‘Thor Love and Thunder’s Natalie Portman Wants to Team Up With Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel

In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, crossovers are one of the fun aspects that such an interconnected universe offers. Newly introduced characters will get a chance to meet others which leads to interactions you wouldn’t expect. Luckily, it seems that Natalie Portman, who is returning as Jane Foster in Thor: Love and Thunder, is game to meet other members of the MCU. In an interview with Variety during the red carpet event, she revealed that she would love to team up with Brie Larson‘s Captain Marvel.

I love Captain Marvel. Brie is a dear friend so that would be a fun one.

    Natalie Portman

The two powerhouses would definitely make for a strong duo, especially with Valkyrie joining the fray. So, we’ll see what the future has in store, especially if there are any other crossovers planned. There’s still no official announcement for an Avengers film, which may still be on the horizon and could open up many opportunities for the MCU to grow in unexpected ways. Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has teased that they may make some announcements in the coming months. Perhaps, we’ll find out more about what the future has in store. So, even if we don’t know when we can expect a Mighty Thor and Captain Marvel team up, it does seem like at least Natalie Portman is down for one.

  • New ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ Concept Art May Tease a Namor Connection

New ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ Concept Art May Tease a Namor Connection

When a man is making his way through the galaxy killing gods, you’re sure to see them gather to figure out what to do with this imminent threat. An official screenshot once teased what could be our first look at a humanoid Bast making her live-action debut outside of the flashback storyline from Black Panther. Yet, a new piece of concept art on the wall behind a costume showcase for Thor: Love and Thunder may have teased some other familiar and new faces.

The brief video shared by Walt Disney’s Marketing President, Asad Ayaz, not only showcases the costumes of the upcoming Asgardians but also includes an interesting concept art in the background. If you look closely, it does seem to tease a variety of Gods meeting gup with a few sticking out. There’s a Moon Knight reference, as you can clearly see Khonshu’s iconic staff and what looks like his traditional comic design. That is not all, as there are also dragons like the one we saw in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, as well as what may be a Celestial from Eternals briefly checking in. Yet there is one that may stand out even among the big hitters here at the display.

There’s a god that is being showcased on some kind of podium, who has blue skin and a very interesting headdress or crown. Now, it’s only a guess but the blue skin is quite reminiscing of many Atlantians in the comic, such as Attuma. We‘ve heard he’ll be in the upcoming Black Panther: Wakanda Forever film and there was a crew hat that teased the Aztec Jaguar God, Tepeyollotl. So, if Bast has a humanoid design in this meeting, it wouldn’t be too surprising if the same is true for Tepeyollotl. Perhaps this concept art is our first look at him and he’ll appear in the upcoming film as a way to tease Namor and the Atlantean’

    s arrival later this year.

  • Marvel Studios President Teases Talks on “Many Other Thor Stories” for the MCU

Marvel Studios President Teases Talks on “Many Other Thor Stories” for the MCU

Chris Hemsworth has been a bit back and forth on if he’ll return as Thor in the MCU’s future. Of course, there are still quite a few iconic storylines from the comics that have not been explored yet. It looks like Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige agrees, as he’s teased that there are already talks about “many, many other Thor stories” that they are excited to adapt. While he doesn’t go into any detail, he does tease that the studio is quite excited to see Hemsworth continue to grow the character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

I know this: there are many, many other Thor stories in the comics that we talk about a lot. And as we watch Chris Hemsworth continue to grow and evolve as a major acting talent, I would be excited to see how he keeps evolving this complex character.

    Kevin Feige

There are quite a few stories to adapt, such as the recent storyline where Thor became the herald of Galactus and took on the Black Winter. After a more comedic outing, it would be interesting to take the character in a completely new direction and potentially jump into his more serious storylines. It would give the character a chance to evolve and also add something unique that keeps Hemsworth interested in reprising the role, as he does highlight that he isn#t interested if it becomes too “familiar” after a while.

  • Chris Hemsworth Open to Return as Thor after ‘Love and Thunder’ After All

Chris Hemsworth Open to Return as Thor after ‘Love and Thunder’ After All

Chris Hemsworth has recently made a statement that had many surprised, as he hinted that Thor: Love and Thunder may be his last outing as Thor. With Natalie Portman‘s Mighty Thor arriving, many assumed that might be the reason and would take over. Yet, in a new interview with Entertainment Tonight, he reveals that he is actually open to returning if the right story comes around.

Each time I’ve done it, I’ve sort of thought: “I don’t know what else I can say as this character but thanks for having me, great.” then something else came up, a new script, new director, and has given me a new idea or perspective on it. I am open to anything. I am so thankful for having done so many. I am so proud of this film and if I am lucky enough to do more, great, if not, it’s fantastic.

    Chris Hemsworth

There are definitely quite a few stories to explore with the character, especially given the iconic Fear Itself story is still open to being adapted. It would’ve been a shame to not give Theor the send-off he deserves if Chris Hemsworth genuinely is leaving the franchise behind.

Yet, it may simply depend on if someone offers the right script and Marvel Studios is in, he’ll jump on board. So, we shouldn’t expect that we’re seeing the last of Hemsworth moving forward after all. Here’s hoping that either Taika Waititi has an idea to continue to story or maybe a new director can take the character into a new direction.

  • ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ Almost Featured Christian Bale’s Gorr in a Kate Bush Dance Sequence

‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ Almost Featured Christian Bale’s Gorr in a Kate Bush Dance Sequence

Kate Bush has gone viral since the iconic episode released from Stranger Things. Yet, it looks like another popular property almost featured the singer, as it turns out that Thor: Love and Thunder almost featured a dance sequence with music from Bush. Yet, what stands out is that the sequence was actually going to feature Gorr the God Butcher, who is played by Christian Bale.

Bale revealed the sequence that sadly didn’t end up getting made, as director Taika Waititi feared the sequence wouldn’t make it into the final cut. Of course, they may have snuck in some kind of sequence that is an evolution from this original idea, as he teases something inspired by Aphex Twin’s video “Come to Daddy.”

Taika and I wanted to do a whole dance, which we didn’t get to do, but we had all this sort of Kate Bush stuff that we worked at. But I think he just realised he was never going to be allowed to put that in the final film. I would say that the most common thing I was staring at was the Aphex Twin video of ‘Come To Daddy’. But I don’t even know if that will be in the final film.

    Christian Bale

Gorr has been teased as one of their best villains, and test screenings hint at him having the biggest acceptance score out of all MCU villains. Christian Bale is a fantastic actor, and he does hint in the interview that he has no idea that he was part of a bigger franchise. That isn’t too uncommon, not that actors only do it “for a paycheck” as some on the internet proclaim, but generally as they are interested in the role offered.

  • ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’s Final Runtime is Shorter Than ‘Thor: Ragnarok’

‘Thor: Love and Thunder’s Final Runtime is Shorter Than ‘Thor: Ragnarok’

It looks like we may finally have our last reported runtime for the upcoming Thor: Love and Thunder film. There’s been a lot of speculation on where the film would end, as some reports from official theater chains hinted at it being one of the longest and even among the shortest Marvel Cinematic Universe entries. Yet, it seems that the latest update has finally given us what may be the full runtime for the fourth Thor film, which is going to scratch the two-hour surface.

It seems that Thor: Love and Thunder will run around 1 hour and around 59 minutes. That runtime is quite the departure from the first AMC showcase that had the film at 150 minutes, which would be around two hours and 30 minutes. Yet, it would later be revised to what is now the finalized runtime of 1 hour and 59 minutes shortly after. Given the sudden shift, it was uncertain if that would remain but it looks like the film is among the franchise’s shorter films.

Thor: Love and Thunder is now shorter than the first Iron Man, which was just eight minutes above the two-hour mark. Also, we have to keep in mind that this runtime also includes the credits, as pointed out by Big Screen Leaks on Twitter. With 119 minutes, the film is only four minutes longer than the first Thor film, and Thor: The Dark World‘s 112 minutes. So, it technically is still quite in line with other entries of the franchise. It’ll be interesting to see how Taika Waititi keeps all his ideas within that runtime.

  • Latest ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ Image Offers a Closer Look at Mantis’ New Design

Latest ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ Image Offers a Closer Look at Mantis’ New Design

We’ve known for a while that Thor: Love and Thunder would continue where Avengers: Endgame left us off. Thor is out of shape and joining the Guardians of the Galaxy on whatever mission they find themselves. It’s still unclear what exactly their role might be in the sequel, but the first trailers have teased that they’ll be struggling a bit with their Asgardian member doing his own thing.

We got a good look at the cast in the last trailer and the Guardians had a prominent part. Now, a few new images have found their way online that tease Thor and Jane Foster’s new look. Yet, we also got a new and closer look at Mantis’ design, which is once again played by Pom Klementieff. We don’t know how much she’ll be featured and if she’ll have the same costume in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, but it looks like most of her design has remained intact from previous entries.

It’s definitely not as green as previous films were, but it does seem like the lighting of this scene is hinting that her hair has gotten a bit more green. Star-Lord is also featured with his new beard, which seems a bit Thor-inspired. He’s wearing a much bigger version of his iconic jacket, but we know he’ll wear some more comic-accurate costumes in the upcoming sequel as revealed from a few set photos. So, who knows for how long we’ll still see Chris Pratt in a variation of his iconic red jacket moving forward.

  • ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ BTS Image Offers a Glimpse at Christian Bale’s Transformation into Gorr the God Butcher

‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ BTS Image Offers a Glimpse at Christian Bale’s Transformation into Gorr the God Butcher

Thor: Love and Thunder is only a few more weeks away and we’re anxiously awaiting the journey that Christian Bale is going to take us on with his take on Gorr the God Butcher. While we had to wait a bit for the first official reveal, the second trailer for Love and Thunder offered a look at a very different interpretation of the character. We’ve known very little about how his transformation came to be, but a new behind-the-scenes image shared offered some insight into how they brought him to life.

While we don’t get a good look at his full make-up, it does reveal that Christian Bale has originally shaven his entire head to play the role of Gorr. Yet, very likely due to contractual reasons with another project, he wasn’t able to during reshoots and so they had to tackle a different way of making his bald head come to life. Bart Mixon shared a look at how they created a bald cap to make it seem like he had no hair at all.

Bale is the kind of actor that would go the extra mile to bring his character to life, but it’s interesting how they manage to still create a realistic-looking bald head. Karen Gillan talked bout how they were able to use a bald cap for her role as Nebula to avoid her constantly having to shave her head, even if she did it for her initial casting to prove how ready she was to take on the role.

  • ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ May Be Chris Hemsworth’s Last MCU Film

‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ May Be Chris Hemsworth’s Last MCU Film

There have been many theories on when an actor may pull the plug on their time with the Marvel Cinematic Universe. There’s never been a definite with many, as some moved away from taking on leading roles to appear in minor roles moving forward. We’ve had some famous exists after Avengers: Endgame, but now it looks like Chris Hemsworth may have found his end with the upcoming Thor: Love and Thunder.

In an interview with Wired, he answered a few of the most searched questions. When it came to the last film he shot in the MCU, he also highlighted that the fourth Thor film may be his last.

The last one I just shot was ‘Thor: Love and Thunder. And it may be my last, I don’t know.

    Chris Hemsworth

The actor has been playing the role since the 2011 film that was among the many that kicked off the Marvel Cinematic Universe. So, while sad it wouldn’t be surprising that his run might be nearing its end soon. He has spent a lot of time with the character and the upcoming film will further tell the stories of Natalie Portman‘s Jane Foster and Tessa Thompson‘s Valkyrie.

So, the Asgardians aren’t truly leaving the world of the MCU behind but the God of Thunder may be slowly trying to find his way out, even if it would be nice to have his iconic Fear Itself storyline be the way he’s given a true farewell. With Taika Waititi‘s more comedic run, one last more serious turn to fully explore the potential of Thor may be the perfect way to end his story on a high note.

  • ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’s Gorr the God Butcher is One of the MCU’s “Most Sympathetic Villains”

‘Thor: Love and Thunder’s Gorr the God Butcher is One of the MCU’s “Most Sympathetic Villains”

We’ve long been awaiting the arrival of Christian Bale‘s Gorr the God Butcher in Thor: Love and Thunder. The marketing has been holding back quite a bit with our first look of the villain only arriving in the second trailer. While his look is quite a departure from the comics, it does seem like Taika Waititi has put in a lot of love for the character. Not only did the villain seemingly “tested the highest” of any Marvel villains, which also includes some heavy-hitters like Thanos, but he describes Bale’s characters as one of “the most sympathetic villains they’ve had” so far as part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The director also highlighted that their work on Thor: Ragnarok seemingly has sparked the interest for Bale to venture into a comic book adaptation once more. It seems to have fun like they did bring the film to life was a big reason he wanted to give it a go, and Waititi‘s comedy definitely seems like it had a guiding hand for the actor’s venture into the MCU.

What we did with Ragnarok made these movies appealing to other actors as well. Christian saw that and was like “I want to do something fun” and wanted to be part of this thing.

    Taika Waititi

Not only giving the actor something fun to do but also offering the audience a sympathetic villain is definitely something that’ll still manage to leave a chill down their spine. We’ll see how the MCU continues to evolve and offer a fun playground for any actor interested in giving it a shot.
