    New Trailer for Season 3 of ‘The Mandalorian’ to Debut During NFL Wild Card Game

    Disney loves synergy. After the latest trailer for Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania debuted during the College Football Playoff National Championship game, the studio is going to be back at it soon this time to promote one of their most popular streaming series.

    A press release from ESPN revealed that a new trailer for Season of The Mandalorian is set to debut at halftime of the NFL Wild Card Playoff Game on January 16th. The game, featuring the Dallas Cowboys and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, can be seen on ESPN and kicks off at 8:00 PM ET.

    The third season of The Mandalorian, which is set to debut on Disney Plus on March 1st, will continue to follow the adventures of Din Djarin and Grogu, who were reunited in the Season 2 finale. The teaser trailer for the new season featured the ruined homeworld of Mandalore, high tensions and a look at several fan-favorite characters making their return.

    CCXP: Season 3 of ‘The Mandalorian’ Gets an Official Release Date

    As part of Disney’s presentation at Brazil’s CCXP, Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau revealed that Season 3 of The Mandalorian will debut on Disney Plus on March 1st!

    As the teaser trailer for the third season revealed, Pedro Pascal’s Din Djarin will have to deal with the consequences of his choices and finds himself stripped of his identity as a Mandalorian.

    Season 3 of The Mandalorian is expected to spend quite a bit of time on Mandalore and continue to follow up on storylines begun told during the animated series The Clone Wars and Rebels. At CCXP, Favreau claimed the upcoming season will be the biggest yet.

    Disney+ Italy Accidentally Leaks a ‘The Mandalorian’ Short Film Focused on Grogu

    Grogu or Baby Yoda as some still refer to the fictional character of The Mandalorian is seemingly getting his own little special later this month. As leaked by Disney+’s Italian account, it seems that on November 12th will see a new special titled Star Wars Zen: Grogu and Dust Bunnies released on the platform. It’s an interesting surprise, as we haven’t had a teaser of any kind of this new addition

    The tweet leaking this new special has been deleted by the official Disney+ account, but luckily Reddit user u/cefaluu got a screenshot of the tweet and shared it on the Star Wars Leaks Reddit. If this may have gone online too early, we may expect an official announcement either later today or potentially even to kick off next week. It’s unclear if this special is purely CG or even live-action.

    Star Wars Zen is also an exciting title and could be their equivalent to Marvel Studios’ Special Presentation. The question is how long this project has been in development and how long it may be, especially if they aren’t promoting it at least a month in advance. Its timing may also be a little trinket to celebrate The Mandalorian‘s three-year anniversary as they usually have a new series released during the Holiday season. We’ll have to see what exactly this project might be once the first teaser finds its way online.

    While there have been many discussions surrounding the Disney+ shows since they started rolling out more, The Mandalorian still stands tall as the one to start it all. With a third season on the horizon, we’re still waiting for any details on the project. Luckily, Carl Weathers has us covered as he revealed in an interview with Big Gold Belt Media that director Rick Famuyiwa was involved with multiple episodes of The Mandalorian‘s upcoming Season 3.

    You got Rick [Famuyiwa] who’s here, who’s behind the camera, executive producing on our show, you know? Who directed me in a couple of episodes of The Mandalorian this season and I’m a huge fan.

    It’s always great to see when an actor is excited about a director’s work on a project. Mandalorian‘s monster-of-the-week approach has been a standout among the many Disney+ shows released that seemingly follow a more cinematic format. Weathers also confirming he’ll be involved with multiple episodes could be a hint that his character will have a multiple story arc throughout.

    Of course, they could go a similar route to the second season, which saw various characters come together in the final episode to unite against a common threat. Famuiywa has been quite busy with his work on the Star Wars series, and here’s also hoping he’ll get a chance to potentially tackle another Disney project, maybe even something web-related.

    RUMOR: New Poster May Hint at ‘The Book of Boba Fett’ Season 2

    You never know what may find its way online, especially with many eagle-eyed fans out there looking for the next hint at some of their favorite franchises making a return. With San Diego Comic-Con on the horizon, who knows what kind of announcements we might get from the various studios. There have already been quite a few teases of what Mar vel STudios may have planned in the near future, but a new poster may hint that a Star Wars Disney+ series may also make a return soon.

    As shared by Reddit user u/SomeBoredBoi, they’ve spotted a poster teasing the various Disney+ Star Wars series. Among them, there’s the listing of the various projects currently in development which also includes a tease that The Book of Boba Fett may be getting a second season. There hasn’t been an official announcement yet, especially with all eyes on The Mandalorian‘s third season, Ahsoka for next year, and even Andor later next month.

    We still have to take it with a bit of a grain of salt, as there have been some very well-made fake posters in the past to catch people off-guard. Still, it would make sense for a second season that builds upon the storylines slowly introduced in the first. The first season was part of Boba Fett’s origin story for what happened to him after falling into the famous Sarlacc Pit while also setting up The Mandalorian‘s third season. So, here’s hoping a second entry could keep the focus on Boba a bit more and also give Temuera Morrison some more chances to showcase just how badass he really is.

    ‘Hocus Pocus 2’ Trailer Pulls in Massive Viewership Within 24 Hours, Beats Out ‘The Mandalorian’s

    Now, this isn’t something you would expect but there’s a reason Hocus Pocus was such a cult classic even after all these years. After a long wait, the first trailer has finally arrived for the sequel, simply titled Hocus Pocus 2, that’ll see the return of Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy in the roles they played 29 years ago. Within 24 hours, the trailer has pulled in a massive 43.6M.

    To put that into comparison, it has outperformed some of Diseny+’s biggest trailer releases such as The Book of Boba Fett’s 23M and Luca’s 28M. Not only that, it even surpassed the teasers for the first two seasons of The Mandalorian, which stood at 35M each. Those are some massive numbers, and once again highlighted just how valuable a continuation of a classic franchise truly can be with such a long break, as we saw with Top Gun Maverick a few months back.

    It’ll be interesting to see if the viewership also carries over into the film’s actual release. These numbers tend to hint at where the project will end up performing, which hopefully is a sign that Disney+ is starting to find its base with more audiences. Marvel and Star Wars will remain their cornerstone, but Disney may finally realize that their IP pockets are much deeper and far more diverse moving forward.

    SWCA: Jon Favreau Already Started Writing ‘The Mandalorian’ Season 4

    Star Wars Celebration is still ongoing and it looks like Jon Favreau may have confirmed that while we’re months away from The Mandalorian‘s Season 3 to release, they’re already started work on a fourth season. In an interview with CinemaBlend, he talked about where they currently are with working on these series as Dave Filoni has moved on to focus on the Ahsoka series. While discussing it, he gave away that he’s already started writing on Season 4 of the Disney+ series.

    With television, we’re very lucky that we don’t have to rush things through into an hour-and-a-half, two hours. We get to tell stories slowly. So now, as Dave [Filoni]’s doing Ahsoka, it’s very much informing the writing that I’m doing for [The Mandalorian] Season 4. It becomes – how should I put it – more precise.

    It’s surprising that he may have already started work on it, but we did hear that Favreau has a tendency to write these projects even before getting a confirmation. The initial pitch for the series he started working on before he even got the green light to work on it. So, he may have just put down some ideas and wants to make sure he doesn’t lose them.

    It’s great to know that the series continues as it’s the only series on Disney+ that’s been running for multiple seasons like this. Marvel Studios generally goes for ongoing mini-series with the exception of Loki. So, it’s nice to have a project that continues to be a staple for the streaming service.

    SWCA: Extended ‘The Mandalorian’ Season 3 Footage Teases Mandalore

    Our very own Hunter Radesi has been busy covering the Star Wars Celebration, as he attended various panels and got to experience what it had to offer. He also got the chance to attend the Mando+ panel all about The Mandalorian and its various spinoffs. Not only did they show off the first footage for Ahsoka, but they even added an extended look at the upcoming third season.

    Hunter shared with us an update on what was added to the trailer that they showed off during the main event, such as quick shots of The Armorer, Bo-Katan, and other Mandalorians. They also showed off some monkey lizards even a look at Boba Frik. Of course, it included a good look at Grogu being adorable with the final shot being the highlight, a ship emerging from the clouds with a destroyed Mandalore beneath it.

    SWCA: First ‘Ahsoka’ Footage Teases Ezra Bridger and ‘Rebels’ Connection

    A first look at the upcoming The Mandalorian series, Ahsoka, has been shown off during the Mando+ panel at Star Wars Celebration. Our very own Hunter Radesi has been sharing details from the panel such as the first footage for the upcoming series. It is currently still in production for the last three weeks, and they’ve managed to put together a teaser for the attending fans.

    According to Hunter, they showed off Hera, but we don’t see her face. She’s with some rebels and a droid. Then we get to see Ahsoka wandering through some old ruins, where she takes off her hood. Then we get a mural featuring the Rebels cast before it ends with a tease of Ezra Bridger. Sadly, they haven’t revealed who is playing and it’s simply giving us a strong focus on him as part of the mural before the actor walked in with the back of his head showing but no clear view of who is playing him.
