  • Hannibal Buress Leaks His ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ Appearance

Hannibal Buress Leaks His ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ Appearance

It seems Spider-Man: No Way Home will find its way back to Midtown High. The third film in Jon Watts’ Spider-Man trilogy has been rumored to feature everything but the kitchen sink, and one could be forgiven for thinking this wouldn’t leave a lot of room for the story to explore more of Peter Parker’s roots. However, a now-deleted video posted to the Instagram account of Hannibal Buress confirms this won’t actually be the case. The short video gave fans a glimpse of Buress and modern-day superstar Zendaya in full Midtown High attire, shooting hoops in the school’s gymnasium. This is the first undeniable proof we’ve had of Midtown High’s involvement in the film and confirms the rumor we heard some time ago about Buress’s return as Coach Wilson. Luckily, @SpiderMan_MCU_ was quick to grab photos before it as deleted:

Buress, best known for his work in stand-up and The Eric Andre Show, is one of many comedians who have taken on the role of Midtown High educators in the MCU. He portrayed Coach Wilson, the school’s resident gym teacher, in 2017’s Spider-Man: Homecoming. Unfortunately for Buress, the world-traveling nature of the sequel excluded him from appearing in Far From Home alongside fellow jokesters Martin Starr and J.B. Smoove. Luckily, it looks like director Watts has found room to bring back the fan-favorite character for another go-around. The addition is a good sign for fans of the franchise who found themselves worried the large scale of No Way Home would detract from the wonderful small-scale tone established back in Homecoming. No matter how many villains, or Spider-Men, show up in the movie, at least we know we’ll see Hannibal Buress and a bunch of ugly gym shorts as well.

  • Andrew Garfield’s Stunt Double Leaked His Involvement ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’

Andrew Garfield’s Stunt Double Leaked His Involvement ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’

Spider-Man: No Way Home has been an odd project to follow. There are so many secrets surrounding the project that it is uncertain what is even true anymore. Charlie Cox will return in the role he made famous in Netflix’s Daredevil series. Even Willem Dafoe was seen on set. There was also that Paramount tweet that seemed to confirm the involvement of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield in the upcoming film. To this day, nothing has ever been confirmed beyond the film’s title. Well, it seems that some more hints have been placed on their involvement, as Twitter user @spideyupdated shared some Instagram posts by Andrew Garfield‘s stunt double William Spencer. In them, we can clearly see him with Tom Holland’s own stunt double, Greg Townley.

As you can see, he has deleted them by now, but he has been very active in sharing his enthusiasm for being on the set of the Spider-Man threequel. At this point, we are only waiting for a confirmation that past incarnations of Spider-Man will make an appearance. There have been too many hints at their involvement to some capacity. Still, the film won’t release until December. So, we might have to wait a little longer, especially if we face any potential delays. Marvel Studios and Disney still haven’t advertised Black Widow, which is supposed to hit theaters at the beginning of May. We’ll certainly be keeping an eye out if there are any more hints at their involvement in the film.

  • BTS Footage Shows Oscar Isaac Prepping for Marvel Studios ‘Moon Knight’

BTS Footage Shows Oscar Isaac Prepping for Marvel Studios ‘Moon Knight’

We’re one series and one episode into Marvel Studios streaming experiment and one thing that feels safe to say is that these series are going to box of chocolates route and that each one is going to be unique and, in some cases, surprising. While The Falcon and The Winter Soldier looks and feels very much like the MCU we know from the big screen, after watching WandaVision we know that Marvel Studios One-Above-All is willing to take some chances and wander into previously uncharted territory. None of Marvel Studios currently announced D+ series scream “uncharted territory” like Moon Knight and today, thanks to an IG post, we have what appears to be our first look at star Oscar Isaac prepping for his role as The Fist of Khonshu.

At first glance it’s easy to say that this could be Isaac training for any role or even just rolling around in the gym to stay in shape; however, the fact that it was tagged #TheOneYouSeeComing SCREAMS Moon Knight to comic readers, such as those on our Discord server who pointed it out to us. As you can see in the panel below (taken from issue 5 of Warren Ellis‘ 2014 Moon Knight run), the hashtagged saying is a direct quote from one of Marc Spector’s alters, Mr. Knight.

The quote stems from the longstanding idea that unlike most heroes (including Batman, to whom he is often compared) Spector dons a bright white costume to make sure he’s entirely visible to the criminals who try to hide in the darkness of the night. More important than the quote is the impressive nature of Isaac’s work on the mat. If this is any indication of the type of action we can expect to see when Moon Knight streams next year, we are all in for a very special treat.

  • ‘Aquaman 2’ Casting Three Supporting Roles

‘Aquaman 2’ Casting Three Supporting Roles

DC is are hard at work on the sequel to 2018’s Aquaman. The smash-hit offered a closer look at the underwater civilization of Atlantis. The ending of that film gave us a brief glimpse of the sequel’s direction, as a battle-damaged Black Manta is picked up by Stephen Shin. It looks like recent casting news by GWW might be hinting at a different direction. It seems he might be facing a much more vicious foe after all.

They are currently looking to cast the character named “Kore.” They are specific about the character having a British accent and being in the age range of 40 to 50 years-of-age. GWW believes that the character may be the Fisher King, who is the leader of N.E.M.O. and an ally of Black Jack. He is also described as “domineering and cunning” that would match this description, but we could also see the leader of the Deluge, Corum Rath, make an appearance. He is an Atlantean eco-terrorist that wants to wage war with the surface world.

The character with the codename “Maren” description hints at a mixed-race female in her 30s or 40s. She is also described as “intelligent and formidable,” which would make her a perfect fit to play Dolphin. She was involved with the fight against Corum Rath and the Deluge. She has been a fan favorite ever since. GWW believes it might end up being Black Jack, Siren, or Bres.

The third breakdown is for a character dubbed “Rey.” DC is looking for a mixed-race female in her mid-late 20s. She is “tough and authoratiative.” I think could it could be Aquagirl, either Tula or Lorena Marquez. The description would fit Tula, as she is an Atlantean military officer. However, Lorena would be a better match for the role’s description. They may combine these characters into one.

Aquaman 2 will premiere on December 16th, 2022. James Wan set to return and helm the project. Jason Momoa will reprise his role alongside Amber Heard, and Willem Dafoe will return as Mera and Vulko in the upcoming film.

  • Lil Rel Howery Reveals He Was Cast in Channing Tatum’s ‘GAMBIT’

Lil Rel Howery Reveals He Was Cast in Channing Tatum’s ‘GAMBIT’

The cast of 20th Century Fox’s Gambit spin-off has grown by one. Well, if it was still in some form of development. Actor and comedian Lil Rel Howery revealed that he was once attached to star alongside Channing Tatum. It’s still uncertain who Howery would have portrayed, but his involvement in the first new tidbit on the troubled production we’ve gotten in a long time. He revealed this information during an interview to promote his upcoming Netflix comedy, Bad Trip. He first gave the vague description before confirming it:

So there was a movie that I was attached to with Channing Tatum that we were going to do and whatever happened happened, it was in that world so…I was like ‘Damn man.’

As a reminder, Gambit was a spin-off from the original X-Men franchise that never made it to the big screen. The film got announced in 2014. The project underwent multiple re-writes and experienced many delays over numerous years. After cycling through four directors, including Rupert Wyatt and Doug Liman, the movie was officially canceled in 2019.

The only casting, aside from Tatum, was for the female lead. Actresses like Lea Seydoux and Rebecca Ferguson auditioned for the role of Belladonna Boudreaux. Howery, who has had something of a career renaissance since appearing in 2017’s Get Out, was never rumored to be part of the cast. This new revelation, straight from the lion’s mouth, almost makes you wonder what other talent may have been in line to appear in the film had it not been given the boot.

  • ‘American Horror Story’ Season 10 Theme Revealed

‘American Horror Story’ Season 10 Theme Revealed

The upcoming season of American Horror Story was probably their toughest yet as it was met with continuous delays during the pandemic. One of the toughest things AHS faced was losing its set date to begin filming as it was crucial to the upcoming theme of the season. What made this start date so crucial was how “weather dependent” this season was. This was confirmed by series creator Ryan Murphy who mentioned that he considered shelving the idea for a later season.

After waiting for months, the upcoming theme for this season was finally revealed to be “Double Feature.” For those who may not know or are still new to the series, each season takes on a different theme but still uses some of the different actors. While previous themes such as “Freak Show”, “Roanoke” and “Coven” were clear indicators of what to expect, this theme doesn’t clearly define anything. The only clue given is that it’s “One by the seas…One by the land”, possibly a dual themed season with two smaller story arcs.

    https://twitter.com/MrRPMurphy/status/1373046632065814529?s=20

Since this hit the web, Ryan Murphy has gone on to clarify that season 10 will indeed be made up of two storylines, both with a different cast. The second cast for the upcoming season has yet to be announced but Murphy says an announcement should be soon regarding that. He mentions that it will be “Two Seasons in one calendar year” but it’s unclear what the episode run of each storyline will be.

American Horror Story: Double Feature currently has no set release date. This season’s cast features some highly anticipated returns such as Evan Peters, Sarah Paulson, Lily Rabe, Billie Lourde, Finn Wittrock, Adina Porter, Angelica Ross, and newcomer Macauly Culkin.

Shane Paul McGhie, Maddie Phillips, and Aimee Carrero Join ‘The Boys’ Spinoff

The Boy’s is one of the most popular shows right now. Even when a season isn’t currently running, it’s still a hot topic online. The series has spawned an immense following and has garnered a two-season run with another on the way. Also, its wild success has warranted a spinoff, a show that’ll follow young heroes as they attend a Vought-owned university that trains the best brightest of upcoming superheroes. The series got fast-tracked by Amazon. It already cast Jaz Sinclair and Lizzie Broadway in leading roles.

The series is moving forward quite quickly as it has recently added three more to its ever-expanding cast. The recent casting additions include Shane Paul Mcghie, Maddie Phillips, and Aimee Carrero. The series doesn’t include which characters the three will take on, but previous castings did disclose who the previous two actresses would be playing. Mcghie could be playing Andre. Phillips could very well be Britney, but Carrero doesn’t seem to fit any of the roles previously rumored for the series.

The Boy’s spinoff currently has not set a release date. We are also still waiting for an official title, which may confirm if the series is an adaptation of the G-Men, who is an X-Men spoof in the original comic run. they were a group of the upcoming third season of The Boy’s is currently in production and will see the return of everyone’s favorite superhero-hating renegades, as well as the supes, make the whole thing possible.

We will see more information on future updates in these streams, which is a great revelation. They want to offer more insight moving forward and determine the game’s future development. So, without further ado, let’s get into the long list of updates heading our way.

    • They confirm that a lot more in development, which didn’t get included in the roadmap for now.

    • The core of their goal is to offer more “meaningful customization” on different levels. It will affect your gameplay and how you build your characters.
    • Once you find the gear you like, you will be able to hold on to it much longer. CD wants to integrate a way to add new options or even adapt existing ones.
    • It will all connect to the 50-Level Cap. Their goal is to allow the customization options to come to fruition once you go beyond the limitation.
    • They also confirmed that collecting comics will have an impact on this new system. So, be sure to continue collecting them moving forward.

    • The Red Room-inspired HARM challenges are an additional part. These will be the escape challenges and will even affect the Main Screen. So, expect some new visual flourishes.
    • They once again confirmed we’ll get the first Marvel Cinematic Universe with this event. They also confirmed that the word “inspired” shouldn’t be taken too literally. They are adapting the iconic outfits.
    • If Black Widow gets postponed, it will not directly affect their release plans.

    Cosmic Cube

    • It takes place directly after Future Imperfect. It builds on the storyline that got introduced at the end of that mission.

    • CD has teased that there will be some curious secrets to uncover in this new mission style.
    • Once again, if this is popular, they will expand upon it and add it to other regions moving forward.

Black Panther is coming to 'Marvel's Avengers' later this year | Engadget

    Black Panther Expansion

    • It will be their largest content drop since the launch.
    • Klaw will be closer to his comic form. So, don’t expect him to be like Andy Serkis‘ interpretation. He is one of the multiple villains that’ll get included in the update.
    • There will be new enemy types that are part of Klaw’s faction.
    • Voice actors will get announced in the future once we are near the release.
    • The new Biome is called the Wakandan Jungle, but you can expect a lot more diversity with it. They teased some cool interiors.
    • They also aim to continue to raise the stakes of the challenges. It will release the most challenging content they have ever developed.

It certainly sounds like it’ll be a big year moving forward. Even if Black Panther is still some time down the line, it seems that we won’t be waiting without anything new moving forward.

  • Josh Stamberg Teases a Future for ‘WandaVision’s Tyler Hayward

Josh Stamberg Teases a Future for ‘WandaVision’s Tyler Hayward

Falcon and the Winter Soldier has just released its premiere episode and we are still finding out new things about its predecessor, WandaVision. The show kicked off Marvel Studios’ new direction into long-form storytelling and introduced the world to new and familiar faces from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The newest member of the ever-expanding franchise was Josh Stamberg‘s Tyler Hayward. He wasn’t the most liked character throughout the nine-episode run, especially when he started getting weirdly obsessed with killing Wanda. It seems that was part of the plan, as revealed by an actor in an interview with Entertainment Tonight.

What can we do to keep him from just being mustache twirly? And I liked that, at least for an episode and a half, there got to be some quote-unquote charm or some likability before it sort of descends into this guy who’s so hungry to run the universe.

It’s kind of interesting how he phrases that sentence, but the actor goes on to reveal he would be “a little surprised” if he doesn’t end up returning in a later entry. His story did feel rather open-ended, as we never found out his full motivation. He just seemed to have an obsession with superheroes. In a way, his intentions were good, as Wanda did go too far by controlling an entire town against their will. He got arrested at the end of the season and it feels like they might still have some plans with the character. Hopefully, a future show or even season could offer some much-needed character development that offers an insight into why he was so obsessed at the time. It would be interesting if the “run the universe” line is even a hint at him possibly having a connection to the upcoming Secret Invasions show.

  • ‘The Falcon and The Winter Soldier’ Rolling Credits Tease 2 Major Character Appearances

‘The Falcon and The Winter Soldier’ Rolling Credits Tease 2 Major Character Appearances

Marvel Studios The Falcon and The Winter Soldier has finally premiered and while the episode itself introduced some pretty great new characters to the MCU. Danny Ramirez’s Joaquin Torres seems set to be Sam’s man-in-the-chair throughout the series and we met the group that appears to be the series’ main antagonists, the Flag-Smashers, comprised of Erin Kellyman’s Karli Morgenthau, Desmond Chiam’s Dovich, Indya Bussey’s Dee Dee and Dani Deette’s Gigi. We also got a couple of cameos from returning characters with Batroc and Rhodey showing up to remind us just how vast this connected universe has become over the last 13 years. And on any other day, message boards and social media would be abuzz with theories about how any or all of those characters are going to play into the series; however, in this case, it’s a couple of characters referenced in the episode’s end credits (not even in the typical Marvel Studios mid-credits/post-credits reveals!) that deserve the attention.

Obviously, there are spoilers below so if you haven’t see the episode yet, please proceed at your own risk.

New Falcon And Winter Soldier Rumors Make Me Hopeful Captain America Is Coming To Season 2 - CINEMABLEND

During the end credits to episode one, we are treated to references to 2 characters who will certainly have a MAJOR impact on the series: Isaiah Bradley and the mysterious Power Broker. First at 43:31, we see a shot of actor Carl Lumbly as part of a case file brought up from a search log. That shot proceeds a frame at 43:54 that includes the words “POWERBROKER WATCHING” alongside a couple of vials of what is most definitely Super Soldier serum (if the blue color didn’t give it away, you can put it together with the fact that Chiam’s Dovich is clearly juiced up). While it’s surprising that Marvel Studios reveals these characters, who do not appear within the run time of the episode, it’s also an incredibly tantalizing tease of what’s to come.

Late last January, we collected some evidence that suggested that we might just see Isaiah Bradley in this series. Our suspicions were furthered when Lumbly was announced as part of the cast just about one month later. Even at 69 years old, Lumbly is still a physically imposing man who fits the bill as Bradley. Given how the series will explore what it would mean for a Black man to take on the mantle of Captain America in modern times, it always made a ton of sense for Marvel Studios to find a way to work Bradley, a Black man who took on the mantle in the past, to meet up with Sam while he struggles to make the choice. The search log for Lumbly’s character names him “subject #02656” and mentions experimentation. Given everything we know about the series, this is the last bit of evidence we need to know that Bradley will appear in the series. And as we mentioned here, Isaiah Bradley showing up in the series opens the door for his grandson, Eli Bradley, a member of the Young Avengers, to enter the MCU as well. Just a couple of months ago we connected some more imaginary dots that lead us to believe actor Elijah Richardson had been cast as Eli Bradley, and right now the evidence is definitely all pointing to that coming to fruition as well.

The inclusion of the Power Broker (and the tease that this character is the one who is juicing up the Flag-Smashers) is equally exciting. Back in August, we explored how the Power Broker would fit really well into The Falcon and The Winter Soldier given both the themes surrounding Steve’s legacy, the Super Soldier serum and the fact that the mid-1980’s Captain America run by Marvel Comics legend Mark Gruenwald was a major source of inspiration for the show and that many of the characters from that run, including John Walker, were making their MCU debuts here. This end credits tease confirms the impending arrival of the Power Broker in the series while still shrouding the identity of the character in mystery (I will tell you that the correct identity of the Power Broker is in the article linked above, however).

For a studio that prides itself on its ability to keep secrets, Marvel Studios has let the proverbial cats out of their bags here with these two teases. Of course there’s still the beauty of watching it play out and the mystery around who the Power Broker is and why he or she is doing what he or she is doing for us all to enjoy and watch unfold over the next 5 episodes.
