  • CCPX: Iron Studios Offers First Look at ‘The Mandalorian’ and ‘WandaVision’ Collectibles

CCPX: Iron Studios Offers First Look at ‘The Mandalorian’ and ‘WandaVision’ Collectibles

Iron Studios held one of their panels at the virtual event CCXP Worlds: A Journey of Hope. There they discussed what kind of collectibles they are cooking up for next year. The panel, hosted by Marcelo Bassoli and Renan Pizii, kicked off the show with a look at their brand new Mandalorian collectible figure, which also includes Grogu in his pod from the first season.

During the panel, the team at Iron Studios talked about the future of the Star Wars collectibles. They seem to be looking into capturing moments that haven’t happened yet, or we have yet to see in the franchise, such as Lando Calrissian on Tatooine. They also mentioned Obi-Wan on the famous sand planet, so they might be hinting at the upcoming untitled Kenobi show for Disney+. The panel then shifted towards Marvel and Marvel Studios’ collectibles. Now before the panel even started, they teased the future slate of films that would be coming in 2021 by presenting the logos for Spider-Man, Venom: Let there be Carnage, Eternals, Black Widow, and Shang-Chi.

Not only did they tease the upcoming Marvel film salte, but they also talked a lot about how Iron Studios would be involved with developing collectibles for the Disney+ series. They echoed the words of Marvel Studios CEO Kevin Feige that fans will have to follow the movies and the Disney+ series for this upcoming phase of the MCU. They will be making collectibles based on all of the Disney+ shows before showcasing the various logos once more.

Iron Studios teased that they have already 3 new collectible figures created for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, but that they are still not allowed to show them. It’ll most likely be figures of Sam Wilson, Bucky Barnes, and Baron Zemo. As for WandaVision, they gave us a brand new look at Wanda and Vision’s comic-accurate costumes for the series from the Halloween episode.

Notice the WandaVision icon at the bottom of the statues with the combined W and V. They did repeat a few words about the series that we already heard before. Marcelo and Renan talked about how the Disney+ series will be something we’ve never seen before from the MCU in terms of visuals and storytelling. They also mentioned that they’re going to be working on new concepts for Vision and Wanda, as everything we’ll see was created from Wanda’s imagination. This is a surprise reveal, as it once again confirms that most of the events throughout the series will be the result of Wanda’s vision. Alongside this announcement, they confirmed that more figures are being developed based on the Infinity Saga.

  • ‘Marvel’s Avengers’: Crystal Dynamics Offers Update on AIM Cloning Labs

‘Marvel’s Avengers’: Crystal Dynamics Offers Update on AIM Cloning Labs

Let us start with the good news first. We are getting Kate Bishop next week, which will be our first major addition to the game. It will also give us a feeling of what we can expect from new characters and future story patches. Sadly, their focus on making sure that Kate is as polished as possible we will have to wait a little longer for the multiplayer Omega-Level missions. Crystal Dynamics took to Twitter to reveal that while Kate will release on time, her unique Omega-Level Super Adaptoid mission still needs a little time in the workshop.

Of course, this also confirms that AIM Cloning Labs will still need more time. We’ve been waiting for their first mini-Raid for quite some time, so it is disappointing that it still won’t release. Now, I will say that I am happy that Kate is going to release on time with the brand new content. She does include new missions, perhaps a new warzone type, and, of course, Kate. It isn’t great that we won’t be getting those Raid-type missions right at release, but I will hold CD to that “little more time” aspect of their tweet. At least they didn’t say soon, but I do wish they would give us an actual time window. I hope it still releases before the year ends.

Now, the question is: why is it still being delayed? I believe it is connected to the length of these missions. There were rumors that the AIM Cloning Lab can last up to six hours. Now, imagine if you suddenly lose your connection and cannot rejoin someone? I wouldn’t be surprised if they are still testing out a way to make the multiplayer experience easier for players, especially to avoid any bugs that could hamper one’s run. Keep in mind that this is just speculation on my part. As annoying as the wait is, we still have Kate’s brand new operation Taking AIM coming out early next week, which is going to be an exciting addition.

  • ‘Marvel’s Avengers’ Leak Teases Moon Knight and Namor

‘Marvel’s Avengers’ Leak Teases Moon Knight and Namor

We are only a few days away from Kate finally releasing. Marvel’s Avengers is still in a bit of a dry spell, so this will hopefully change once our first major addition to the game arrives early next week. Now, data miner @mmmmmmmmiller has started to leak a few snippets that build-up to the release. On the first day, we got a voice clip that will be from our first villain addition, AIM’s Super Adaptoid. Today’s leak is the one that caught my eye, as it seems we’ll be seeing many more iconic items from Marvel history getting added as major artifacts in the future.

So, there are many references hidden here. There is a tease of Hank Pym’s Portal Device, which will come into play during Kate’s DLC. The Lifeline Tablet is an artifact that has its origin in Atlantis, which confirms that Namor and the Atlanteans do exist in this universe. Vishanti Appendix could be connected to the trio of supernatural gods of the same name, who worked alongside Doctor Strange in the comics. The odd one out is the Talisman of Spectacle, which was supposedly part of Avengers‘ 5 Gum promotion.

The Ancient Winter reference might be familiar to those that watched Thor. It even gets referenced in the data files in the game as well. Not just that, we also get the Staff of Khonshu, which means the developers might have Moon Knight in the pipeline at some point. Of course, the inclusion of the artifacts does not confirm he’ll make an appearance anytime soon, but it means he is on Crystal Dynamics list for some time in the future. If they time it right, they could promote the character’s addition once Marvel Studios’ Disney+ series nears its release.

  • Vera Farmiga, Tony Dalton and More Join ‘HAWKEYE’

Vera Farmiga, Tony Dalton and More Join ‘HAWKEYE’

After the casting of Hailee Steinfeld was confirmed yesterday by our exclusive set video, Disney wasted no time in announcing 6 more members of the streaming series, Hawkeye, currently filming in Brooklyn. The Marvel Studios series has added the following actors and actresses to the cast:

    • Vera Farmiga as Eleanor Bishop, the mother of Kate
    • Tony Dalton as Jack Duquense, the mentor of Hawkeye and former Avenger known as the Swordsman
    • Fra Fee as the Clown, aka Kazimierz Kazimierczak
    • Florence Pugh who will reprise her role as Yelena Belova
    • Newcomer Alaqua Cox who will portray Maya Lopez/Echo, a role we first reported here
    • Zahn McLarnon as William Lopez, Echo’s father known in the comics as Crazy Horse

The Oscar-nominated Farmiga lands an interesting role as Eleanor Bishop. While her early origins show that her father, Derek, was into some bad business, her mother was later revealed to be a part of the West Coast Masters of Evil. Dalton’s Duquesne is a character we have long-expected to be cast and talked about at length here. Fee lands the villain’s role as the Clown, a role rumored to be going to Bill Skarsgaard at one point. Pugh was recently rumored to be returning to the role of Belova and, it appears, that Marvel Studios wasn’t too worried about spoiling the fate of her character after all. Cox’s Echo will be a deaf character who, true to her comic origins, is said to be able to mimic her opponents’ fighting styles. It will be interesting to see how Marvel Studios adapts Crazy Horse as in the comics it was his death at the hands of the Kingpin that lead to his daughter, Maya, being raised by the big man.

Hawkeye is now filming and will stream on Disney Plus when they are good and ready to show us!

  • Another ‘Hawkeye’ BTS Video Offers a Closer Look at Hailee Steinfeld

Another ‘Hawkeye’ BTS Video Offers a Closer Look at Hailee Steinfeld

Just today, we finally got a great look at Hawkeye‘s brand new set. They were filming a sequence in the subway, which showcased Clint, Kate, and everyone’s favorite dog, Lucky. It was a tad bit blurry, but it finally confirmed that Hailee Steinfeld joined the cast as Kate Bishop. It is crazy to think that it still has never been officially announced, but after these videos made it online, we are sure to get that statement sooner rather than later. Luckily, once one video is out, more are sure to follow, and it looks like @HSteinfeldNews got an even better look at the sequence that is taking place in the subway.

    https://twitter.com/HSteinfeldNews/status/1334235622958096384?s=20

That close up pretty much confirms it is her. It is also great seeing her run around with the bow in her hand. Also, if you look closely, the shirt she is wearing under her mantle is her iconic purple as well. It seems they are on the run. They certainly seem impatient about jumping on that subway, or Jeremy Renner is just freezing. Also, it looks like Lucky will be part of the action. Perhaps he is on the hunt for some pizza. We’ll see how this all fits together once the show releases, but it’ll be interesting where else they might be filming.

It’s crazy seeing some of these BTS sequences. After a year filled with delays and cancellations, it is good to know that they are still hard at work on future shows. We will see if we can get more shots from the set as they continue to film in NYC. She-Hulk and Moon Knight are going to start production in the coming months. So, we might get some glimpses from that as well. Now, if only we could already watch WandaVision.

  • EXCLU: First Look at Lucky the Pizza Dog on ‘Hawkeye’ Set

EXCLU: First Look at Lucky the Pizza Dog on ‘Hawkeye’ Set

Hawkeye finally started filming in NYC. Going by Anchor Point, they are currently filming underground, so it is difficult to get any good shot. Luckily, we were able to snag something rather special. Yes, we finally got our very first look at Lucky the Pizza Dog. It looks like they are getting ready for a scene with him, as he is just waiting above the stairs. It is uncertain what they might be filming but it is great we finally get our first look at him. There is a chance he might bolt down the stairs, or someone is about to run towards him.

I still hope he might get his very own episode, where we follow him around. It was one of the best chapters in Matt Fraction‘s Hawkeye run. We still don’t know who is playing Kate Bishop but at least we got our first look at the iconic archer companion in live-action. He was briefly teased a while back during the Disney+ special that showcased artwork for the various upcoming series. Just these few glimpses are already making this quite an exciting project.

  • ‘Marvel’s Avengers’ Leak Teases Super Adaptoid Ahead of First DLC Release

‘Marvel’s Avengers’ Leak Teases Super Adaptoid Ahead of First DLC Release

Marvel’s Avengers has been facing quite the drought, but we are only one week away from finally getting our hands on the game’s first major DLC. Kate Bishop will hopefully kickstart the game’s expansion, which got delayed due to bugs. Now, we are closing in on the release, which is slated for December 8th. One more week to go until we get our first look at what the future may hold for us. Luckily, the always reliable leaker @mmmmmmmmiller seems to be starting what one can describe as the Seven Days of Kate-mas. As we are building up to the release, he promises that we will get a small leak per day. So, let’s not waste any more time and jump into our first tease.

That robotic voice would automatically make one think of Ultron. Of course, we know that this is most likely the voice of the Super Adaptoid, who will be the main enemy of Kate’s unique single-player campaign. He is a robot designed by AIM that copies the abilities of our favorite heroes. His design is surprisingly comic-accurate, especially with his green glow. I am surprised he has a voice, which sounds surprisingly similar to that of the Roy robots that are vendors in the various outposts. There is a good chance that they were prototypes that would eventually become the Adaptoid and, just maybe, Ultron later down the line. We’ll see what else may be heading our way in the coming days, but it is a nice little tease of what is to come.

  • Exploring ‘Daredevil’s Future Beyond Its Netflix Run

Exploring ‘Daredevil’s Future Beyond Its Netflix Run

For those out there hoping to support the return of Netflix’s Daredevil, be sure to check out the site SaveDaredevil.com. They’ve probably been campaigning for its return since its cancellation, so be sure to give them a visit while you’re at it!

It is crazy to think that Daredevil‘s third season aired two years ago. Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio reminded us why they were the perfect duo to take on the dynamic between Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk. The original Netflix deal was massive, as they signed up for four series consisting of 13 episodes. Not just that, they also made a deal to film most of the series directly in New York City, where it would all lead up to a The Defenders crossover. It was going to be the small-screen Avengers built on Marvel’s Television division. Right now, Netflix still held a tight grip on the rights to all franchisees that aired on the streaming service. So, many of us were waiting for the moment they could return. Supposedly, the rights return two years after it aired its final episode, and we are finally at that point. So, let us look at how exactly Daredevil could become part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Now, like many, I want the core cast to return. Charlie Cox, Deborah Ann Woll, and Elden Henson were outstanding. Matt Murdock is always conflicted between the devil calling him to defend the streets, but also his human need for a normal life. He is nothing without Karen Page and Foggy Nelson keeping him centered, as he balances being a lawyer and vigilante. Of course, there is also Vincent D’Onofrio‘s Wilson Fisk, who may be one of the best Marvel villains brought into live-action. Also, I hope we also see the return of Ayelet Zurer‘s Vanessa. Her relationship with Fisk elevated it in unique ways and managed to humanize all of Fisk’s actions in an interesting way. While we’re at it, Wilson Bethel deserves more time as Bullseye, just saying. Now that Jamie Foxx is going to return as Electro in Spider-Man‘s still-untitled third entry, there is no excuse that they can’t have the iconic cast return.

There is, sadly, one major issue of continuing the series where it originally ended. I don’t believe that every part of The Defenders will remain the same. Most notably, there is a good chance that Iron Fist will get a complete reboot. Out of all of the Netflix series, it felt like it was trying its hardest to avoid the aspects that made the character unique, which may be something that Marvel Studios CEO Kevin Feige wants to change. Yet, a massive part of the crossover was how the main antagonists, the Hand, had strong ties to K’un-Lun, where Danny Rand gained his magical fist. Maybe this time we get to visit the hidden city. Daredevil‘s third season has built on the events that transpired during Netflix’s mini-series. If it weren’t for the four vigilantes taking on a group of supernatural ninjas, we wouldn’t have had Matt’s reawakening that would lead to him taking on his original mantle.

As I write that, it doesn’t mean it is impossible, just that it may not fit into Feige‘s plans. Plus, they seem to have mapped out quite a bit ahead, as plenty of series and films are about to enter production. So, we might not see anything related to any of the Netflix series by the latest of 2023 or even 2024. Now, there is a way that it could work to integrate the events from all Defenders into the mainline MCU overarching storyline. The approach is simple: all of them are already active once we meet them again. It would be a similar approach to that of The Incredible Hulk. Yes, Mark Ruffalo looks nothing like Edward Norton, but the storyline mainly remained the same. So, why couldn’t everything from Daredevil‘s first season up until Jessica Jones‘ final season has taken place in the same timeline with some slight alterations?

Even if someone else takes over the role of Iron Fist, Jessica Jones, or Luke Cage, the main events still occurred. Viewers are technically familiar with what transpired. They can make references to past events as an easy recap for newer viewers. They can also leave some aspects vague to adapt it to fit the new narrative. There is no need to rehash Murdock’s origin story again besides showcasing some of the emotional cores that defined him. Netflix could be part of a different dimension, as the mainline MCU’s events were similar in most places.

They did something similar with Spider-Man: Homecoming, where they built on everyone’s understanding of the character’s core principles. It was a popular show on Netflix, so there is no need to retread old ground. That would only be necessary if Feige had any plans to reuse the Hand in different ways. Even if they don’t continue the storyline set up by the first three seasons of Netflix, they can still use people’s understanding of the characters to move forward rather than retread familiar ground once again. We also saw the advantage of an ongoing format for the characters, so it would be a waste not to continue the series on Disney+, especially when they are exploring darker characters like Moon Knight on the platform. Their introduction though could open up the potential to having them crossover into films, which seems to be the plan for many of the streaming characters. Either way, if Marvel Studios decides to move forward, I hope to see this amazing cast return so that they can continue the story where they left off.

  • RUMOR: Florence Pugh to Return as Yelena Belova in ‘Hawkeye’ Series

RUMOR: Florence Pugh to Return as Yelena Belova in ‘Hawkeye’ Series

So, here is an interesting surprise. We are only a few days away before Hawkeye finally starts filming. We are still waiting for an official word on who might be playing Kate Bishop with Hailee Steinfeld still the biggest contender for the role. The story would be strongly inspired by Matt Fraction‘s run on the character. It was still uncertain what other characters we could see make a return from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Well, it looks like one important character that has yet been introduced will appear in the series after making her film debut. According to The Direct, Florence Pugh will return as Yelena Belova at one point in the series.

That is not all, as they also state that she will don a Ronin-inspired costume. Now, this is interesting for multiple reasons. We saw Clint Barton wear the iconic suit during Avengers: Endgame, as he killed various Yakuza, which was teased to haunt him in this series. We also had the rumors of Echo making an appearance, who had also donned the suit at one point in the comics. The mantle was worn by various characters but this is the first time that it is connected to Yelena. We believed that she would carry on the mantle of Black Widow once she makes her debut in the upcoming film, but it looks like her journey won’t be an easy one.

There is also the question of how her story will lead to the Disney+ series. We got a short teaser of her on a desk during the Black Widow trailer, so maybe she gets mind controlled and ends up in a similar situation to the Winter Soldier. Yet, there is a time difference between the film and the Disney+ series that opens up so many questions. There is a chance that she has met with Clint during his time as Ronin, who may have passed not he mantle to her rather than Echo. It’ll be interesting to see how it all connects once the show finally airs. Now, we just need to find out who is playing Kate Bishop.

  • Marvel Studios Teases Thanos’ Eternals Heritage

Marvel Studios Teases Thanos’ Eternals Heritage

It seemed like Thanos’ story might’ve ended with Avengers: Endgame. Yet, comic fans know that the Mad Titan has some interesting connections to another race of aliens. He was the son of two Eternals, A’lars and Sui-San. Yet, he was born with the Deviants gene, which is why Thanos had his purple complexion. It was uncertain if he would still hold that connection in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, especially now that Eternals will release next year. Well, The Direct had a chance to visit the interactive exhibit Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N. where they showcase props and information on the franchise. It seems they added something on the infamous titan that may finally confirm his lineage.

Thanos’ origin is said to be on Saturn’s largest moon, Titan, making him a Titanian in nature. It is rumored however that Thanos is the last of an ancient and highly sophisticated species known throughout the universe as ‘The Eternals’.

I do believe that there is a reason they say it is “rumored” as some may still be on Earth. Sersi is a prime candidate who might have chosen to stay among humans. We don’t know if the Eternals lived on Titan at one point, so it’ll be interesting to see if that gets explored in the upcoming film. Thor seems to be the source of this information. It looks like the Asgardians are aware of the Eternals’ existence, which may also hint at a connection if you consider the Norse Gods’ long lives.
