  • New ‘Ms. Marvel’ Promo Art Offers loser Look at Red Dagger’s Design

New ‘Ms. Marvel’ Promo Art Offers loser Look at Red Dagger’s Design

While we’re focused on that amazing fifth episode of Moon Knight, it still looks like promo art has found its way online for Ms. Marvel to add a little extra to the Marvel day. As shared by @CineGeekNews, some more promo art continues to put the focus on our titular hero Kamala Khan with a great visual inspired by the comics. There are also her drawings of Captain Marvel, Wasp, and Valkyrie that we saw in the initial trailer. Yet, there is one that stands out the most, it’s our first look at the MCU’s Red Dagger.

Aramis Knight joined the Disney+ series as the vigilante known as Red Dagger and we did get a tease of his look in the series during the first trailer, but it was a bit difficult to fully make out. Luckily, the new promo art not only confirms he’ll retain his superhero name but offers our best look at his design with the iconic red scarf and even his iconic daggers.

His design is quite faithful to the version we saw in the comics. We don’t know if his story will also follow a similar beat to the storyline that inspires the Disney+ series. They will definitely make some changes if her new abilities are anything to go by, but they are seemingly trying to keep the original spirit of the character alive. She’s a teenager and will probably struggle quite a bit with her new role, especially as she also has to somehow keep up with her school work and home responsibilities.

  • Warner Bros. Teases ‘Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom’ at CinemaCon

Warner Bros. Teases ‘Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom’ at CinemaCon

CinemaCon is the place for studios to showcase their tentpole releases and plans for the future. Even if a project isn’t far into production, they sometimes share some footage or tease what they are working on, such as Sony showing Kraven the Hunter footage. So, it’s not entirely surprising then that Warner Bros. Discovery teased some footage from the upcoming Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.

The footage Warner Bros. debuted at CinemaCon showed Jason Momoa‘s Aquaman/Arthur working with Orm to try and take down Black Manta. In the sequel, Black Manta is said to be leading an army of sorts and is far more powerful. The two brothers will need to work together to try and defeat Manta, so we’ll see more of their relationship explored. This being an Aquaman film, though, there are plenty of new ships and robots, too, for fans to enjoy.

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom will hit theaters on March 17, 2023.

Warner Bros. Teases ‘The Flash’ During CinemaCon

Warner Bros. Discovery has been shaking up the industry and there have been many questions about what we might expect from the future of its DC Slate. Still, there are quite a few films in development and CinemaCon is the perfect place to tease what the future has in store. While delayed, one of the biggest releases is The Flash which will also redefine the DC Extended Universe moving forward.

Unsurprisingly, the studio opted to focus on Michael Keaton’s return as Batman in the forthcoming film. The clip from the film saw Keaton’s Batman sporting multiple Batman suits, while also teasing his batmobile. “You wanna get nuts? Let’s get nuts.”

The biggest news, however, is that Michael Shannon is returning as Zod in The Flash. Shannon was last seen as Zod in Man of Steel, which saw Henry Cavill‘s Superman controversially snap Zod’s neck in the film. Since then, remembers have circulated of Zod’s possible return, but this marks the first official confirmation of his return to the DC Extended Universe.

  • Oscar Isaac Continues to Tease Jake Lockley’s Arrival in ‘Moon Knight’

Oscar Isaac Continues to Tease Jake Lockley’s Arrival in ‘Moon Knight’

Ever since the first episode released of Moon Knight, we’ve been seeing many hints that a third personality is hiding. Steven and Marc have been our main focus so far, but the fourth episode of the Disney+ series gave us these yet with a mysterious sarcophagus potentially including the third personality, Jake Lockley. Oscar Isaac has been having fun with the idea and has been teasing his eventual arrival.

In a new interview with ComicBook.com, the actor continues to tease the personality and teases that perhaps the final two episodes might shed light on what exactly is going on with the constant teasing and when we might finally get the reveal of Jake Lockley and why he’s been hidden for so long.

I’d say that you’re right. That it’s definitely things are pointing towards the idea that it’s not just Steven and Marc in that system, that there’s possibly others. Yeah, that’s something that we discussed. Two episodes left to find out.

    Oscar Isaac

While he doesn’t confirm anything, it does seem likely that we’ll meet him at some point in the Disney+ series. With Marc currently stuck in the asylum–or his mind–the reveal can’t be too far off. It’ll be interesting to see how Moon Knight handles his introduction and if he might even tie into previous events, as there are enough hints that he has a role of some kind in this story. The only question remains after that. Will we get Oscar Isaac rocking that iconic moustache too?

  • BREAKING: ‘Fast X’ Production on Hold Indefinitely as Justin Lin Exits Project

BREAKING: ‘Fast X’ Production on Hold Indefinitely as Justin Lin Exits Project

Here’s rather shocking news, but it looks like Justin Lin has exited the upcoming tenth Fast and Furious entry, titled Fast X. He is stepping down as director shortly after the project started production. While he will remain as a producer, it seems that he has left the project due to creative differences. He has published a statement on leaving the project:

With the support of Universal, I have made the difficult decision to step back as director of FAST X, while remaining with the project as a producer. Over 10 years and five films, we have been able to shoot the best actors, the best stunts, and the best damn car chases. On a personal note, as the child of Asian immigrants, I am proud of helping to build the most diverse franchise in movie history. I will forever be grateful to the amazing cast, crew and studio for their support, and for welcoming me into the FAST family.

    Justin Lin

It’s certainly heavy that he swiftly left the project just as it started. Sadly, we may never find out what exactly led to the creative differences, especially as he was also set to direct the eleventh and final entry in the Fast Saga. According to Hollywood Reporter’s Borys Kit, it seems that they are considering David Leitch and F. Gary Gray as replacements.

For now, it seems unclear if the film will manage to make its May 19th release next year, as the search for a new director begins. It seems that Lin isn’t leaving the project with bad blood, but something must’ve led the director to decide that he no longer wants to direct the film. We’ll see if they might already have a replacement in mind in the near future.

  • Oscar Isaac Tried to Sneak in a Meme and the MCU’s First F-Bomb in ‘Moon Knight’

Oscar Isaac Tried to Sneak in a Meme and the MCU’s First F-Bomb in ‘Moon Knight’

Oscar Isaac has been quite excited with his first venture into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as he’s been sharing the fun he’s had bringing Moon Knight to life. It seems that he also tried to be a bit sneaky, such as getting a meme into the series. Not only that, but he also wanted to sneak an f-bomb, which would’ve been the MCU’s first. He goes on to share the story with ScreenRant, where he highlights that:

My brother and I, there’s this meme that we think is really, really funny. It’s this English kid that’s got a tie on his head. He’s rapping, and then just a punch comes out of nowhere and punches him and he goes, “Oh, f**k, I can’t believe you’ve done this!” A lot of people know what I’m talking about. And so I was like, “We’ve got to find an opportunity to do that.”

    Oscar Isaac

They were certainly all-in to bring it to life, as he did quite a few takes with the f-bomb being dropped. Sadly though, it seems that Disney’s censors for their family-friendly streaming service wouldn’t quite let that through.

And this seemed like the perfect time to do it. So I did it. I did a lot of takes where I actually say, “Oh, f**k” and I thought, in Disney, because it’s TV or whatever, that you get one F-bomb. But ultimately, not even one. We don’t even get the one, so we had to change it. But basically, that is just my homage to that.

    Oscar Isaac

While it’s a shame that they couldn’t get it in, it’s no surprise. The show is still pushing the PG-13 rating to its limit but we don’t know the exact regulations. One f-bomb is allowed per film release and streaming services do have their own regulations. We’ll probably see more adult content, especially with Deadpool becoming the MCU’s first R-rated project moving forward. Perhaps Moon Knight gets a chance at a higher rating and Isaac can drop his f-bomb.

  • Leaked ‘Marvel’s Avengers’ Audio Tease She-Hulk, Captain Marvel, and Winter Soldier

Leaked ‘Marvel’s Avengers’ Audio Tease She-Hulk, Captain Marvel, and Winter Soldier

It’s been a while since we got a leak from Marvel’s Avengers that teased any of the upcoming character additions. Just recently, we learned that they are going to add Jane Foster’s Mighty Thor as a playable character. Yet, many wondered what happened to the teases of She-Hulk, who was seemingly hinted at as the next major addition for some time. Leaker @mmmmmmmmiller has once again shared some new audio files through Vocaroo that include audio recordings for the game’s NPCs and playable characters. What makes these stand out is that they include various characters that have been hinted to become playable at some point.

The first recording includes the reference to She-Hulk with even a brief “Ms. Walters” mentioned in the audio file. These characters also reference Captain Marvel as “Captain Danvers” hinting at Carol Danvers being the version of the character getting added to the game. They also reference “Mr. Barnes” as the Winter Soldier, which also adds further hints that we’ll get Bucky Barnes added as a potential playable character. There’s also some audio featuring Kate Bishop’s voice actress calling out for all three characters, which is seemingly prepared for when they are knocked out.

Miller has also hinted at the Cloning Lab’s making a potential return, which was something we haven’t heard much about for quite some time. They are generally shifting towards a different release concept with less of an ongoing roadmap but rather building up from one patch to the next. It’s going to be an adjustment for players, but they are currently working on their plans beyond 2022. So, it seems we may have gotten a hint at what those plans just might be.

  • First CinemaCon Footage Description of Sony’s ‘Kraven the Hunter’ Finds its Way Online

First CinemaCon Footage Description of Sony’s ‘Kraven the Hunter’ Finds its Way Online

It looks like Sony did have something special for visitors of CinemaCon, as Sean O’Connel shared some details on footage that was shown from their upcoming Spider-Man spinoff film, Kraven the Hunter. Even though it just recently started production it seems they already had a little teaser ready for visitors. He shared it on his @WGreatPowerBook Twitter profile on a book covering Sony’s adaptations of the franchise.

In his Twitter post, he highlights that it was a rather brief sizzle real showing Aaron Taylor-Johnson hanging on to a car, which was first revealed in leaked set photos not too long ago. It seems that they also showed the new logo, but he seems to believe they might release something online. For now, we’ll have to wait and see if that’ll get released.

We’ll see if they actually will share anything from the project online, but it seems too early to tease anything. The only thing they might do is share the first logo for the project, similar to getting the Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse logo after they retitled the project. Still, it seems they are certainly moving full force with the project.

Kraven the Hunter is quite an interesting project, as it’s unclear how exactly they are building up their anti-Spider-Man team out of Morbius‘ post-credit sequence. He very likely won’t have a role in this film. So, it makes you wonder how they are trying to set up an anti-hero version of the Sinister Six that is still out to take down the webhead.

  • ‘X-Men ’97’ Head Writer On Keeping the Spirit of the Original Series Alive

‘X-Men ’97’ Head Writer On Keeping the Spirit of the Original Series Alive

While most of our focus remains on the many live-action projects from Marvel Studios, we also have some exciting animated offerings on the horizon. While we know very little about the Marvel Zombies adaptation, the X-Men ’97 adaptation is quite exciting for those that grew up with the original animated series from the 90s. Adapting such a cult classic, head writer Beau DeMayo and his team have quite the challenge ahead of them.

In an interview with The Direct’s Russ Milheim, the series head writer talked about their approach to bringing the original to life while also talking about what elements they want to carry over from the original. The core of the potential lies in “honoring that earnestness” and keeping the emotional core of that original story.

And so I think the challenge to me was honoring that earnestness, that emotional sincerity in the show where it wasn’t just about the big bad of the day. That was almost, in some cases, an afterthought. It was really about the relationship of this found family, and how they cared about each other and had disagreements. And I always just come back whenever we’re talking in the writer’s room, or we’re talking to the directors, it’s just like, we have to have earnest emotion in every scene. Cause I really do think that was the secret sauce to the original series.

    Beau DeMayo

He goes on to highlight that they aren’t approaching the project to “improve” upon the original. Rather, they have a simple message that truly reflects what the X-Men have always stood for in the comics.

And so, it is more a question of, what does that show look like knowing what we know now? And how it looks like, in today’s world, with everything that has changed, and everything that hasn’t changed, sadly—in our world.

    Beau DeMayo

It certainly sounds like the team is definitely sticking to what made the original so iconic. So, we’ll get more than just the iconic opening but the same heart that made the original so memorable. With most of the cast also returning, it does add that special feeling once we get our first look at what this animated continuation has to offer.

  • Warner Bros. Discovery No Longer Developing Scripted Programming for TBS and TNT

Warner Bros. Discovery No Longer Developing Scripted Programming for TBS and TNT

The moment Warner Bros. Discovery was finalized, we expected quite a few changes from their usual business. Yet, this might be quite the big change removing forward, as they are no longer developing scripted programming for TBS and TNT moving forward. CEO David Zaslav promises that they will save $3 billion in costs with the merger. As such, these cable channels will no longer produce any scripted shows moving forward but it’s unclear what exactly will happen to the productions.

To be fair, TNT and TBS have already dialed down their productions over the last few years. So, this seems like it was potentially in the cards all along. Discovery’s merger was just the perfect timing to fully move into this development. Currently, TBS’ remaining shows include Miracle Workers, The Last OG, Chad, and American Dad. It seems that shows that are already renewed will remain, but it’s unclear if renewals beyond that will move these shows to other productions, as American Dad was renewed for two seasons back in 2021.

TNT only has two shows left which are Animal Kingdom and Snowpiercer. The former has already eyeing an end with its upcoming sixth season this year in June while the latter was just renewed for a fourth ahead of its Season 3 premiere. The new team forming around Warner Bros. Discovery has not been mincing any words on past business decisions and teased that “2022 will undoubtedly be a messy year.”
