  • ‘She-Hulk’ Trailer Proves the Stark Legacy Remains Alive in the MCU

‘She-Hulk’ Trailer Proves the Stark Legacy Remains Alive in the MCU

Beginning with their time together in 2012’s The Avengers, Robert Downey Jr’s Tony Stark and Mark Ruffalo’s Bruce Banner put together some memorable scenes as the MCU’s Science Bros. Whether they were analyzing Loki’s scepter, creating artificial intelligence or creating the gauntlet to save the world, Stark and Banner’s working relationship was one of the MCU’s best.

With Stark gone and Reed Richards yet to arrive, Professor Hulk is the MCU’s resident genius and, from the looks of the new She-Hulk: Attorney at Law trailer, he’s got a pretty nice set up somewhere warm. And while his science bro might be gone, the new trailer shows us that he’s not forgotten.

In an extended look at Bruce’s tests on his cousin, Jennifer Walters, we see that he’s not scared to run her through the mill in order to get her inner-Hulk to appear, including putting her in room where the walls that close in on her are outfitted with dozens of gnarly looking spinning blades. And, if you look closely, those blades are Stark Tech!

It wouldn’t be surprising to find out that most of Banner’s lab is comprised of Stark Tech that he’s taken on since Tony’s sacrifice in Avengers: Endgame. We know Happy was able to relocate the fabricator, seen in Spider-Man: Now Way Home, so maybe the rest of Banner’s lab will be filled with Stark Tech Easter eggs for fans to pick out over the course of his limited time in the series.

  • Ginger Gonzaga’s ‘She-Hulk’ Character Revealed to be an MCU Original

Ginger Gonzaga’s ‘She-Hulk’ Character Revealed to be an MCU Original

Jill Stevens. Patsy Walker. Angie Huang. Those are just some of the names bandied about by fans as they tried to piece together just what character Ginger Gonzaga would be playing in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. As it turns out, it’s none of the above.

The speculation about Gonzaga’s role came from information that indicated the character would be Jennifer Walters’ best friend in the upcoming series. That sent internet detectives scrambling to Google where Stevens and Walker were among the fist names to pop up. Speculation also turned to Huang, who was a paralegal that worked for Walters at her own law offices during Charles Soule’s She-Hulk run. Now, thanks to closed captioning on the first trailer for the series, we know that Gonzaga’s bestie-of-Jen is named Nikki.

As is often the case in the MCU, Nikki may turn out to be an original character who shares similarities with one or all of the characters mentioned above. It’s still not entirely clear what her role is at GLKH, but a shot in the trailer does seem to indicate she works there. Of course, there’s always room for a surprise, so Nikki may turn out to have some fabulous powers along the way, but for now it seems that her super power is being Jen’s best friend and discussing life over drink. Interpersonal relationships away from work isn’t something we’ve seen an awful lot of to date in the MCU, so whatever character she’s playing, it’ll be a welcome addition.

We’ll find out much more about Gonzaga’s character when She-Hulk: Attorney at Law begins streaming on Disney Plus on August 17th.

  • ‘She-Hulk’s Old Logo Design Lives on Through Her Law Agency

‘She-Hulk’s Old Logo Design Lives on Through Her Law Agency

Here’s a cute surprise, but it looks like the last She-Hulk logo design that we saw is still present in the series. While they went for a more modern take on the classic logo, especially with the new “Attorney at Law” addition, it seems that they still had some use for the logo that was revealed during Disney+ day. If you look closely in the background during the trailer, you can spot that the agency she works for is still Goodman, Lieber, Kurtzberg & Holliway. While the name isn’t stated directly, you can clearly see the initials in the background with GLKH.

It looks like they repurposed the old logo as the design for the law agency. While not world-breaking in the Easter egg department, it’s fun to see that this might’ve been the original inspiration for that design before they went with the current one. It definitely felt like they were taking cues from law firms and procedural law series as the inspiration, but decided to stick to the comic book design after all.

Marvel Studios has had this interesting tendency to change their logo designs throughout their entire ad campaign. It’s been a bit jarring how many versions they go through with some projects, such as Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness receiving a new one only weeks before its release. Still, it does become a fun game of which one they might decide is the one that best represents their final project.

  • First Look at MCU’s Wrecking Crew May Have Been Spotted in First ‘She-Hulk’ Trailer

First Look at MCU’s Wrecking Crew May Have Been Spotted in First ‘She-Hulk’ Trailer

There have been quite a few discussions last night as the first trailer dropped for She-Hulk. Many have focused on the CG work for Tatiana Maslany‘s transformation into She-Hulk but also the vibe it is seemingly going for, as it may give us the first Disney+ series that’s full-on comedy. A press release confirmed that we can expect Benedict Wong‘s return to the MCU right after Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, but there’s one aspect that may have gotten overlooked in all the chaos.

Early in the trailer, we can see a group of people that are wielding crowbars. While they seem like an unassuming group of thugs but this may be our first look at the MCUs take on the Wrecking Crew. We’ve heard rumors back in July of 2021 that the group of Thor villains would appear in the series, and this might be our first look at them.

It definitely is a different take on the team, as they aren’t wearing their over-the-top costumes from the comics, but them all wielding wrenches seems like the dead giveaway that it’s them. Of course, they may all get powers at a later point and this is just our first introduction to them. So, we’ll see if they’ll also embrace the concept from the comics and we get some magically enchanted crowbars. Either way, they may be a group of recurring villains throughout the show’s runtime and it’ll be interesting to see how they balance the comedy with their usual superhero action.

  • Benedict Wong Confirmed to Appear in ‘She-Hulk’

Benedict Wong Confirmed to Appear in ‘She-Hulk’

Here’s a rather big surprise, while all eyes are on the trailer for She-Hulk which included a few glimpses at the supporting cast and villains Tatiana Maslany‘s version of the character will face. Yet, there’s one little additional casting tucked away in the official casting list. It looks like fresh off of his appearance in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Benedict Wong will return once again to the MCU in the She-Hulk Disney+ series.

The series will run for nine episodes similar to WandaVision. It’s a shorter runtime than initially expected, as comedies were rethought to have around ten episodes while drama’s focused on six. It seems that plan has shifted since the release of their first series, which had to shorten its episode count due to the pandemic. Considering the budget involved with a fully CG Hulk, She-Hulk, and Abomination, it might’ve ballooned quite a bit while VFX houses are also struggling to keep up.

For now, the series looks like a lot of fun and has an Ally McBeal feeling going for it combined with some superhero action. There’s a lot we don’t know yet about the series and it’s unclear if it’ll have an overarching structure or go with a weekly case concept. For now, we can only wait and see as more information arrives and the next trailer gives us a better look at how they bring the character to life.

  • First Look at Titania, Leap-Frog and More in ‘She-Hulk’ Teaser

First Look at Titania, Leap-Frog and More in ‘She-Hulk’ Teaser

The rumors of a lengthy delay to Marvel Studios Disney Plus streaming series She-Hulk have been debunked with the first teaser for the series debuting and the release date is officially revealed. The teaser also gave fans their first looks at the supporting cast of the show, including Jameela Jamil’s updated Titania, and a surprise appearance by a Daredevil baddie that’s sure to have everyone Wiki-ing away.

Jamil‘s role in the series had hardly been a secret, with reports dating back nearly a year ago that she’d be bringing Titania to live-action. Described as a Kardashian-esque influencer, Jamil‘s version of the character looks to be an incredibly modernized version of the comic character, first introduced in the 1984 event, Secret Wars.

Finally, Daredevil baddie Leap-Frog made a surprise appearance in the teaser, proving that no character is off-limits in this series. The character first made his appearance in the comics over 50 years ago in Daredevil #25 and had a wildly unsuccessful career as a villain despite being a genius inventor. Leap-Frog’s son took over the suit and going by the name Frog-Man, became a hero who was eventually part of The Initiative. It seems that, in the MCU, the character will be a mish-mash of father and son.

  • First ‘She-Hulk’ Trailer Reveals New Title for Disney+ Series

First ‘She-Hulk’ Trailer Reveals New Title for Disney+ Series

After a long wait, the first trailer finally arrived for Disney+’s She-Hulk. We’ve only gotten a glimpse at the project during last year’s Disney+ Day alongside a new logo, but that was only the tease of what’s to come. The project also got a new logo at the time, which was closer to its Law & Order inspirations rather than the comic-inspired logo. It seems that it got another revamp and a new logo going along with it, as the Marvel Studios series is now titled She-Hulk, Attorney At Law.

    Image

Now, the title certainly highlights the comedy series’ strong focus on procedural, as we’ll likely spend a lot of time with the titular heroine trying to fight her way through one lawsuit after another. Yet, it also may have caught the attention of some that are fans of Cartoon Network’s earliest Adult Swim era. The title seems like a tribute to Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law.

If it is intended, the tribute makes a lot of sense given the way that the animated series featured a former superhero acting as an attorney. He would have various iconic characters from Hanna-Barbera’s animation history pop in for various lawsuits, no matter how crazy they may have been. We’ve even written a piece in December of 2020 about how She-Hulk should echo that series given its perchance to also break the fourth wall. Maybe we even get some appearances of Gary Cole or Stephen Colbert, which would be a nice little touch to pay tribute to the iconic Adult Swim series.

She-Hulk will begin streaming on Disney+ on August 17th.

  • Disney UK May Have Accidentally Leaked ‘She-Hulk’s Release Date

Disney UK May Have Accidentally Leaked ‘She-Hulk’s Release Date

Marvel Studios has had a rather strict approach when it comes to their Disney+ shows. As the schedule has shifted quite a bit throughout the years due to COVID, it’s been harder to get a feeling for when we may expect a series to actually release. Ms. Marvel came in with a surprising early June release, making us wonder when we might expect She-Hulk. Turns out, the wait might not be that long as the official Disney UK site has accidentally revealed that the series will premiere on August 17th on Disney+.

There is one aspect to this overview that’s a bit strange and it’s that Moon Knight is noticeably missing. The last Marvel Studios addition to Disney+ mentioned is Eternals but there’s no sign of the recently ended Moon Knight show. So, there may be some errors that have slipped through and the release date for She-Hulk could be changed depending on what the production requires. Yet, an August release would match rumors that we’ve heard back in April.

She-Hulk will see Tatiana Maslany take on the role of Jennifer Walters, a lawyer specializing in superheroes. Rumors have hinted that the show might include Wong trying to sue another wizard, as well as an episode focused on the return of Damage Control. If these turn out true, it may be the first series to truly have a week-to-week format, but it may follow WandaVision as it ends with a more traditional structure. We’ll have to see if the first trailer gives us any hint on how the series might turn out.

  • RUMOR: ‘She-Hulk’ Streaming Debut Facing Indefinite Delay

RUMOR: ‘She-Hulk’ Streaming Debut Facing Indefinite Delay

Just as word comes that star Tatiana Maslany has put together a “jaw-dropping” performance as Jennifer Walters in the upcoming Disney Plus streaming series She-Hulk, a new rumor has surfaced that indicates it might be a while before fans get to judge for themselves.

While the streaming series has never really had an official date outside of “sometime in 2022”, a previously reliable source of information has surfaced again, this time suggesting that it’ll be late 2022 or even early 2023 before She-Hulk hits the streaming service. While the post doesn’t give details as to why it’ll be another half year or so before we see it, it can be inferred from other information in the post that the delay could be due to VFX work taking a little longer than expected.

Whenever She-Hulk does stream, it’s expected to be a 9-episode series of 30-minute episodes and to be heavily comedic in nature. Maslany will be joined by MCU vets Mark Ruffalo, Tim Roth and newcomers Ginger Gonzaga, Renee Elise Goldsberry, and Jameela Jamil, who will portray Titania. Marvel Studios has not commented on any official release ate for the series.

  • Tim Roth Has High Praise for ‘She-Hulk’s Tatiana Maslany is “Jaw-Dropping” in the Disney+ Series

Tim Roth Has High Praise for ‘She-Hulk’s Tatiana Maslany is “Jaw-Dropping” in the Disney+ Series

It’s been a quiet day, but a new interview from ET Canada has found its way online. In it, Tim Roth gets to share some aspects of his work on the upcoming Disney+ series, She-Hulk. As he gets a chance to return as Abomination once again, he shared his thoughts on the upcoming series. Yet, he had some high praise for fellow co-star Tatiana Maslany, who he describes as “amazing” and “jaw-dropping.”

She’s amazing. It’s actually jaw-dropping. I was just watching on a day-to-day level. Sometimes dialogue lands just on that level […]. Her ability to absorb and then perform was quite remarkable. And she’s funny. One of the signs of a good actor is their comedic touch and she has it in spades.

    Tim Roth

It certainly sounds promising, and as she’ll become a big player in the Marvel Cinematic Universe moving forward, she may become an anchor of the franchise. It’s exciting to generally see what she has to offer and given the series’ comedic direction, it does seem promising if he highlights her “comedic touch.”

We’re still anxiously waiting for a trailer for Thor: Love and Thunder but it’ll also be quite exciting to see what She-Hulk’s first trailer might have to offer. We’ll likely not see anything until around the time that Ms. Marvel releases, but it’s going to be exciting once we get our first glimpses of the new series.
