  • Katia Winter Joins ‘The Boys’ Season 3 as Little Nina

Katia Winter Joins ‘The Boys’ Season 3 as Little Nina

The Boy’s is becoming one hot property. The spinoff is in the works, and the third season has already entered production. It’s going to be interesting to see how they’ll top the previous season. Still, the series is known for its thrilling story and gratuitous violence that keeps getting wilder with each episode. It looks like the upcoming season will probably not stray too far from its predecessors. The third season will introduce Soldier Boy, Payback, and the untamed Herogasm storyline that is what you think it is. Along with Soldier Boy, it seems another considerable threat is coming this season, the Russian mobster Little Nina.

According to Deadline, actress Katia Winter has joined the cast of The Boys. She will play the Russian mobster with an affinity for sex toys. The character is indeed a wild one, but nothing out of the ordinary for this property. Little Nina works with Vought. She uses compound-V to make more superheroes and has quite possibly one of the weirdest deaths in comics. Butcher added an explosive in her vibrator and blew it up mid-flight. It is unsure if they will adapt this iconic sequence from the comics or add their spin, which will get interesting once it airs.

The Boys season 3 is now in production but currently has no release date. The upcoming season will see the return of Karl Urban as Billy Butcher. He will be joined by Anthony StarrJack QuaidErin Moriarty, Karen Fukuhara, and Laz Alonso.

  • ‘The Suicide Squad’ Trailer Reveals a Startling Threat

‘The Suicide Squad’ Trailer Reveals a Startling Threat

Ever since the first reveal at DC FanDome, fans have been eagerly awaiting a new look at The Suicide Squad. The film will see the return of Task Force X. We’ll get to see some familiar and new faces that won’t survive the experience. The film will follow the newly formed squad, as they’re dropped into a South American country to fight something that is probably out of their leagues. Luckily, these kinds of trailers have a lot of secrets. Even better, we happened to notice a few curious details that might tease the film’s story.

The first notable detail is from the beginning of the trailer. We see the squad en route to free a capture Quinn, who seems to be a key member of the team. Waller briefly glances at Harley’s rap sheet. It includes a new mugshot and some recent additions. Upon these new badges of criminality, eagle-eyed viewers will notice “Vigilantism,” “kidnapping,” and “Extortion.” These crimes were committed by Quinn in the 2020 film Birds of Prey when she frees Cassandra Cain from Prison and proceeds to keep her safe from the sadistic Roman Sionis. This little detail shows that Harley is continuing to move away from Joker, and her character progression continues here. I’m not sure if there was any doubt that there would, but it’s still nice to see.

In this very same scene, we get a brief glimpse at a monitor in front of her. The monitor is streaming footage from a plane. It appears to be carrying the team members teased earlier in the trailer. You can make out Savant, Javelin, and what seems to be Rick Flag. There is a good chance they edited this scene to make it look like Harley’s rescue is happening simultaneously. In the footage, we see Javelin on the plane in one piece, but when Harley appears, later on, she’s wielding his spear. It would imply that he died at one point. This slight and easily missed detail is clever to keep us off the film’s timeline.

There is a particularly eye-catching scene with Harley Quinn, which presumably could be happening mid-breakout due to her bloody nose. She seems to be surrounded by a wide array of flowers that seem to be blooming behind her. This scene could be reminiscent of Harley’s GCPD jailbreak in which she leads a full-on, one-woman assault on the station to free Cass. Yet, instead of blood, all we see is glitter going off in every possible direction. It might be the return of “Harley Vision” that replaces the actual gore of the sequence with some colorful flourishes.

Now, we have to talk about the standout character of King Shark, who is already a bonafide hit. Sylvester Stallone finally confirmed that he is voicing the character, who also had his first voice role in the latest trailer. There will be many comparisons between his character and James Gunn’s other mascot character, Groot. They both serve as the comedic foils for their respective films. He’s sure to be a scene-stealer as he munches and tears his way through the onslaught of foes.

Finally, the film gave us our first look at the big bad, Starro the Conqueror. He is an intergalactic starfish who uses his children as mind control devices. They attach to the faces of anyone and take control of their host’s mind. The villain has been rumored since the FanDome event after some eagle-eyed fans caught a glimpse of one of his stars on a soldier’s face, but it was never officially confirmed. John Economos, played by comedian Steve Agee, exclaims that “We’ve got a freaking Kaiju,” which is almost perfect considering this trailer will most likely play alongside Godzilla vs. Kong in theaters.

The Suicide Squad is set to release in theaters and on HBO Max on August 6th. The film was written and directed by James Gunn. It will star Margot RobbieIdris ElbaJohn Cena, Daniella MelchiorDavid DastmalchianSylvester StalloneJoel KinnamanPeter CapaldiJai CourtneyViola Davis, and so many more as the film sports on the most all-star cast in the comic book genre.

  • ‘The Suicide Squad’ Trailer Confirms Sylvester Stallone as King Shark

‘The Suicide Squad’ Trailer Confirms Sylvester Stallone as King Shark

There has been an ongoing debate about who might be voicing King Shark in James Gunn‘s The Suicide Squad. At one point, it was revealed that Taika Waititi had joined the cast. After his performance as Korg in Thor: Ragnarok, he seemed like the perfect person to voice the loveable human shark. Suddenly, Silvester Stallone was confirmed to appear in the film, which made us wonder if he might also be the one voicing the character. Finally, the latest trailer released and King Shark actually has a speaking part. It confirmed that Stallone is indeed the one taking on the loveable maneater’s voice:

    https://twitter.com/JamesGunn/status/1375481778064957440

He even confirmed it on Instagram shortly after the trailer dropped:

Overall, the trailer looks like a lot of fun that perfectly blends James Gunn‘s humor with comic book insanity. Just like Guardians of the Galaxy‘s Groot, King Shark will certailny become a fan-favorite once the film releases. Their interpretation of the character is also a departure from the comics. Yes, he was a bloodthirsty shark in the comics, but he’s shown to be quite intelligent. The character already had his live-action debut on The Flash, where they changed his origin. He was a regular man that transformed into a half-man, half-shark, unlike in the comics, where he is the son of a shark god. It’s an interesting departure and will certailny add some humorous yet gory moments throughout the film’s runtime.

  • Tom Holland Confirms ‘SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME’ Production Wraps Today

Tom Holland Confirms ‘SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME’ Production Wraps Today

At the moment, much is being speculated about the story this film is meant to tell. Many believe that we’ll see Peter Parker on the run from the law as he tries to clear his name for the accusations against him regarding the “murder” of Quentin Beck aka Mysterio in Spider-Man: Far From Home. After months of following rigorous safety guidelines and health protocols, Spider-Man: No Way Home has reached its final day of production. The news was confirmed via a social media post by Tom Holland via an Instagram story.

The film will be quite the beast, as it may reintroduce Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock. Others have now begun to suspect that the film will delve into the multiverse, as Benedict Cumberbatch is confirmed to return as Doctor Strange in a mentor role. Jamie Foxx is reprising his role as Electro and Alfred Molina as Doctor Octavius has also been revealed. That wasn’t the end, as more theories started to grow when Willem Dafoe and Thomas Hayden Church were rumored to appear in this film. Just recently, Andrew Garfield‘s stunt double, William Spencer, seemingly leaked his involvement in the upcoming Spider-Man feature. However, even with all the speculation, the film has managed to keep much of its plot under wraps. Even Tom Holland has been behaving and hasn’t leaked anything for now. We still have some time before it releases on December 17, 2021, but it is slowly turning into a must-watch for the year.

  • ‘THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER: Jeff Goldblum Joins the Cast in Australia

‘THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER: Jeff Goldblum Joins the Cast in Australia

It’s been a few weeks since we’ve seen anything turn up from down under on the next installment of the Thor franchise but now, thanks to @wwos on Twitter, that drought is over. The account spotted a few Marvel Studios stars in Russell Crowe’s private suite at a rugby match in Australia on Friday and among them was the American National Treasure, Jeff Goldblum.

Goldblum, who was joined by Thor director Taika Waititi and a couple of Thors in Chris Hemsworth and Natalie Portman for the match, played the big screen version of the Grandmaster in Thor: Ragnarok and hasn’t been officially revealed to be return for Thor: Love and Thunder. While we cannot confirm he’s reprising the role of the Grandmaster for the film, it surely seems like a long way to go just to watch a rugby match in person. Additionally, Goldblum heavily teased his involvement in the film in an interview with EW last Fall:

I can’t reveal any secrets, not that I know anything definitively, but there’s a whisper of a thought or notion that I might have some participation in it,” Goldblum said. “I would love to [return], to the extent that Taika Waititi is directing it. I would show up anywhere where Taika Waititi is — and all of Marvel too.

Goldblum’s quirky Grandmaster was one of many highlights in Ragnarok. Last time we saw him, he was trying to talk his way out of a tough spot so his return to the MCU will almost certainly come with one hell of a story.

Thor: Love and Thunder is set for theaters on May 6, 2022.

  • ‘Mortal Kombat’: First Look at Nitara Revealed

‘Mortal Kombat’: First Look at Nitara Revealed

We’ve been anxiously awaiting the next attempt at a live-action adaptation of Mortal Kombat. The franchise found its footing on the silver screen in 1995. As technology wasn’t as advanced at the time, they focused on specific characters that wouldn’t be easy to adapt. Plus, the roster has only grown since then, as the game franchise is already on its eleventh incarnation. When they started advertising the film, we got a slew of character posters that revealed the massive roster. Yet, eagle-eyed viewers noticed that the trailers were hiding some secrets. It wasn’t until later that we got our first look at Cabal. Well, it seems one more classic fighter is joining the upcoming film, as Greg Russo has revealed our first look at Nitara:

The character made her debut in 2002’s Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance. She is a vampire that preys on the life of others, similar to Shang Tsung. Unlike him, she requires blood rather than soul energy. It looks like her live-action design will keep the iconic wings, but her body seems covered in something. There is a chance that she might be able to transform. So, we’ve only gotten a glimpse at her true form. Hopefully, she’ll still stick to her gothic design from the games, or at least they pay tribute to it. The character is neutral and doesn’t serve anyone. It’ll be interesting to see how large a role she might have, but if they didn’t even give her an official announcement, she might be one of the many Fatality victims throughout the film.

  • First Gameplay for ‘The Lord of the Rings: Gollum’ Released

First Gameplay for ‘The Lord of the Rings: Gollum’ Released

Lord of the Rings is slowly making its grand return. Amazon is still hard at work at developing a brand new series that takes place in J.R.R. Tolkiens’ fantasy world. We’ve seen the Lord of the Rings’ Middle-Earth games offered an action-packed take on the franchise. I loved the introduction of the Nemesis system, which added a wild factor to every time you wished to explore the various regions. Now, the franchise is expanding with a new game that focuses on the iconic character Gollum. It has been seven months since the first teaser trailer released and after a long wait, they finally unveiled the first gameplay trailer, which you can check out right here:

It makes sense a Gollum-focused story would lend itself to a stealth game style. The trailer offers a small glimpse at the different locations you’ll be visiting throughout your time playing the game. It certailny looks like the game might be puzzle-focused and a bit linear as you try to survive in a world filled with blood-thirsty Orcs. It is disappointing that they only really offer small glimpses of the actual gameplay, but it still looks promising. We will get to visit a time before Gollum runs into the Hobbits.

They also seem to be teasing Sauron at the end. Hopefully, they might play around with his obsession with the ring, as it torments the player during the story to add some tense moments. We don’t know if this will tie into the 2001 films or the original novels. They might also set it within an alternative timeline, like the Middle-Earth games. Either way, the trailer looks promising, and can’t wait to dive back into this fantastical world.

  • ‘Godzilla vs. Kong’: Legendary Reveals First Full Look at Mecha Godzilla

‘Godzilla vs. Kong’: Legendary Reveals First Full Look at Mecha Godzilla

There is a curious thing about leaks in the modern age. At some point, the studio gives up fighting it and accepts that it is out there. Well, HBO Max and Warner Bros. have been facing something similar with the leak of Mecha Godzilla making an appearance in the upcoming film Godzilla vs. Kong. It got briefly teased in a few frames in the first trailer, and everyone noticed it. Images of toys started leaking online. So, people were getting a good look at the design of the mechanized Titan. Instead of fighting, they just accepted that the news is out there and decided to cash in on it. So, they released a tweet that includes merchandise that showcases the man-made Titan:

It certainly matches the toy leaks that we’ve seen in the past. We still don’t know how exactly he will fit into the story. He may get created by humanity in response to Godzilla’s rampage. We know that Kong is brought to the mainland to defeat him. It may be a response for the team avoiding the activation of Mecha Godzilla. He could also end up being the reason that the once world-protecting giant ends up destroying the world. He might have a considerable role, and it will be interesting to see how they integrate this new rendition of the character. His design is sleeker than past iterations. We can expect a lot more maneuverability from this version rather than relying mainly on missiles like the classics. It’s a great design, and we cannot wait to see it in action once the film releases next week.

  • ‘Batwoman’: First Look at Peter Outerbridge as Black Mask

‘Batwoman’: First Look at Peter Outerbridge as Black Mask

Batwoman has been dropping some wild casting news lately. They recently dropped a bombshell with Krypton’s Wallis Day replacing Ruby Rose as the new Kate Kane. Many have grown quite fond of the newest Batwoman, Ryan Wilder, who is played by Javicia Leslie. She takes on the rising crime wave in Gotham City after Kane went missing following the events of the last season. Even before the series began, we have heard that the iconic Batman villain Black Mask would be making an appearance. He would take on a larger role throughout the season, but there has been radio silence since. Luckily, Deadline has revealed that Peter Outerbridge is taking on the role with our first official look at him in the iconic mask.

Outerbridge is set to play CW’s incarnation of the sadistic Roman Sionis. Sionis is described as a “pragmatic and charismatic CEO,” who plays the white night against the corruption within Gotham City. Yet, when he puts on the mask, he becomes an evil mastermind with a burning hate for the Crows and the vigilantes that prowl the streets. He will do anything to get revenge. We do not know who has brought upon his fury. So, the answer to that question will most likely come with his debut in the upcoming ninth episode.

Batwoman is currently airing its second season on the CW and stars Javicia Leslie, Meagan Tandy, Rachel Skarsten, Camrus Johnson, and Nichole Kang.
