RUMOR: Odessa A’zion Set to Lead Upcoming ‘Hellraiser’ Reboot

Rebooting old films is all the rage, especially when a studio bank on the nostalgia of it all. This trend has been common in Hollywood for some time, and in recent events seen done with Horror films, and done quite well at that. In the past few years, we’ve seen the return of many iconic horror franchises including It, Halloween, and Scream. Now it seems Hollywood is ready to raise yet another popular franchise from the dead, reinventing it for modern audiences with an all-new take on a classic character.

We’ve known for a bit now that Hulu was in development on a reboot of the popular horror franchise and that they were looking to genderswap the iconic role of Pinhead. In a new report from the Illuminerdi, actress Odessa A’zion is set to play the lead character of “Riley” in the upcoming film. She is best known for her work in WayneFam, and Grand Army.

The Hellraiser reboot is one of two projects in development based on author Clive Barker’s book The HellBound Heart. The film reboot is set to release on Hulu while a separate series is in development at HBO Max with direct involvement from Barker, who will serve as executive producer on the series. Plot details for both projects remain under wraps as development continues. The film will be directed by David Bruckner with Luke Piotrowski and Ben Collins writing the screenplay.

‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ Merchandise Offers First Look at Jane Foster’s Mighty Thor

The God of Thunder is set to make yet another solo appearance in 2022’s Thor: Love and Thunder, a film with a huge cast that includes old and new faces for the franchise. A few years back at SDCC, when Marvel began to unveil their upcoming slate for Phase Four, it was announced that director Taika Waititi would be returning for another romp with the Asgardian hero. It was also announced that Jane Foster herself, Natalie Portman, would be returning and co-starring with Hemsworth once again, but would be sporting an all-new look, this time wielding Mjolnir and become Mighty Thor.Following the recent leaks surrounding Love and Thunder merch, this one gives us a much better idea of what some of our favorite characters will be rocking in the upcoming film. The most interesting part of this merchandise is of course our very first look at Jane Foster in her full Thor garb, somehow wielding the hammer after we witnessed its demise at the hands of Hela. We also get a glimpse of what appear to be new gear for both Thor and Valkyrie. The biggest question here, and the one we’ve had since its announcement, is just how Foster has the hammer after we watched it burst into pieces. It feels like the multiverse could have something to do with it, with the hammer or Foster or both arriving from anither Earth. All questions will be answered. Thor: Love and Thunder is set to release in theaters on May 11th, 2022.SOURCE: Instagram

  • RUMOR: Grant Gustin to Cameo in ‘The Flash’

RUMOR: Grant Gustin to Cameo in ‘The Flash’

The multiverse is a vast and ever-expanding concept that allows creators limitless potential when it comes to developing a story. With an infinite amount of chances, you are not bound by the predetermined choices made by another creator and forge your own path forward as you see fit. With this concept, creators are able to write stories for everyone and allow people who may not have been interested before a new gateway into this universe via a new and fresh take on a popular character. Exploring this concept in film is a whole new ballpark when pre-existing characters can be brought together for a really interesting experience.

A new report from the Illuminerdi states that Grant Gustin is set to make a cameo appearance in the upcoming film, The Flash. For those who’ve been living under a rock for quite some time, Grant Gustin has played Barry Allen since a brief appearance on Arrow that served as a backdoor pilot for his owns series. This wouldn’t be the first time the two flashes had met, previously colliding during the Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover event on the CW in which the two met for a brief period in which the two shared a brief, befuddled conversation as to how they met.

While it’s currently unknown just how long we’ll see Gustin in the film it opens the door for plenty of other cameos from that earth. The two meeting again, possibly with more time to spare, would allow Miller’s Barry to become more aware of what he’s become a part of. When we first met him, he wasn’t even the Flash and didn’t have an inkling of a clue what the Speedforce was. While it could just be a brief appearance, it’ll surely excite many fans of the series and peak the interest of many.

  • REPORT: First Details on Gamora’s ‘What If?’ Episode

REPORT: First Details on Gamora’s ‘What If?’ Episode

Marvel Studios’ newest endeavor into storytelling will open the door to countless possibilities and answer the long-awaited question, What if?.  We know little about what the episodes of the upcoming series will entail aside from a select few. One will see Thor arrive on Midgard, but instead of following the events of the first film, he will throw one of the biggest parties the realm had ever seen. It’ll be so big that it’ll risk the end of the world as we know it. It seems that another upcoming episode in the series could see another unexpected arrival on Earth, one of the galaxies’ most skilled assassins and daughter of the mad titan, Gamora.

In a new report from the Illuminerdi, it seems that an upcoming Gamora-centered episode could see her hunting down the one and only Tony Stark. It could be that Gamora is after Stark following the battle of New York. Iron Man flying through the wormhole the Chitauri were invading from and destroyed their mothership. It rendered Lokis’ army, which later turned out to be Thanos’, useless.  Seeing him as a threat in his ongoing search for the Infinity Stones we could see Thanos send his favorite daughter and most skilled warrior after Tony to make sure he wouldn’t be an issue for him in the future.

Marvel Studios What If? currently has no set release date but will release exclusively on the Disney+ streaming service. The series will feature the return of countless familiar voices from the MCU and even see the debut of Uatu The Watcher, voiced by Jeffrey Wright.

  • James Wan Reveals Title for ‘Aquaman’ Sequel

James Wan Reveals Title for ‘Aquaman’ Sequel

The first Aquaman film proved that anything was possible after grossing over a billion at the box office and reinventing the character of Arthur Curry in the best way possible. The character had always been the butt of the joke with people mocking his abilities to be able to speak to marine life and swim really fast. Once Jason Momoa took over the role, there was obviously a dramatic shift in the character, adopting Samoan culture and giving Arthur a new direction. A sequel was quickly greenlit and we all wondered what the future has in store for the character.  Director James Wan luckily gave us a glimpse with his latest Instagram post revealing the title for the upcoming sequel, Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom.

Not much is known about the film as plot details remain under wraps but it seems like the ‘Lost Kingdom’ could be a reference to the films working title, Necrus. Necrus was another underwater civilization that appeared after a rift opened and spat out the city. A while back we got word that Pilou Asbæk would be joining the upcoming film in an undisclosed role but the recent announcement could hint at him playing the tyrannical ruler, Mongo. He once attempted to strike an alliance with Atlantis to wage war on the surface world. There’s a chance that Orm could get involved to repeat his goal from the first entry.

Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom is currently set to release on December 16th, 2022, and will be directed by James Wan.

  • ‘Batwoman’: First Official Look at Camrus Johnson as Batwing

‘Batwoman’: First Official Look at Camrus Johnson as Batwing

Ever since the first season, Camrus Johnson‘s Luke Fox has been Batwoman’s Man in the Chair. He stepped into his father’s footsteps, who had a similar role for Bruce Wayne. The character has seen a dramatic shift this season and recent set photos confirmed that he’d be hopping out of his chair and straight into the action. We all theorized he’ll join his comic counterpart by donning the identity of Batwing. While it wasn’t officially confirmed, Writer Caroline Dries shared the first promo images of Johnson‘s Batwing suit that he’ll wear for the first time in the upcoming finale of Batwoman‘s second season, and finally, fight alongside Batwoman.

    https://twitter.com/carolinedries/status/1402325159185289217?s=20

The look is heavily inspired by the character’s first appearance as the hero in Batwing #19 after picking up the mantle from David Zavimbe following the hero’s retirement. Fox was quickly recruited by Batman to take over the role. In a statement to TvLine, Johnson explained how excited he was to be wearing the suit and being a role model for kids to look up to.

Honestly, it’s hard to explain how much it means to me to wear the Batwing suit and officially play my first superhero, The main reason I wanted to be in Batwoman was for this opportunity — to give kids like me another Black hero to look up to and relate to. It’s hard not to smile when I catch myself in the mirror with the bat symbol on my chest, and I’ll keep smiling through every fight scene, every awesome stunt, and every Gotham night where Batwing is finally in the field!

It’s definitely exciting to watch the Batfamily grow more and more. While we don’t have them all in one universe it’s great to finally see some of comics’ famous and inspirational heroes from the DC Universe brought to life. The second season finale of Batwoman is currently set to air on June 13th and will see the debut of Johnson as Batwing.
