cowl. The images got shared by Twitter user @FlashFilmNews.

The modern design of the suit and similarities to previous appearances gives away that it is Affleck‘s version of the character. As we don’t see him directly on set, it could potentially end up being another Batman we haven’t heard about yet. We also get a video of him on the new motorcycle driving through the streets. It got a shared tweet by Twitter user @BingeWatchThis_.

We still don’t quite know how Affleck‘s version of the character will fit into the film’s story. It would be exciting to see him and Michael Keaton interact. The shooting location seems to be the same, which could imply they’ll eventually meet. Barry’s journey through the multiverse might give us an entire Batman army to face whatever evil he unleashed by his actions. We’ll see if we get a picture of Affleck without his mask on set as more set photos find their way online.
