‘Zack Snyders Justice League’ Latest Trailer Adds Some New Scenes

The fabled Snyder Cut of Justice League has become one of the most infamous and interesting topics in the entertainment world to date. After a 3-year campaign and millions of supporters around the world, Warner Bros had finally decided to move forward with the project. Back in May, it was confirmed by Zack Snyder and Henry Cavill during the Man Of Steel anniversary live stream. The cut was indeed coming and was due to release sometime in 2021.

We then got a new look at Zack Snyders Justice League back in August at the DC Fandome event, where the first official trailer made its debut. Recently the trailer got taken down but turned out to be caused by a rights issue with the Cohen estate. Snyder took to Vero today to reveal the newest look at the film, a black and white trailer similar to that of the one we saw back in August. Yet, this time with a few extra tidbits thrown into the mix. Zack Snyders Justice Lague is set to feature the return of actors who were cut from the original film, such as Ray PorterWillem DafoeKiersey KlemonsOrion Lee, and Karen Bryson.

Latino Led ‘Wonder Girl’ Series In the Works at CW

With Arrow out the door and Supergirl soon to follow, the ranks of the Arrowverse seemingly began to dwindle. With the arrival of Superman and Lois and the recent announcement of the Painkiller series, which starts through a backdoor pilot on Black Lightning, it seems the CW’s world of heroes won’t be going anywhere anytime soon. Another hero will be joining the ranks of the CW with the announcement of Wonder Girl. This announcement will mark the first Latino superhero title for DC’s TV expansion.

The show will follow Yara Flor, the daughter of an Amazon warrior and a Brazilian River Goddess. The series is helmed by Dailyn Rodriguez, who is working alongside Greg Berlanti. She has recently been co-running Queen of the South for two seasons. It will become another show under the expansive umbrella of Berlanti Productions, joining shows like TitansDoom PatrolLegends of TomorrowBlack Lightning, and The Flash.

Yara Flor has yet to make her debut in comics but is set to debut in the upcoming DC Future State event. Flor has been the breakout character since the announcement, as she drummed up a lot of attention. Many fans were already excited to find out her origins just based on her initial designs and reveal. She will also be the focus of her own comic series written by Joëlle Jones. The character’s popularity to get a show before her comic debut is quite the move by DC and CW. It just proves how strong a concept can be, especially as it will help cement the character in the public concious before her debut.

  • Satan Claims ‘Constantine’ Sequel is in the Works

Satan Claims ‘Constantine’ Sequel is in the Works

In 2005 actor Keanu Reeves made his debut as the master of the occult, John Constantine in an R-rated horror/fantasy thriller that saw the demonologist take on the likes of satan himself. The film featured a star-studded lineup with the likes of Tilda Swinton, Shia Labeouf, Rachel Weisz, Peter Stormare, and was directed by Francis Lawrence. Since then talk has been quite on the film, but since the launch of the HBO Max streaming service made the film more available for many, talk of the film has become more prominent with many finding the projected to have aged quite well over the past 13 years.

Now it seems there might be some movement on the project, actor Peter Stormare recently took to Instagram where he shared an image that displayed his depiction of the devil from the film in which he captioned “Sequel In The Works”. Now with stuff like this, you have to remember actors do not greenlight projects and neither do creatives behind them, but with a renewed interest in the original film having captivated many conversations over social media the past few months it wouldn’t be a completely crazy thing to see the studio have a renewed interest in the project.

As of right now, this is the only thing we’ve heard on the matter and it’s unclear if Reeves would be involved at all, as he has become quite the commodity in Hollywood these days. Earlier this year it was reported that JJ Abrams, along with his production company Bad Robot, would be developing projects based on the characters within the Justice League Dark such as Swamp Thing, Zatanna, Deadman, Etrigan, and of course, John Constantine. A few months back it was reported that Abrams was in the development of a new Constantine film and the studio was potentially courting Reeves to return to the project. The type of return wouldn’t be that unprecedented with many veteran DC actors having made returns as their past characters such as Brandon Routh, Kevin Conroy, and most recently Michael Keaton in the solo Flash film.

‘Peacemaker’ Expands Cast As Production Ramps Up

Back in September, James Gunn confirmed that he had begun work on a spin-off series of his highly anticipated upcoming film The Suicide Squad. It will focus solely on the character of Peacemaker, who is played by WWE wrestler and film star John Cena. The series is a prequel and gives us a look into the origin of the man, whose quest for peace knows no boundaries. Production on the show is going to begin early next year. Gunn already has made his way to Canada to start his two-week quarantine before the production begins.

We’ve known for a while that John Cena would be reprising his role as the titular character. He will be joined by Steve Agee, who’d be reprising one of his two roles from the upcoming film, John Economos, the warden of Belle Reve. Now The Hollywood Reporter reported several additions to the films’ cast with Danielle Brooks set to play Leota Adebayo, Robert Patrick as Auggie Smith, Chris Conrad as Adrian Chase a.k.a. • ‘Umbrella Academy’ Renewed for Season 3 at Netflix

‘Umbrella Academy’ Renewed for Season 3 at Netflix

The second season of Netflix’s hit show Umbrella Academy, based on the comics by Singer/Songwriter Gerard Way, released its second season in late July and received critical praise for approving upon much of what was already great within the first season. For a while, many have wondered if the show was to come back for a third season and the long-term radio silence from Netflix didn’t bode well considering their track record this year.

It’s now being reported the show will indeed return for a third season on the popular streaming service. The second season finale found the team sent back to the present day after being trapped in the 60s for over a year. After escaping the apocalypse, they returned to find the timeline altered by their actions causing the Umbrella Academy to cease to exist with the new and mysterious Sparrow Academy in their place. With the reveal of the time altered Sparrow Academy at the end of the shows previous season, it wouldn’t be much of a far cry to assume that they’ll be adapted the Hotel Oblivion storyline, a fairly recent addition to the source material, having been released only in June of 2019.

The third season will begin production in February, will consist of 10-hour long episodes and will see the return of stars Ellen Page, Tom Hopper, Justin H. Min, Aidan Gallagher, Ritu Arya, David Casteneda, Emmy-Raver-Lampman and Robert Sheehan.

  • Leaked First Look at Tyler Hoechlin’s New Superman Suit

Leaked First Look at Tyler Hoechlin’s New Superman Suit

Since his first appearance on Supergirl, Tyler Hoechlin’s Clark Kent has sported the same suit. There was one exception, as he wore a black variant in the Elseworlds crossover, but that was technically Doctor Destiny pretending to be Clark via the Book of Destiny. Never the less, he was bound for an upgrade sooner or later. Now, the first season of Superman and Lois is set to hit the CW early next year as the newest addition to the Arrowverse, joining shows like BatwomanFlashStargirl, and Black Lightning.

While they aren’t the best, new set photos have given us our first look at what Hoechlin’s new suit will look like and it already seems to be a vast improvement on the first with a much more streamlined look with the removal of the infamous cape clips a new belt, new red boots, and what looks to be a much brighter emblem on his chest. The look is highly reminiscent of the look Superman first sported back in 2016 at the dawn of the current DC storyline, Rebirth.

Superman and Lois is set to take flight on February 23rd. It will feature the return of Tyler Hoechlin’s Man of Steel and Bitsie Tulloch’s Lois Lane as the couple adjusts to parenthood on a post-crisis Earth-Prime, where Clark will have to balance being a superhero and a father.

  • Ysa Penarejo Seemingly Playing Green Lantern Jade in ‘Stargirl’

Ysa Penarejo Seemingly Playing Green Lantern Jade in ‘Stargirl’

The first season for Stargirl was a smash hit on both DC Universe and The CW. The show has now found a permanent home on the CW with its second season. With the shows focus on honoring the legacy of the Justice Society of America, we were bound to be seeing more heroes join the ranks of the team. We would see a new generation take on the mantle of the fallen heroes.

Last week we got the news that Nick Taraby and Jonathan Cake would be joining the cast for the second season as the main antagonist Eclipso and Shade. In addition, there was a tidbit that Ysa Penarejo had joined the cast. Though, who Penarejo would end up playing was a mystery at the time. Early on, there was speculation that she would be playing the role of Jade, the newest recruit to Courtney’s new generation of heroes. This news has seems now to be confirmed due to a recent Instagram story uploaded by Wildcat actress, Yvette Montreal. In the image, we can clearly see Penarejo wearing the Starheart, Alan Scott’s iconic Green Lantern ring.

For those that don’t know, Jade is the daughter of Alan Scott and the supervillain Rose Canton. She is also the twin sister of Todd Rice, who goes by Obsidian. Both were given up for adoption and split up by Rose fearing, that she would harm them. Jade would go on to find her brother, and they would become founding members of the team Infinity Inc. after being rejected by the JSA. Jade and Obsidian both gained their abilities from their father’s prolonged exposure to the Starheart, which gave Jade the ability to conjure green energy and shape it into constructs. Not just that, she also has her mother’s ability to manipulate plants. With Jade seemingly set to join the show, her twin brother Obsidian cannot be too far behind.

  • RUMOR: ‘Green Lantern’ to Feature Original Black Female Lantern

RUMOR: ‘Green Lantern’ to Feature Original Black Female Lantern

Just recently, we received the long-awaited news that the HBO Max Green Lantern series would be officially moving forward. It got a full season green light with Seth Grahame-Smith, and Marc Guggenheim set as showrunners. Alongside this news, it was confirmed that the show features a large cast of characters. The Green Lantern Corp. will include Guy Gardner, Jessica Cruz, Simon Baz, Kilowog, and Alan Scott. The show will take place throughout multiple decades of history. It seems the Lanterns will be getting a new face from Sector-2814 to aid in the protection of the galaxy.

The Direct is reporting that that show features an original character that’ll partner up with Guy Gardner. Her description states that she is a black female lantern named Bree Jarta. It also states that she is an equal part of alien and human. The character is said to have grown up within an advanced alien society on a planet deep in space. She will be extremely determined to uphold the honor and values of the Lantern Corps to stay true to the duty of holding the ring.

Many fans might assume that this is an adaptation of the newest Lantern, who got introduced in the Far Sector comics from DC’s Young Animal library. This storyline features Jo Mullein, an ex-cop, and vet who becomes a lantern. She is part of a sector so far from Oa that she calls it the Far Sector. It would be a shame not to adapt to this character, especially if you consider the character’s rise in popularity. Also, the unique situation in which she finds herself on a distant planet could lend itself to an interesting

Green Lantern currently has no release date. Casting hasn’t started yet, but with work behind the scenes seemingly moving along, we can expect some more news in the future.

  • First Look at Javicia Leslie’s New Batwoman Suit

First Look at Javicia Leslie’s New Batwoman Suit

It still was quite shocking when Ruby Rose decided to leave Batwoman after only one season. The actress decided her time on the show had come to an end, which led to the casting of our new Batwoman, Javicia Leslie. With production on the shows, second season recently picking up in Vancouver, set photos began to leak of Leslie‘s Ryan Wilder sporting Rose‘s original Batsuit. Yet, we suddenly had another set photo tease what might potentially be a new Batsuit for the next generation of heroes. It also included a new look at the show’s version of the Batmobile. Now, we got an official look at the suit we got teased in the blurry behind-the-scenes images.

The suit hasn’t been altered all that much with Wilder shedding the red wig that Kate had sewn into her cowl as a means for disguising herself. Leslie lets her natural hair flow with a bit of a red dye job towards the bottom. It also includes more red, as the new suit adds a set of red bracers to her forearms. It even looks like they raised the collar around her neck as a pseudo chin strap. While the changes seem minor, they allow Leslie to stand out and add her own flourishes to the role. We haven’t met her character, Ryan Wilder, in the show as of now, but she is set to make her comic book debut in Batgirl #50 set for release this week. It will be exciting to see how they will introduce her in the upcoming season, and which episode will showcase the new suit.
