  • Wong and Strange Fight Gargantos in New Footage Description of ‘Multiverse of Madness’ From CinemaCon

Wong and Strange Fight Gargantos in New Footage Description of ‘Multiverse of Madness’ From CinemaCon

While the Disney panel kicked off with a sizzle reel, it didn’t take long for Marvel Studios to take the stage and share some details. Yet, that isn’t all as they also had some footage of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness ready for those attending CinemaCon. It seems that they include footage of America Chavez meeting a Strange, very likely Defender Strange, before heading out and accidentally dragging a monster into the mainline MCU, which leads to some great action sequences featuring Wong, as shared by ScreenRant.

Erik Davis has also shared a description revealing they saw 20 minutes of the film, which includes a few multiversal battle sequences, confirming that the one they fight is probably Gargantos, the MCU’s Shuma-Gorath, and it even includes a Spider-Man reference.

So, it seems that we might have a good grasp of how the film opens up. At some point in her travels through the multiverse, America Chavez is going to stumble upon a Variant of Strange before accidentally bringing it to the Marvel Cinematic Universe that we’ve grown accustomed to. Though, it does open up the question what exactly are the events that drag that version of Strange into the multiverse as a result of these events, and will Gargantos even have a bigger part in the story to begin with.

  • ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ Already Made $42M in Pre-Sales

‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ Already Made $42M in Pre-Sales

CinemaCon is the place to highlight the future of cinema, and it seems Disney is making a big splash with its even today. While we just got some footage showcased and even a tease for what the future has in store for fans. Yet, they also snuck in one major announcement as Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has seemingly already made $42M in pre-sales to date according to the announcement made during the Disney panel.

Our only comparison point for the presales is that Multiverse of Madness already outpaced The Batman, which was on its path to making around $800M. So, it seems almost like the film has a set path to manage a billion box office run. Yet, the film is also getting banned in some regions due to the inclusion of LGBTQ representation. Disney and Marvel Studios are staying true to their vision of the film.

If there’s uncertainty, Spider-Man: No Way Home managed to almost hit $2 billion without even releasing it in China. So, who knows if the international market is changing into a new generation as the pandemic is slowly calming down and things are returning to somewhat of normalcy for now. We’ll see just how big the film may end up being once it releases next week.

  • First Footage Description of ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ from CinemaCon

First Footage Description of ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ from CinemaCon

It looks like Marvel is the first to present at Disney’s CinemaCon panel, and before Kevin Feige took to stage, they showcased some footage for their upcoming projects. It looks like that also included a brief snippet for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. While it doesn’t reveal much, it seemingly included Nakia, Shuri and Okoye, who are at the frontlines for a battle, which may

It was surprising that they haven’t shown more at the event, as there wasn’t even any tease for Thor: Love and Thunder. Most of the focus remained on Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, which is a given as it’s going to release soon. Still, the fact they are teasing a “major battle” that potentially could be where they take on an invasion by Atlantis and Namor.

We likely won’t get a trailer until July or August, as there’s still some time before the release and Thor‘s next entry also changed the trailer release window between these projects. We don’t know if they might build up more suspense moving forward, or return to the more traditional release window. Only time will tell, but it looks like they are still working hard on the film so it can hit its November release.

  • ‘Harley Quinn’s Kite-Man Spinoff Officially Ordered to Series

‘Harley Quinn’s Kite-Man Spinoff Officially Ordered to Series

HBO Max is all-in with the upcoming Harley Quinn spinoff focused on the loveable “Hell Yeah” shouter, Kite Man. Titled Noonan’s, the series focuses on his time owning a bar and the many patrons that visit it from the DC Universe. Co-Creator of the original series Dean Lorey will act as the series showrunner. Suzanna Makkos, the executive Vice President of Original Comedy and Adult Animation for HBO Max and Adult Swim, shared their excitement for the spinoff.

We love the wild and fun world of ‘Harley Quinn’ so much we just had to make a spin-off and who better to center it around than the outcast Kite Man. Justin, Patrick, and Dean have created the perfect local hangout for Gotham City’s not-so-finest at Noonan’s, where bar patrons can blow off steam after a long day of mayhem

The project’s name may potentially change, but it’s great to see the fan-favorite character get his own spinoff out of Harley Quinn. The show took a hard R-rating to explore the DC universe in a unique way. It’s become quite the favorite with those that hoped to see their favorite characters cursing up a storm, and it never minced its words on what it’s about.

Kite-Man is a perfect straight man. So, whatever other villain or hero shows up at his bar may perfectly bounce off of his “Hell Yeah” attitude. We also don’t know if it might even tie into the main series, as it’s busy preparing for the release of its third season.

  • New Comic-Inspired ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ Promo Art Offers New Look at Gorr

New Comic-Inspired ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ Promo Art Offers New Look at Gorr

Even with a trailer and poster out for Thor: Love and Thunder, our only real look at Christian Bale‘s Gorr the God Butcher comes through merchandise. We got the release which included some concept art with a very different design from the comics. Yet, a Funko Pop would tease that he may indeed have similar abilities to what he had in the comics, as the All-Black Necrosword can extend like a symbiote. A new round of promo images for Love and Thunder have found their way online that are inspired by classic comic covers, which also include a new look at Gorr.

Mighty Thor gets a good focus alongside Thor, but the final image includes a great look at Gorr wielding his weapon. Yes, he is true quite a bit more humanoid with white robes covering his body, but it once again confirms that the All-Black has the ability to extend with some dark energy. Here’s hoping that means he’ll also get his iconic black hood as the film goes on. Perhaps he’ll become more and more alien over the course of using the blade, which may curse its user.

    Image

As it’s a drawing, they may change quite a bit about the design but it does seem the tendrils of darkness are going to remain a consisting element of his design. The actual blade is a curious design, as it seems like a normal longsword rather than something that screams “alien.” It may have a different origin story in the film rather than in the comics and may actually have some kind of connection to the overarching storyline. Perhaps it even plays a bigger role in the MCU moving forward.

  • Star Wars Celebration Newsletter Confirms ‘Tales of the Jedi’ Animated Anthology Series

Star Wars Celebration Newsletter Confirms ‘Tales of the Jedi’ Animated Anthology Series

It looks like the Star Wars celebration newsletter may have accidentally leaked the long-rumored Tales of the Jedi series. It’s been long rumored that they were working on an animated project, especially as the animation studio behind Monsters at Work hinted at a collaboration with Lucasfilm. Then there was a gift to Lucasfilm employees which included the logo for Tales of the Jedi. It was rumored we might get a confirmation at this year’s Star Wars Celebration event, but it seems their newsletter accidentally confirmed it, as shared by @SteeleWars on Twitter.

There has been quite the hunt on what exactly this series is going to end up being, as there’s also one that takes place during the High Republic that’s been strongly rumored and may even start production soon. Still, it seems that we might have a lot more heading our way during the upcoming Star Wars Celebration, as it might offer a few more teases of what the future has in store.

There was a noticeable absence of coverage for the franchise, as while Marvel Studios is promoting two Disney+ series and two films at the same tie, we are barely trying to keep up with Obi-Wan Kenobi and have no idea when we can expect something on Andor or any other project from the franchise. Here’s hopping that may change soon with the event by the end of May.

  • ‘Sonic the Hedgehog 2’ Now the Highest Grossing Video Game Adaptation

‘Sonic the Hedgehog 2’ Now the Highest Grossing Video Game Adaptation

Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is on its way to passing $300M worldwide, but even before it has passed that landmark, it has already taken the top spot when it comes to live-action adaptations of video game franchises. To be fair, it only had to beat its own previous franchise installment, which had that spot at $146.1M. Uncharted was close on its tail, which currently stands at $145.9M. So, even with more competition on the horizon, the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise is still holding on strong with its second entry.

Paramount is all-in with their new franchise, as they announced the third entry even before it was released as well as a Knuckles-focused spinoff for Paramount+. It is currently doing quite well in the United Kingdom and still hasn’t been released yet in the Middle East or Japan, the former being a big contender to push its box office numbers further. While it’s hard to say if it’ll pass the $400M mark, there’s still some potential.

We also have to take into account that the film has only recently been released, which means it’ll continue to set a higher benchmark for future entries. It’s strange to think that Pokémon: Detective Pikachu, which also had an impressive $144M back in 2019, never received a sequel of any kind. Still, that franchise is moving to Netflix with no news of another film in any form of development currently.

  • More ‘Ms. Marvel’ Promo Art Teases Her Iconic Line from the Comics

More ‘Ms. Marvel’ Promo Art Teases Her Iconic Line from the Comics

It looks like more Ms. Marvel promo art is finding its way online. The last time we shared it, we noticed it offered the best look yet at Red Dagger. Most of it just highlighted Iman Vellani in her Ms. Marvel costume, which ironically is our best close-up of her design. Yet, @MsMarvelUK has shared a few more with one standing out for including an iconic line that she’s said in the comics and even in Marvel’s Avengers game. The line became famous as the original comic storyline saw her say this as she made her own costume.

Because sometimes you need superhero quotes to push through a year and make it to the next, and because sometimes...bees. | Comics, Superhero quotes, Marvel

There are two visuals highlighting the line which also keeps the fun design aesthetic they are seemingly going for with Ms. Marvel. The latest trailer drop also included this design aesthetic which made for a unique design to stick out from the rest, while highlighting her teenage fan mentality.

It does seem unlikely that she’ll say the line early on, but it seems clearer that they could use this as the emotional climax before she faces whatever threat that’ll make her life a living hell in the series. We surprisingly still know very little about who the enemies will end up being for her adventure, especially with the Inhuman elements seemingly removed. Yet, they may use this chance to slowly build up that part of the universe, especially with the upcoming appearance of Mutants as well. So, they might reinvent their mythology to avoid too many comparisons between the two. For now, it’s just speculation but we’ll know more once June rolls around.

  • ‘Marvel’s Avengers’ Leak Offers First Look at MCU-Inspired ‘Civil War’ Iron Man Skin and More

‘Marvel’s Avengers’ Leak Offers First Look at MCU-Inspired ‘Civil War’ Iron Man Skin and More

Just yesterday, we covered the leaked audio files that teased what upcoming playable characters will join Marvel’s Avengers potentially in the future. As production on this game has been in a constant shift, as is usual with any live service game, it does add some excitement to know that they are potentially releasing in the future. Now, it seems that @mmmmmmmiller has potentially leaked some skins from the game that tease comic-inspired designs and Captain America: Civil War‘s Iron Man armor.

He also teased comic-inspired designs based on Thor when he was wearing a Destroyer armor, as well as Hulk inspired by one of his most iconic War storylines. Keep in mind that all these skins being showcased are low-res and very likely still in some form of development. Of course, these aren’t official announcements and are early leaks. So, these are in some form of development internally, and that doesn’t mean that they’ll release within a specific time frame.

The details on the new skins are quite impressive, and the new in-game way of gaining character skins through grinding in-game currency has added a good incentive to spend some more time with the game between updates. We will also get our hands on a new playable character in the near future with Mighty Thor, which will make for a fun new character to play. So, here’s looking forward to what the future of this game has to offer.

  • ‘Marvel Studios Legends’ Episodes on Doctor Strange, Wong, and Scarlet to Release This Week

‘Marvel Studios Legends’ Episodes on Doctor Strange, Wong, and Scarlet to Release This Week

Marvel Studios’ expansion to Disney+ has not only brought us some memorable live-action and even animated projects, but it also gave the team an opportunity to quickly catch up with viewers that may not be fully invested in every entry of the MCU. For those that are looking for the cliff notes, Marvel Studios Legends is the perfect way to get ready without having to invest hours of content. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ release is on the horizon and luckily, Disney+ Italy account.

They reveal that three episodes will release on April 29th, which includes one for Doctor Strange, Wong, and Scarlet Witch. Of course, it doesn’t include any details regarding what they will cover, but it’s likely going to follow every appearance throughout the MCU to help those that may have missed out on a few appearances, or simply haven’t had the time. What’s interesting is that Wanda already got an episode ahead of WandaVision‘s release and is purposefully called the Scarlet Witch this time around.

It’s become somewhat of a tradition that each new entry also includes these teases, especially if it includes characters that have been part of the franchise for quite some time. Plus, it’s a great way to add some accessibility for those that never had a chance to check out the franchise, or only watched a select few. Disney+ is the new home for Marvel, especially how it marketed itself with the Netflix series addition, and will help those that want an easy way to watch the films and series they may otherwise have missed out on.
