  • Leaked ‘THE FALCON AND THE WINTER SOLDIER’ Marvel Legends May Hint at John Walker’s Fate, Wave BAF

Leaked ‘THE FALCON AND THE WINTER SOLDIER’ Marvel Legends May Hint at John Walker’s Fate, Wave BAF

Yesterday we got a good look at Sam Wilson’s new Captain America suit via the Disney Store. It wasn’t much of a spoiler as most fans believe Sam will eventually take on the mantle of Captain America and the suit itself looks to have been ripped straight from Stuart Immonen’s comic design; however, today a new set of images have leaked, this time of Marvel Legends from the upcoming series, and one might just be a little spoilery.

At the end of Episode 1 of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, Wyatt Russell’s John Walker was announced to the world as the new Captain America. Since most fans are of the mind that the series will wrap up with Sam as Cap, logic dictates we aren’t likely to have 2 Caps, so what will happen to Walker? As you can see in the photos below, it looks like at some point in the show, Walker will change gears a little bit and become U.S. Agent.

Walker has gone by U.S. Agent more often than not in the comics, so this shouldn’t come as a surprise to avid readers, but not everyone watching Disney Plus is a comic book aficionado. The figure shows off a darker suit for Walker, more in line with his familiar comic book ensemble. If Walker is still standing at the end of the series, we could see Russell marching into future MCU projects (Thunderbolts?) as U.S. Agent.

In addition to Walker, the series will feature Baron Zemo (it’s still interesting to me that he’s called “Baron”) and Bucky Barnes figures and all 3 include what are clearly pieces of the wings we saw on Sam Wilson’s Cap suit, meaning that Sam Wilson Captain America is the Build-A-Figure for the wave! We’ll keep our eyes open to see if we can fill in the rest of the figures in the wave but for now we’ve gotten a great look and some insight into what to expect as the series unfolds.

  • Third ‘My Hero Academia’ Film Title and Release Date Leaked

Third ‘My Hero Academia’ Film Title and Release Date Leaked

It is a good week to be a My Hero Academia fan. It’s been a year since the anime’s 4th season ended and fans have been eager to see what comes next. After a long wait, the famed anime franchise will finally kick off its brand new season this Saturday. It is set to cover two important story arcs. The first story arc will adapt the Joint Training storyline, where Classes 1A and 1B band together. In the second one, they will also cover the manga’s climatic Meta Liberation Army battle, which will focus on the League of Villains. That’s not the only thing fans are looking forward to. Ever since the teaser and announcement of the third My Hero Academia film, fans have been eager to know more about the film’s plot and story. Well, thanks to the savvy Twitter user @Atsushi101X, we finally got some more details on the film.

    https://twitter.com/Atsushi101X/status/1375007760266403852?s=20

The picture seems to be a key art for the film, along with some very interesting details. The third film installment will be titled “World Heroes’ Mission.” It’s set to release on August 6th, 2021. An official announcement is expected to be made at AnimeJapan 2021 this weekend.

Based on the imagery, theories could be made that this film might adapt the Endeavor Agency arc from the manga. Izuku Midoriya, Katsuki Bakugo, and Shoto Todoroki undergo a Hero Work internship with Shoto’s father and No. 1 hero, Endeavor. There is a good chance it might also introduce us to the No. 2 heroes, Hawks, who has a relatively strong role during this arc in the Manga.

  • ‘007: No Time to Die’s Cary Fukunaga Adapting Rick Remender’s ‘TOKYO GHOST’

‘007: No Time to Die’s Cary Fukunaga Adapting Rick Remender’s ‘TOKYO GHOST’

The list of comic book adaptations in development continues to grow. Rick Remender‘s Tokyo Ghost is a classic cyberpunk comic. It takes place in a futuristic Los Angeles and in the garden nation of Tokyo. It is getting adapted to the big screen with Cary Fukunaga (007: No Time to Die) set to direct. Hollywood Reporter also confirmed that Fukunaga will serve as producer with Remender penning the script.

The series, originally published by Image Comics, came out in 2015 and ended after its 10th issue. The story told in comic form is certainly something that, due to its structure, might allow for the development of not one but two movies. The original series ended with a massive cliffhanger. One might assume that it could go beyond the original story in subsequent chapters could become a reality. As a fan of the series, I certainly hope so.

Remender also worked on 2018’s Deadly Class, a series adapting one of his best comic series. It got produced by the Russo Brothers that sadly got canceled after just one season. Ever since, it gathered a considerable following after being made available through Netflix, which allowed it to reach a larger audience. Fear Agent, another of Remender’s comics, is also being adapted by Seth Rogen’s production company for Amazon. He remains one of the most prolific comic book writers of the past decade. has developed several brilliant independent series (Black Science, Death or Glory, and Low, Scumbag to name a few) as well as a few books for Marvel, being one of the minds behind giving Sam Wilson the Captain America shield, something being currently developed in Disney+’s Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

  • ‘The Flash’: Ron Livingston to Replace Billy Crudup as Multiple Join Cast

‘The Flash’: Ron Livingston to Replace Billy Crudup as Multiple Join Cast

The Flash has had quite the development history. It went through countless directors and scripts, as such it is the textbook definition of development hell. The rumors hint at the film taking inspiration from the popular storyline Flashpoint, in which Barry Allen traveled back in time to save his mother from getting killed. In return, he ended up destroying the timeline and causing a whole mess of new issues. The project finally made some movement when it added Andy Muschietti to direct. The script was penned by Christina Hodson. Now, the film is finally rounding out its cast.

About a week ago, it got announced that Billy Crudup, who played Henry Allen in Zack Snyder’s Justice League, is unable to reprise the role in the upcoming solo film due to scheduling issues. Now, it’s gotten confirmed today that actor Ron Livingston will replace him in the film. Also, two more joined the film. Saoirse-Monica Jackson and Rudy Mancuso have been cast in undisclosed roles. Ian Loh is also joining the film as young Barry Allen in the upcoming film.

The Flash will hit theaters on November 2nd, 2022 with Ezra Miller set to reprise his role as Barry Allen alongside Keirsey ClemonsBen Affleck, Michael KeatonSasha Calle, and Maribel Verdú.

  • Latina-Led ‘National Treasure’ Original Series Heading to Disney+

Latina-Led ‘National Treasure’ Original Series Heading to Disney+

In the early 2000s, film producer Jerry Bruckheimer teamed up with Walt Disney Pictures to produce an action-adventure mystery film franchise based on the history of the United States and the many conspiracies surrounding its founding. It would become known as the National Treasure franchise. Almost 15 years after the release of the sequel, various rumors about a revival have been making the rounds. Finally, the project got greenlit as an original series for Disney+.

While details regarding the show are scarce, Deadline revealed that the first season will consist of 10 episodes. The biggest surprise is that it is a departure from the original films, as it is dubbed as a “complete reimagining” of the franchise. The project will be written by the same writers, Marianne Wibberley and Cormac Wibberley, who are returning alongside producer Jerry Bruckheimer.  Mira Nair has joined the project as director.

This reimagining will get told from the perspective of Jess Morales and her friends. They will set out on an adventure to uncover the history behind her family and discover new, untold treasures. The series will also explore multiple thematics that are relevant to today’s day and age. Of course, it will keep the same sense of adventure, appreciation, and conspiracy inspired by the American history that these films explored in the 2000s. No date has gotten revealed for its release at this time.

  • ‘Falcon and the Winter Soldier’: Leak Offers Closer Look at Sam Wilson’s Captain America Suit

‘Falcon and the Winter Soldier’: Leak Offers Closer Look at Sam Wilson’s Captain America Suit

It looks like a recent leak may have given us another look at what may end up being Sam Wilson’s Captain America uniform. The first episode has left it open if Wilson would ever take on the role, but it still seems likely that his journey throughout Falcon and the Winter Soldier will eventually lead to him accepting it. So, we’ve been wondering what his new suit might look like ever since he was given the shield by Steve in Avengers: Endgame. Well, it looks like The Direct noticed an international listing on Tmall retail which gave us a close look at his new outfit. Sam will definitely combine the iconic look from Steve with his Falcon uniform.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier

This leak might be the closest look we ever got at a design long before it was officially shown. The details look great, as we can clearly see the red, white, and blue throughout his design. I love how his design focuses more on the white in contrast to Steve’s blue-dominated uniform. It is a perfect mixture of his current uniform on the Disney+ show and what we are used to with Captain America. I am excited to see how he gets this uniform. It wouldn’t be too surprising that something was prepared by Stark tech after they referenced his Falcon suit’s hardware in the premiere episode. We still don’t know how he gets the shield back and how it might get included in the show, so it’ll be exciting to keep an eye out for the next episodes.

  • Helen Mirren Set to Play Lead Villain in ‘Shazam: Fury of The Gods’

Helen Mirren Set to Play Lead Villain in ‘Shazam: Fury of The Gods’

Production for the upcoming sequel to the 2019 hit film Shazam! is fast approaching with the original cast set to return. We already know that actress Rachel Zegler is joining the cast. Plot details for the film are still under wraps, but it seems the film has found its main antagonist.

Today it was reported that veteran actress Helen Mirren has joined the cast of Shazam: Fury of The Gods. She is set to play the lead villain of the film named Hespera. Her character is the daughter of the Greek Titan Atlas. That name has no clear ties to any specific DC character, however, Atlas does, in fact, exist within the DC Universe. However diving deeper into Mythology, Atlas had many children but one of which was a group known as the Hesperides. This group consisted of three known as Aegle, Erytheia, and Hespere. That last name is almost identical to that of Mirren’s character. Awhile back it was rumored that the film was looking to cast three wicked sisters as antagonists, and the Hesperides fit that well.

Shazam: Fury of The Gods is set to hit theaters on June 2nd, 2023, and will feature the return of Asher Angel as Billy Batson and Zachary Levi as the titular hero Shazam.

  • Disney Unveils Its Disney+ Releases for ‘Cruella’ and ‘Luca’

Disney Unveils Its Disney+ Releases for ‘Cruella’ and ‘Luca’

It looks like Disney is facing a long list of delays with the recent news that Black Widow won’t premiere in May. It has been pushed back into July taking over Shang-Chi and the Legends of the Ten Rings’ spot, which will now release in September. Of course, this also affects the rest of Disney’s upcoming film slate, which has been pushed back into the second half of the year. There is one exception, as Emma Stone‘s Cruella is sticking to its May 28th release date. It will also become a Disney+ Premier Access offering while also airing in theaters.

That isn’t all, as Pixar’s upcoming film Luca will be available on Disney+. Strangely, the second Pixar entry is getting this treatment by being made available directly without any Premier Access offering. There are plenty of other delays, such as Ryan ReynoldsFree Guy releasing in August, The King’s Man being pushed into late December while Deep Water and Death on the Nile being pushed into 2022.

Disney has been very keen on pushing Disney+, which has offered them some flexibility in the current pandemic-affected market. It is uncertain if the other releases mentioned above may face a similar fate, but anything can change. It was already a major surprise to see Black Widow get a simultaneous release, as Disney has been very focused on ensuring its theatrical release. They have pushed out this decision for quite some time, which is also the reason why it had to be delayed. They want to advertise it far in advance to ensure they can get people informed it will be available through both sources. It’s going to be an interesting year moving forward.

  • ‘Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings’ Pushed Back Into September

‘Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings’ Pushed Back Into September

It has been a long wait for any news regarding the first cinematic entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe since Spider-Man: Far From Home. The news has finally dropped that the film will release in July. Now, what makes it stand out, even more, is that this means Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings has to find a new release date. THR can confirm it will now release September 3rd rather than its original July release date. There is no mention of Eternals. So, it seems likely that the film will keep its November slot.

The direction is an interesting surprise, as we feared they would postpone every single release into the next slot. It looks like they aren’t interested in pushing it back any further. It makes sense, as their focus will be to promote Black Widow‘s upcoming release on Disney+ and give the other films some breathing room to develop. It is uncertain if Shang-Chi will also be getting a release on Disney+, but they might be waiting out how things develop before finalizing that decision.

Here’s hoping that things will start to slowly come together and we are facing a better future for cinemas. Disney still believes in its development, as many other delays have been mapped out for other releases. The fact they are sticking with Eternals release is a motivating decision, as it confirms they do believe things will have calmed down by then. Still, only time will tell, but we at least finally get to see Black Widow after more than a year of wait in July.
