  • New ‘Secret Invasion’ Set Photo Reveals An Avenging Presence in the Streaming Series

New ‘Secret Invasion’ Set Photo Reveals An Avenging Presence in the Streaming Series

The Marvel Studios streaming series Secret Invasion continues production overseas ahead of what’s becoming an increasingly likely 2023 debut on Disney Plus and, to date, details about the series have remained…a secret.

Samuel L. Jackson and Ben Mendelsohn are heading up the series and are joined by Emilia Clarke, Olivia Colman, Kingsley Ben-Adir. Set photos and videos haven’t revealed much in the way of the series’ plot or who is playing whom, but a new set photo does reveal that at least one Avenger will be making an appearance in the streamer.

It looks as though Don Cheadle’s James Rhodes will be making an appearance in Secret Invasion. As revealed in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, Rhodes is still an active member of the Air Force as of 2024. The set photo, which comes from IG user The_Insta_Phils, shows Rhodes on an in-universe newspaper with, presumably, American President Ritson. The newspaper also hints at some political tensions that’ll come into play in the series, as President Ritson is headed to the UK for “an emergency summit amid unprecedented tensions.” What info has leaked out about the series describes it as involving “political paranoia” involving spies, like Clarke’s yet-to-be-revealed character. Given the involvement of Skrulls, like Ben-Adir’s character, it’s no surprise that they’ll have found a way to pit the governments of the world against one another.

What role, if any, Cheadle’s Rhodey will have in the series is completely unknown. It’s possible the photo in the newspaper is the character’s only appearance and we wont’ see Rhodes at all. Of course, it’s also possible that Rhodes isn’t Rhodes at all and a Skrull-simmed Rhodes could be sewing all kinds of discord using his political pull. That, after all, is what Secret Invasion is all about. Who do you trust?

  • Latest ‘One Piece’ Set Video Reveals Shank’s Ship

Latest ‘One Piece’ Set Video Reveals Shank’s Ship

We just recently shared a first look at the One PIece’s Marines as set photos have found their way online. Yet, it seems that wasn’t it, as @DesneCitrus has also shared a rather curious video that hints at another ship that is currently under construction. What stands out is that the red coloring and the size of the head – even if incomplete – would hint at Shank’s famous Red Force.

The give-aways that this is his Red Force are mainly the size of the head, which was strongly inspired by Norse ships from the Vikings in the manga, as well as the general red coloring of the rest of the ship. It’s not a confirmation in case we get a full look at the figurehead, but it’s an easy guess given what we know from the manga and anime.

A full look at the ship was shared by @OP_Netflix_Fan, which shows that the ship is right next to the Golden Merry, which we have seen quite a bit of in the past.

The designs are a bit more muted, but there’s a chance they might add some designs in post-production. Shank’s ship is missing the ornaments on the side as well as the golden circle on the front, but they are also still working on it. So, it may get added on later, as the Going Merry went through a few changes since the first time it was spotted.

  • Leaked ‘One Piece’ Set Photos Offer First Look at the Marines

Leaked ‘One Piece’ Set Photos Offer First Look at the Marines

So far, we know very little about the upcoming live-action adaptation of One Piece that is in the works for Netflix. We did get a few set photos but they mainly focused on the massive ships that are being built for the series. Luckily, it seems that even more photos from the set have leaked which offer our first look at the designs for the Marines.

@DesnesCitrus took to Twitter to share the first look with a closer zoom in to the patches that confirm the iconic symbol from the manga will also be used in the live-action project. They even have the “Marine” bade on their hat and it does seem like the design is quite close to that from the manga. You can check them out here:

@OP_Netflix_Fan has also shared a set photo featuring the Marines’ in their costume gathered for some kind of assembly.

The scene could either take place at the Marines’ headquarters with Garp rumored to have a larger role in the East Blue saga. Yet, there’s also the sequence where Luffy and Zoro say farewell to Coby, where the MArines gathered for a final salute. We still know very little bout what to expect from the project, or how they’ll structure it but it’s great to see these iconic designs brought to life.

  • Latest ‘Secret Invasion’ Set Photo Includes ‘Hawkeye’ Connection

Latest ‘Secret Invasion’ Set Photo Includes ‘Hawkeye’ Connection

We’ve known for some time that Secret Invasion has been busy filming in the United Kingdom. Just recently, set photos have found their way from Halifax, where a secretive shooting location was leaked online through some behind-the-scenes photos. We’ve had a few set photos find their way online for some time now, but a brand new one includes a curious Hawkeye connection.

Twitter user @Roxmanoff shared a new photo from the production that includes a reference to the Rogers musical that highlights “Coming to the West End.” That is a reference to the famous London theater location, which is a new hint at another location that is part of the series globetrotting Skrull hunt. You can check it here:

At this point, the Rogers musical has appeared in Spider-Man: No Way Home and two Disney+ series. It’s a fun connection across the universe and hopefully, they might also add more elements like these that create more visual connections, especially as the franchise starts expanding into multiple storylines that may or may not interconnect moving forward.

  • New ‘Moon Knight’ Merch Offers a New Look at Mr. Knight

New ‘Moon Knight’ Merch Offers a New Look at Mr. Knight

Not too long ago, we got the official confirmation that the upcoming Disney+ series Moon Knight would feature the alter-ego known as Mr. Knight. It offered a good look at the live-action design but mostly focused on his upper torso. Now, some more merchandise has found its way online featuring a closer look at the character’s look, such as revealing he is seemingly wearing white sneakers. @FISTOFKHONSHU has provided the merchandise designs, which you can check out below:

    https://twitter.com/FlSTOFKHONSHU/status/1497983949414580229

The design still looks great, and the Egyptian-inspired artwork that takes inspiration from hieroglyphs and classic character depictions from that era just have a nice touch. The merch does highlight Mr. Knight as a separate form of the Moon Knight specter. It’ll be interesting to see how the series dives into their differences.

We still have a month to go until the series finally releases, but it still seems like one of the most promising projects by Marvel Studios. The darker tone will also be a strong push forward for the franchise, as it tries to expand its offerings and viewership beyond Disney+’s restrictions on family-friendly entertainment. For now, we have some great merchandise to tease what the upcoming series has in store for us and we won’t be running out of great designs anytime soon.

  • New Private ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’ Twitter Account May Hint at Potential Trailer Release

New Private ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’ Twitter Account May Hint at Potential Trailer Release

Lucasfilm has been quite sparing with how much information they provide on their future Star Wars projects. It took what felt like an eternity before we found out when the Obi-Wan Kenobi series will finally find its way to Disney+. While it won’t release until late May, some eagle-eyed users have noticed that new Obi-Wan Kenobi Twitter and Instagram accounts have been created and are currently set to private.

As the accounts are currently locked, there’s no insight into what exactly they might be building up to, but it would imply that they’ll potentially share something on the project if they’ve already created the accounts. As Disney+ trailers tend to drop around three months ahead of the premiere and we already got the poster, there’s a good possibility.

The fact that the accounts exist is certainly a hint that Lucasfilm’s marketing department is getting ready to prepare some kind of advertising push. It’s still speculation for now, but here’s hoping after they teased us with that poster and release date dropped some time ago.

  • New Disney+ Listing Hints Netflix’s Marvel Shows May Not Release Worldwide Simultaneously

New Disney+ Listing Hints Netflix’s Marvel Shows May Not Release Worldwide Simultaneously

There’s been a lot of debate about when and where we might see the Marvel Netflix shows finally appear on Disney+. Suddenly, Canadian subscribers were sharing a newsletter that revealed that Daredevil, Luke Cage, and more were heading to the streaming service. There was no mention of the Star branding, which gave hope that it may also appear on the US subscription model with some rumors even adding fuel to the fire. Yet, the official listing from Disney+ Spain may have put a wrench in those hopes.

The listing, as shared by The Direct, includes all the series and films that are heading to the streaming service in March. As you can see clearly, Turning Red and Moon Knight are listed with their respective international release dates. Yet, the Marvel Netflix shows are nowhere to be found, which may hint that this isn’t a straightforward international release.

    Disney+ Spain

It’s kind of a surprise that it wouldn’t get an international release, especially if you consider that the series is leaving Netflix worldwide around the same time. There’s still no official word from Disney+, which may signal they can’t really talk about it until it has left Netflix. Either that or they are still figuring out distribution plans and timing windows for the various series. We’ll have to wait and see until an official word drops just what the future has in store after all.

  • REPORT: Marvel Studios’ Rumored ‘Werewolf by Night’ Special Now Eyeing March Production Start

REPORT: Marvel Studios’ Rumored ‘Werewolf by Night’ Special Now Eyeing March Production Start

We’ve been waiting for some tie on an update for the Disney+ Halloween special that is currently in development from Marvel Studios. It’s been long rumored that the project is an adaptation of Werewolf by Night, but that has yet to be confirmed. Last month, we’ve learned that Laura Donnely has joined the project alongside Gael Garcia Bernal, who will play Jack Russell in the story. One Take News has offered a small update on the project’s production.

It seems it was originally going to start in February, but production was pushed back to mid-March. It’s unclear what may have led to the later start, but it seems they are soon to finish the casting process on the special. The interesting tidbit is that the production will only run for around two to three weeks. So, we shouldn’t expect a full-on film production for this project.

Composer Michael Giacchino is currently attached to direct the project, and if they start production soon, we might get some kind of announcement by Marvel Studios sooner rather than later. If they are filming this early, they might be planning in quite a bit of effect work to prepare it for a Halloween release later this year. Perhaps we’ll get a tease on the project during the upcoming Moon Knight series, which will also jump straight into the supernatural corners of the MCU. We’ll see if there are also other specials heading our way in the near future if this one turns out popular.

  • EXCLUSIVE: ‘Doom Patrol’ Season 4 to Introduce Casey Brinke

EXCLUSIVE: ‘Doom Patrol’ Season 4 to Introduce Casey Brinke

Doom Patrol might be one if not the strangest DC series that is streaming on HBO Max. The series follows an unlikely team of emotionally damaged individuals with fantastical abilities. After facing their own trauma and self-worth, we spend time with them facing off against a reality-shattering Mr. Nobody, travel through time, and turn into zombies only to kill a bunch of Were-butts. Yeah, that last sentence is real and it’s still weird to explain, but it’s part of Doom Patrol‘s charm. The series got a renewal for a fourth season during DC FanDome and we can exclusively share that one iconic comic character from the comics is finally joining.

Doom Patrol #6 Review – Comic Book Corps

Season 4 will introduce the character of Casey Brinke. The heroine known as Space Case had to face off against her father, who turned into the villain Torminox due to a virus. Her mother was the one to take him out by sacrificing herself leaving her daughter behind. It’s a tragic backstory for the young heroine and happens to be fictional. You see, Danny the Street, who has appeared throughout the series, actually created the comic book she lived in and gained the ability to bring her into reality. As such, she had to come to grips with her life being fiction.

The crew behind the project are actively casting a female actress between the age of 20 and 30. They are sticking to her origins as a fictional comic book character, but she will be Dorothy’s favorite superhero. The upcoming season will see her face off against her father Torminox, who may have a bigger role in the story, as she comes to the rescue when he is attacking Dorothy. Her time in the real world will also force her to grow out of making corny catchphrases and hero poses to understand what it means to feel pain and loss.

Doom Patrol's WILDEST Character Is NOT on the HBO Max Show | CBR

The character will be added as a major recurring guest star in Doom Patrol’s fourth season, which just recently started production. She will make a great addition to the team, especially if they are building to her arc from the comics. The last tie we saw the Doom Patrol, they were embracing their heroic side with Cliff Steele stuck in the body of a giant robot. Dorothy has left the team to join the Dead Boy Detectives. As she has the ability to bring her imaginary friends to life, she may be the one to bring Casey into reality this time around. Her addition will be an exciting prospect for comic fans, and another character questioning their own existence fits perfectly into the team.

  • Quentin Tarantino in Talks to Direct Episodes of ‘Justified: City Primeval’

Quentin Tarantino in Talks to Direct Episodes of ‘Justified: City Primeval’

Legendary director Quentin Tarantino is reportedly in early talks to direct episodes of Justified: City Primeval.

The news comes courtesy of Deadline, with the outlet stating Tarantino is in talks to direct one or two episodes of the FX series. City Primeval sees Timothy Olyphant return as U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens. It’s a surprising move, as it was thought Tarantino would direct one more final feature film, rather than head to the small screen. However, Tarantino has worked with Olyphant in the past on Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, and he has a love of Elmore Leonard’s work.

In fact, along with directing Jackie Brown, based on Leonard’s Rum Punch, Tarantino has previously hinted at wanting to adapt Forty Lashes Less One. While Tarantino has yet to bring Forty Lashes to the big screen, should he end up directing episodes of City Primeval, it’ll bring him back to Leonard’s works as the series is based on his title City Primeval: High Noon.

FX ended Justified seven years ago after a six-year run. During its run, the series earned an impressive eight Emmy nominations, winning two. The new series will take place eight years after he left Kentucky, eventually making his way to Miami where he finds himself balancing life as a marshal and part-time father of a 14-year-old girl.

As it stands, Justified: City Primeval does not have a release date.
