  • How Deadpool Could Enter the Marvel Cinematic Universe

How Deadpool Could Enter the Marvel Cinematic Universe

After many rumors circulated on the web, we finally got the official word that Marvel Studios is moving forward with Deadpool 3. Now, the news hit that they have hired the Molyneux Sisters to write the upcoming threequel. Wendy Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux-Loeglin are well-known for their work on Bob’s Burgers, as well as the Fox series The Great North. The great thing is, Marvel Studios is involved in the project, and it isn’t by 20th Century. So, the gates have opened for the iconic Merc with a Mouth to enter the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Now, the question remains: how will he be introduced into the MCU?

It doesn’t look like this will be a reboot. The film is called Deadpool 3, so it will take place shortly after the second. Wade Wilson has played around with continuity in his films, such as the X-Men showing up that shouldn’t be around during his time. He even references that the whole timeline makes no sense, especially after X-Men: Days of Future Past. So, in a way, Wilson is quite flexible and doesn’t care how or where he shows up. I mean, he is known for breaking the fourth wall frequently, so he might be the easiest to add to the franchise’s roster. He probably would only allow it if his beloved Colossus joins, so that may be a sticking point.

The ending of the second film could handwave away how Deadpool lands in the MCU. The last time we saw him, he used Cable’s time travel technology to save Vanessa. Yet, he went a few steps too far and kept alternating history. At one point, he lands in the real world and kills Ryan Reynolds before he can read the Green Lantern script. Hell, he even kills off the terrible Deadpool version that we saw during X-Men Origins: Wolverine. So, he has been breaking the barriers between dimensions throughout this small trip. Of course, it was mainly for comedic effect, but at the time it opened up a lot of questions of how it would tie into the third film. Now that the character might be joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe, they have the best way to introduce his transition.

WandaVision will end up opening up the MCU to the multiverse, which will be the main focus of the Doctor Strange sequel. So, Deadpool ended up screwing up his timeline so badly that Strange pulls him out, and he ends up destroying the device. He briefly is stuck with the chatty mercenary, who might even add a few jabs at Benedict Cumberbatch‘s past roles, such as asking if he should call him Sherlock. At one point, their paths cross. At the end of the film, if Strange has fixed the multiverse tear, he fuses aspects of other dimensions into our own. He takes it easy in the Sanctum Sanctorum before suddenly hearing a familiar voice calling out to him. Yes, in his work to finally fix the multiverse, he also brought Deadpool and his gang into the mainline Marvel Cinematic Universe. Hopefully, we get a short cameo by Kevin Feige at some point regretting the addition.

  • Empire Reveals New ‘WandaVision’ Covers

    Empire Reveals New ‘WandaVision’ Covers

We still have about two months to go until WandaVision is finally released. Marvel Studios’ first Disney+ series will focus on the suburban life of Wanda and Vision. We still know very little about what would turn the small town of Westview into a gateway to an alternative dimension. Whatever may be the reason, it will be quite interesting to see Marvel Studios play around with classic sitcom clichés as both slowly unravel what is happening around them. Now that the series has a premiere date, it means that Marvel and Disney can start promoting the show more. Empire has an exclusive story coming for the show and shared it with two amazing looking covers.

I really have to say that the cover by Max Löffler looks amazing. It also may be quite a big tease for what we can expect in the story. Vision was killed by Thanos and was just an empty husk. Now, she is trying to piece him back together so he can be brought back to life. Her action has unleashed chaos upon the small suburban area, which could be the cause of some external forces playing with her abilities for personal gain. Our very own Edward Rose created a theory around the latest teaser, which you can check out right here. We are so close to finally seeing something MCU related, especially now that Black Widow was delayed by an entire year. This Disney+ show will start a brand new era for the franchise, so we will see just how crazy the show truly will go once the strange couple is stuck in a crazy alternative dimension.

  • Matt Lintz Cast as Bruno Carrelli in ‘Ms. Marvel’

Matt Lintz Cast as Bruno Carrelli in ‘Ms. Marvel’

Today we were graced with our first look at Ms.Marvel, one of many Marvel Studios shows coming to Disney Plus. Ms.Marvel will follow Kamala Khan, played by newcomer Iman Vellani, as she comes into her own as a hero, inspired by the heroic feats of Captain Marvel. After acquiring fantastic abilities of elasticity, Kamala begins her journey to becoming one of the newest heroes of the MCU in a post-Endgame world.

Today’s photos not only gave us our first look at Vellani as Kamala but also of actor Matt Lintz (The Walking Dead, The Alienist). Given the familiarity of these two in the photos, Lintz is quite obviously playing the role of Bruno Carrelli, friend and trusted confidant of Kamala Kahn. Carrelli, a humble employee of Circle Q, is one of the only people to know the secret of Kamala’s alter ego as well as possessing a genius-level IQ of 170, serving as an asset to Kamala while she’s out fighting crime.

Ms.Marvel currently has no release date but is set to stream exclusively on the Disney Plus streaming service with episodes directed by Adil El Arbi, Bilall Fallah, Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, and Meera Menon.

  • ‘MS. MARVEL’: Shedding Some Light on Today’s Set Pictures.

‘MS. MARVEL’: Shedding Some Light on Today’s Set Pictures.

We finally got our first look at Iman Vellani in character as Kamala Khan through some set pictures that seem to cover different scenes from the upcoming Ms. Marvel Disney+ show.

In these pictures, we get to see Kamala riding a bike, her go-to mode of transportation, while displaying her Carol Danvers love by wearing a Captain Marvel helmet. But the more interesting set is the one where we see her at night, with a friend (most likely Bruno Carrelli, that ended up being the only of Kamala’s friends that knew of her Ms. Marvel secret identity), on what should be her parent’s house doorstep.

The first thing we notice is that both are wearing costumes. Kamala a Captain Marvel one, while Bruno looks an awful lot like Bruce Banner. The helmet he is seen wearing seems a bit out of character, but since Kamala also has her’s attached to her backpack, the explanation should be a simple one: They both were out with their bikes. And why would two highschool kids be out at night? The costumes seem to indicate that this scene should be set during Halloween which makes them being out understandable – and could we be looking at a Halloween 2021 release date? – and it also takes us to a cool reference from Ms. Marvel #1 from 2014.

The Halloween perspective is interesting. It helps to immediately set up Kamala’s personality, how she loves Carol, and also makes her connection to Bruno an easy one to understand – they both love the Avengers -. It also gives Kamala a reason to stay up late, breaking the curfew her strict parents usually impose on her.

And that’s what we see Bruno helping her with on the following set pictures. She’s trying to get to her room through her window so as not to compromise herself by using the front door. Could this be the night where she gets her powers? In the comics the night she gets exposed to the Terrigen Mist, which gives her polymorphic powers, she was alone. She had left Bruno behind and got home looking like Captain Marvel as she was still getting used to her powers. So, unless her powers now only surface overnight, like in 2002’s Spider-Man, these shots should be from an earlier night, that might set up the night she gains her powers. Kamala always tried to respect what her parents asked of her, but once she broke curfew there was little stopping her from doing it again. So maybe an honest mistake on Halloween is what made her stay out late later or, as she began her journey as Ms. Marvel.

  • ‘Ms. Marvel’: First Look at the Circle Q

‘Ms. Marvel’: First Look at the Circle Q

Today has been quite the day for fans of Kamala Khan. We’ve gotten our first look at Iman Vellani as the polymorphic Inhuman and gotten a great look at what appears to be a Halloween costume paying tribute to her idol, Carol Danvers. Now, we have our first look at her unofficial headquarters: the Circle Q!

The Circle Q is a Jersey City convenience store where Kamala’s best friend, Bruno Carrelli, works and where she spends a great deal of time. Of particular interest to the beginning of production on Ms. Marvel, it is also the scene of one of Kamala’s first heroic acts after she receives her powers following the widespread release of the Terrigen Mist.

Of note and as first reported here, Circle Q is also the name of the production company created for the project, which is operating under the working title “Jersey.”

  • ‘Ms. Marvel’ BTS Set Photos Reveal Kamala Khan’s Inner Fangirl

‘Ms. Marvel’ BTS Set Photos Reveal Kamala Khan’s Inner Fangirl

Just today, we got our first look at Iman Vellani as the young hero Kamala Khan. Marvel Studios just recently started shooting the brand new Disney+ series, so finally, we got a look at the show. Well, it looks like that is not all. It seems that the sequence was earlier in the day for a Halloween-themed episode. Some more set pictures got released that show young Kamala fully decked out in probably the best Captain Marvel costume I’ve ever seen. She comes fully equipped with a light-up Mohawk so you know for sure who she is a fan of the iconic character.

Check out the photos at Just Jared.

Remember the pictures of people covering costumes in the last article? Well, it looks like those might’ve been them preparing for this specific stunt. She is climbing on the exact same rooftop that we saw earlier. She also has her bicycle helmet on her backpack, so we know this might be the same day. Her friend, who looks like it could be Mitchell Hope, is also in costume as Bruce Banner. He is still wearing his bicycle helmet from earlier yet the lights seem to be a new addition.

There is also the question of why she seems to be breaking into someone’s house. She might be visiting her friend Nakia, who didn’t join them on Halloween, or she just really wants to prank someone for not sharing candy with them. Of course, it could also be a rebellious Kamala trying to go out for Halloween against her families’ wishes. No matter what, this costume is genius as it is a nice tribute to the comics when Kamala accidentally turned into Carol Danvers after her powers activated. Plus, it just reconfirms that she is a huge fan of the character even in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. I really hope we get some more showcases of these shows in the near future as we wait for WandaVision to finally kick-off the MCU’s fourth phase.

  • First Look at Kamala Khan on ‘Ms. Marvel’ Set

First Look at Kamala Khan on ‘Ms. Marvel’ Set

Marvel Studios is finally starting the production on their various Disney+ projects. WandaVision will get released in January and start the next phase. We are still waiting on any news regarding Falcon and the Winter Soldier‘s release, but to tie us over until then, we finally got our first look at Iman Vellani on the set of Ms. Marvel that just recently entered production. It isn’t an action sequence, but we do get some interesting tidbits from her outfit. You can check out the images by clicking here to see them on Just Jared.

The biggest reveal is that Ms. Marvel will continue to be a massive Captain Marvel fan even in her live-action adaptation. Carol hasn’t been a well-known hero for long in the MCU, as she was off in space. Yet, we did get a tease that she may have been around on earth after the events of Avengers: Infinity War. Danvers may have supported the Avengers after the snap to ensure that those that were left behind remained safe. It looks like she has become a well-known hero to have her merchandise. If you take a closer look at Kamala’s helmet and jacket you can recognize some familiar visuals. It is also a cute addition that she has her initials on the helmet.

The pictures also include two people hiding what they are wearing. It is rather interesting, as this is commonly used to hide costumes from the comics. Perhaps she is being visited by Kree that realized her potential to become an Inhuman. Even better would be if they were part of Attilan that are viewing people that have the potential to join them. It could be building up to the MCU’s version of the Terrigen Bomb that would change New Jersey.

  • Theory Thursday: Breaking Down the Latest ‘WANDAVISION’ Teaser

Theory Thursday: Breaking Down the Latest ‘WANDAVISION’ Teaser

Breaking out that 20/20 Vision for 2021.

After months of speculation, Marvel Studios finally revealed the release date for the upcoming Disney+ series; WandaVision. Along with that release date announcement, came a short teaser:

Now at first glance, this looks like a normal moving poster or just a small teaser that you’d see on their Instagram stories just to promote the show. But we all know Marvel Studios better than that. Sometimes, they’ve been known in the past to sneak some secrets or teases here and there. So, let’s take a look at this small teaser for a moment and notice what we see.

    SHOT 1: 1960s

The teaser opens up with a pretty straightforward shot. The scene is in black and white and it showcases Wanda and Vision in their 60s phase. This portion of the show is the one that we’ve seen the most of in teasers. It’s also been the segment of the show that we know more details about. We know it’s inspired by comedy classics from the ’60s like The Dick Van Dyke Show, Bewitched, The Twilight Zone, and I Love Lucy. We also know that it was filmed in front of a live studio audience. And it been the source of much of WandaVision’s promotional materials.

    SHOT 2: 1970s

The next shot fast forwards to the next decade which would be the 1970s. While we know little about this era in particular, we know that at some point during this portion of the show we might see Wanda’s pregnancy start here and develop further along during this specific episode. We expect this era might be inspired by The Brady Bunch & All in the Family.

    SHOT 3: 1980s

We eventually transition to the 1980s, where we see a standard 80s double knob TV, the color is finally present in the entirety of the room and the potted plant on the left changed. We know little about this era for the show but I predict this might be the part of the show where Wanda’s pregnancy is near her final trimester and she may give birth by the time we end our 80s tribute. I envision this era taking inspiration from Happy Days & The Golden Girls.

    SHOT 4: 1990s

The 1990s is the other era that’s been heavily teased in the teasers. We know from this era that we’re going to see an episode centered around Halloween. We also expect the twins to have been born by this point in the series. This is also the segment in the series where i expect things might start to unravel for our two main heroes. I am definitely sensing a heavy reference of Full House for this episode in particular.

SHOT 5: MULTIPLE ERAS (HIDDEN DETAILS)

This is more of a “blink and you’ll miss it moment” in the teaser, where the TV starts spiraling out of control between images and it showcases all the eras in the TV that we had already seen previously, except 2 shots in particular. The one on the left looks to be from the 90s, when Wanda and Vision’s kid have already been born and the one on the right bears a resemblance to when Wanda and Vision start seeing the world change around them from black and white to color.

You also take notice of a couple of things in those shots. Primarily, when the 90s era tries to go to the next era, as we mentioned before, the TV starts spiraling out of control between images and it showcases all the eras in the TV that we had already seen previously. But while it’s spiraling out of control, you notice a couple of key details in the surroundings that start to fade in, but are immediately pushed back and kept hidden. So, let’s look closer at the image and look at the things that stand out.

    You’ve got:

    • The Victorian Wallpaper and Rose Painting: That Victorian wallpaper and Rose painting resembles the wallpaper and painting from the image above on the right.  The one where Wanda and Vision start seeing the world change around them from black and white to color.

    • The weird lamp dangling above the TV: Notice that weird, teardrop lamp on top of the TV? Interesting lighting choice. Wanda Maximoff in particular has been known to have strange-looking lamps, particularly we can see them during the 1960s portion of the show, where we have a middle-eastern style lamp next to the front door. These styles of lamps also used to decorate Wanda’s room back in the Avengers Complex in Captain America: Civil War (2016). Fun detail no?

    SHOT 6: FINAL SHOT

The final shot in the tease happens after everything went haywire and it just goes back to normal, revealing the release date of the show and the title card. A fun little detail about this shot is if you notice on the top left corner, the wall starts to peel off, revealing tv static. Very intriguing. Perhaps the teaser as a whole represented a metaphor for what might happen in the series.

    BONUS: THE TVs

All of the TVs shown in the teaser are representative of their eras. But there was one TV that popped up for only about 5 frames before disappearing again.

What’s interesting about this tv? Well, it’s actually not the TV itself, but rather what it’s on. This old TV stand on wheels is something commonly seen in hospitals. Interestingly enough, Charles talked about WandaVision filming inside a hospital about a year ago. So I’d check up on that if you need a refresher.

Official Plot Synopsis: Starring Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany, “WandaVision” is a blend of classic television and the Marvel Cinematic Universe in which Wanda Maximoff and Vision—two super-powered beings living idealized suburban lives—begin to suspect that everything is not as it seems. The show features the return of Kat Dennings as Darcy Lewis & Randall Park as Agent Jimmy Woo, as well as the introduction of new faces, such as Teyonah Parris as an adult Monica Rambeau and Kathryn Hahn as the nosey neighbor, Agnes.

WANDAVISION PREMIERES EXCLUSIVELY ON DISNEY+ ON JANUARY 15TH.

  • New ‘THE FALCON AND THE WINTER SOLDIER’ Merch Teases Sharon Carter on the Run

New ‘THE FALCON AND THE WINTER SOLDIER’ Merch Teases Sharon Carter on the Run

While The Falcon and the Winter Soldier isn’t set to debut until sometime next year, it seems Marvel isn’t holding back on the release of new merch based on the upcoming Disney+ series.

Earlier today, the Marvel Pop Up Store in Tokyo, Japan started to display some of the merch it will be selling for Tokyo Comic-Con, and it seems to give us some details about the status of some of our characters while also giving us a clue at to where the show might be headed. So, let’s break down these sets and see what we can find.

    SET A:

“Set A” is displaying what seems to be some notebook coverings and stickers about the show, with some details about Sam and Bucky’s powers and enhancements, as well as the tagline “Who will wield the shield?”. The most stand out article out of all of these items is the Sharon Carter “Wanted” sticker on the top right. It seems to indicate that Sharon is going to be on the run from the government and the law in this series. It’s no surprise considering that the last time we saw Sharon, she aided Captain America during Civil War (2016).

    SET B:

Set B, as we can see here, features a FAWTS towel, along with a sticker and keychain of Cap’s shield.

    SET C:

As for Set C, there’s a FAWTS Keychain with a two-sided logo piece that swivels and interchanged between Bucky’s signature star on his arm and Sam’s falcon icon. There seems to also be 3 pins for the logos of both the characters and the show, and lastly a sticker with a close-up of both of the characters.

Following the events of “Avengers: Endgame,” Sam Wilson/Falcon (Anthony Mackie) and Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan) team up in a global adventure that tests their abilities—and their patience—in Marvel Studios’ “The Falcon and The Winter Soldier.” The all-new series is coming to Disney+ sometime in 2021.

  • Council of Lokis: The True Founders of the TVA

Council of Lokis: The True Founders of the TVA

Disney+ will be the home for many new shows taking place in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The shows will introduce a variety of characters, but some mainstays are also finally getting the franchise they deserve. Among them, the popular villain Loki will be part of his very own series. Not just any version of the character but one version that escaped after getting his hands on the Cosmic Cube. During the events of Avengers: Endgame, Tony Stark, and Ant-Man were supposed to steal it. Yet, it ended up falling into Loki’s hands, who swiftly uses the chance to disappear before the events of the original film could take place.

Now, his disappearance creates a brand new branch in the franchise’s timeline and will take center-stage in the Disney+ series. We even got a teaser that revealed that he’ll get involved with the Time Variance Authority, or TVA. Not too long after, we heard rumors of different versions of the God of Mischief appearing throughout the series. There was even evidence that we would at least see a variation of Kid Loki in the series. Some even believed we got a glimpse of Lady Loki through some set photos, as she has a similar outfit to that of the iconic character. The casting of Robert E. Grant could also be connected, as IMDb has now listed his stunt actor Dave Cutler as “Classic Loki”.

How does this all connect to the TVA? Well, the organization has a long history in Marvel comics, but not much is known about its foundation. The casting of Kang for Ant-Man 3 long before the film even enters production could tease his appearance in earlier production. Well, if the conquerer beyond the limits of time is going to show up anywhere, it would be a show featuring the TVA. It wouldn’t be too surprising that he is the founder of the organization, but there is a good chance he isn’t alone. In the comics and even on Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, we got introduced to the Council of Kang. These are different iterations from across the multiverse that consulted each other.

Prime Kang led the council in the comics, who eventually would become Immortus. There was the rumor that Grant would potentially play that character. Now, some hints might be pointing to him being Classic Loki. Now that I think about it, Classic could also be the MCU version of Prime. Yet, it isn’t connected to Kang but rather Loki. It looks like we might have a Council of Lokis as part of the series. It wouldn’t be too surprising if Classic Loki might be a founder of the TVA. Now that the character is displaced from time, we could see his travel through time and space end up as the founder.

He could be stuck in a time loop that got created due to the Avengers playing with time. Now, an older version of the character hopes to find a way to break the loop and is using other versions throughout time to solve it. Maybe he even is a version we know very well from his long history from the Earth-616. Perhaps this also inspired Kang to seek out others of his kind throughout the multiverse, as he realizes the damage they have done and sets out to do what Loki couldn’t. Erase the reason their part of the multiverse is lost in time.
